I have been investing all my time in a new project I have started. The Monarch Buterfly socity of Western Michigan. The monarch needs our help In the past years their nimbers have been steadily Declining, There primary food source Is the milkweed plant but due to ecomonic growth thes plants are disapearing at an alarming rate, as of right now we dont have any seeds available but we plan to, as we are just getting started it may take us some time to get everything up and going there are several orginazations available that have seed available.
Facts: The monarch has the longest migration of any butterfly in the U.S.
The monarch can be found everywhere in the U.S. and parts of Canada.
Please do your part and plant a milkweed to help this beatuiful wonder of nature reach those who dont know anything about them or who may never see one. The life span of an adult Monarch is normally 4 to 8 weeks, except for those that enter diapause (delayed sexual maturity) and migrate to Mexico to spend their winter. Those individuals can live up to 8 or 9 months.
Thay realy are an amazing creature.

Where do I get milkweed seeds? I'd be happy to plant them in my garden. Wild flowers seem to love it. Also the Monarch is one of my favorite butterflies. I get a lot of Tiger Swallowtail butterflies in my garden at the moment...
