It had been about a week since Teasel had arrived at the Jedi temple. Though between finding his way here, finding his way around and starting to settle in, he hadn't had the chance to really meet anybody yet. Mostly he'd puttered around his quarters and explored the temple, wide-eyed and impressed at the vast facility.

Today, though, was lovely out. He'd had a filling breakfast which always left him in a good mood. And so, cheerful and full, Teasel had made his way out to the pleasant courtyard and settled down on the edge of the fountain. He didn't have any real goals in mind... he just wanted to enjoy the sunshine and perhaps nap a little bit. This place was far, far removed from the home he was used to.

Unlike Teasel, Korvo had been at the temple long enough to have stopped dropping his jaw every time he entered the courtyard, though he was fairly sure he'd never not find something about it that was amazing. It also had a certain degree of sentementality, since the central fountain was the first place he'd really reached out to the force as an act of will. That and other lessons had centered around the courtyard, though for now he was only planning on catching up on some reading.
Catching up on the latest arrivals to the temple hadn't even been a ping on his mental radar. At least not until he emerged from around one of the paths to the fountain to spot, over his holopad, the short, fuzzy form of Teasel.
Ewok?? That was extremely unexpected, and he stopped in his tracks to blink in astonishment and curiosity, then mentaly kicked himself for being that surprised. Just coming to the temple had been an introduction to species he'd never seen in person before, and in some cases had barely heard of before at the time, so by comparison, the presence of an Ewok could could be considered practically mundane... he just had no particularly great idea what to do next or if he was interupting something.
"Uh, sorry. I was just going to read... Let me know if I'm in the way?"

Teasel cracked open one bright black eye and looked Korvo over, his face breaking into a grin. "Not interrupting, you!" He explained, straightening up and extending a friendly hand. "Teasel I am. Just got here, I. Well... 'bout a week ago, I did." He liked the look of this kid, though Korvo towered above the short little Ewok. Teasel was used to that... everyone towered above him. "Whats your name, you?"

Jiri, fresh out of a saber technique training session, made her way through the courtyard. Her eventual intention was to make it to the mess hall, but first she wanted to walk some of the tension out of her leg muscles and cool down a bit.

That last part was a bit counter-intuitive in the courtyard, considering how hot days on Tyrinonge could get. She walked through the courtyard, and the path eventually spat her out at the fountain, just like all paths in the courtyard were in the habit of doing.

She spotted a familiar someone already there.

"Good morning, Korvo," she nodded, coming up beside the male apprentice. She looked at the other being. Her brow wrinkled momentarily, and then she remembered the word - Ewok. "Who's your new friend?"

Korvo couldn't help breaking out into a matching grin, falling easily into Teasels example. "I guess I missed noticing, which is my own fault. Nice to meet you, I'm..."
Jiri's voice cut in on his introduction and he looked over with an even wider grin. "Well she said it already. I'm Korvo, this is Jiri." He explained, gesturing toward her. "She's really good, don't let her tell you any different." He added, teasing. "Jiri, this is Teasel. I just bumped into him, well...not literally. I was actually paying more attention that that."

"Korvo. Jiri. I am glad to meet you, I." Teasel said, looking amiably from one to the other. In fact, it pleased him a great deal to be meeting people. Coming from such a huge family entrenched in community spirit, he'd found his travels and the new temple a bit lonely feeling. "You look like you've been hard at work, you." He added, looking Jiri over.

Jiri nodded sheepishly, glaring daggers at Korvo. "Early morning lessons," she explained. "My master demands dedication."

She studied the Ewok a bit longer, honestly perplexed as to whether he was a student or a knight. She wasn't versed in their life cycle, any way. He was small enough to be a student... but she didn't want to ask.

"Korvo's not bad," she continued. "He's beat me in sparring a few times. He'd beat me more if he didn't get distracted so easily."

She smirked at the young man beside her, and then winked at the diminutive third participant in the conversation. "I'm sorry. I missed your name."

Korvo reddened slightly, but seemed to hold steadfast under her daggers, as though he were maybe courting the attention. "Well maybe if you weren't so dist..." He started, then cleared his throat. "Anyway. I was just trying to read up on things..." he waved the Holo pad faintly in his own defense. "I do have to keep up on my sparring too though. What about you, Teasel?" He asked in curiosity. He honestly wasn't sure how you could tell how old an Ewok was, so it wasn't easy to tell much about his level of training.

"Teasel am I." Grinning at Jiri's wink, he added, "I did most of my studying back on Svivren, I. After my master died I made my way here, I. That'd make me a knight, it would. So they say, they." He shrugged a little. "My master, he wasn't nearly as formal, he. I think I probably still have a lot of practicing to do, I." Teasel shrugged again. "You never stop learning, you know. My family, they weren't so happy I was leaving them, they. My mother, she made a big fuss, she." His voice turned just a little wistful at that memory, missing the crowded good-natured shouting of home. "But she was proud, she. Not many Ewoks become Jedis!" This last was said in a bit of a boastful tone as his chest puffed out proudly.

"I've never even heard of an Ewok Jedi before...wow..." Korvo admitted, taking in the situation with wholehearted fascination. Perhaps as accused by Jiri he was easy to distract, but there was so much to know. "I'm sorry your master died." He added, as that relevant bit of information sunk in. "I bet she was proud though, that must have been something else. I'd like to hear sometime, how they found you."

So he was a knight? Jiri guessed from his story. It was all terribly interesting. She nudged Korvo. "You're forgetting there aren't too many Jedi, period."

It was true - the Order was small.

"We're apprentices," she explained. "My master is Kailey Koreco."

"My master, he was a displaced Jedi, he. Ran an apothecary he did when we found each other." Teasel grinned. "So I dont think I was trained like you were, I." Turning to Jiri, he blinked. "Do you pick your masters here, you?" He asked curiously. He still had little understanding of just how this place was run and organized.

"Well...yeah but...you know what I mean." Korvo muttered, embarassed by Jiri's elbowing. "It's still interesting." He shuffled slightly and shrugged, trying to think how to explain things. "Well, mine sort of picked me. Or offered. "I'm learning under Rhel. He saw Jiri and I practicing and asked."

Jiri nodded. "It was similar for me. My master saw me practicing and asked."

She smiled devilishly, hopped up onto the rim of the fountain, and began to pace. "How long have you been here?" she asked the knight.

"My master noticed me and offered too, he did. Noticed I was manipulating traders without knowing it, I." Teasel grinned a little wickedly, pleased at the thought of taking mental advantage of traders without even knowing he was doing it. "I've only been here a week or so, I." He added. "It's nothing like home, it is."
