Telgar Weyr: Turn 508 Weyrleader B'ron and Weyrwoman Arita have just stepped down from their positions and appointed their daughter, Mekaama, to take their place until the senior queen flies. There is a certain amount of discontent about their decision from many in the weyr, who wanted an older and more experienced queen rider to take her place, even if only temporarily.Rider PopulationGold:

Mekaama walked out into the morning sun and into the bowl, riding gear in arms. A gold glided down from where she had been sunning to land at her rider's side.
Summon the others Aylith. Morning warm-ups for the threadfall today. Mekaama stood and watched as the queen roared and dragons began to rise from their weyrs and sunning ledges to congregate in the bowl. Riders soon followed from within the weyr.
They come. Aylith said as Mekaama began to put on the flying straps.

D'niel and Jibanth land first next to her and seceretly wonder when the mating flight will be.
"So whats the Formation today Wyerwoman?"
Jibanth stares a bit at her queen before looking away

Mekaama, now up on Aylith's neck, looked to the bronze rider.
"V formation to inverse V formation. If these riders would stay in formation." Her eyes narrowed as she surveyed the other riders. They tended to show off and start pulling stunts in the middle of warm-ups.
Aylith eyed Jibanth impassively while kneading the ground beneath her with her long talons.

Mekaama gave him a cold glance before Aylith sprang upward, the queen's wing right behind.
That was a bit on the mean side. Aylith looked at her rider out of the corner of her eye.
He's a bronze rider.
So?
Up for weyrleadership, remember? How many times do I need to remind you? Mekaama frowned. Curse weyrleaders. Weyrwoman could do just fine without them.
