All was quiet as the man walked into the bar. A few patrons glanced up at him as he walked to a table and sat down. One or two faces looked him over, summing him up. He wasn't really much to look at, tall, withered face, old worn clothes, there were only two things about him that stood out. One was his eyes, they were a deep, piercing blue, they were sad, yet there was some fire still there, these were eyes that had seen the 'verse, and much more. The second thing was the instrument he carried, a small guitar-type thing, it was clearly well cared for. Could he be a musician?
The man ordered a drink, but shook his head when they asked for money. "Ain't got none." he said in a quiet voice. "How bout I tell ya'll some stories for the drink?" The owner lliked the idea, several other patrons made agreeing noises. The man brought his instrument in front of him, tuning it as he spoke. "I doubt many of you remember much of the days of the war, be honest my head's a little foggy of that myself, so I'll try something else. Ya'll 've heard of Serenity I take it?" Many nodded, one or two raised a glass. "Good, then here's something for ya." He finished tuning. "Not many know what happened to Serenity after they left Miranda, so I guess I'll start there, though other tales may come up, from before, from after, who knows. Just know that all I tell ya here today's true." With that he strummed his instrument once and began to speak...
Now you're probably wondering what he said, well, I can't tell you, the stories are in your hands now.
Go and tell them.
