4/1/06:
Telgar: Jibanth, dragon of D'niel has flown Aylith and is now Weyrleader. Mekaama is Weyrwoman.
Transfer wings from Fort have arrived at Telgar.
During crossover drills with the new wings, the green Selenth went into full heat. There were several near hits. Now the queen riders Sora, Mekaama, and Aurelena debate the cause while Necca tries to mediate and support her weyrwoman. D'niel is also trying to keep tempers in check with the queen riders and the wing leaders.

The next fall is particularly heavy. Despite excellent flying, the wings suffer many casualties. Aurelena, rider of gold Meryth, falls into a coma. Weyrleader D'niel and his dragon Jibanth are killed when they protect Weyrwoman Mekaama from a rogue clump of thread.
This fall and event become known as the Tragedy at Telgar among other weyrs. Telgar never had that many riders to begin with, and transfers from other weyrs come quite often.
3 months later, Aylith's clutch hatches on the grounds. Aurelena awakens from her coma. T'bol has barely left her side. The clutch Impresses and the weyrlings head off to the barracks ((weyrling thread created)).
At the Hatching Feast, things go without event for a little while. K'dex, rider of brown Starrith, arrives from Ista as a transfer. Kazra, rider of green Kirath, arrives from High Reaches. K'dex quickly socializes and takes advantage of the Feast.
Mekaama, rider of gold Aylith, attends the feast with slight reluctance, as she has withdrawn herself from the weyr in the past three months.
Generally the weyr is having a good time dancing and finally having something to celebrate. Brownrider M'tan raids the wine stores, much to Headwoman Souvea's apparent displeasure, though strangely enough he does not get stopped.
K'dex soon finds a dancing partner in Villa, rider of green Selenth and weyrmate of L'san, rider of blue Kampoth. L'san, assigned to see that transfer Kazra settles in, is not present.
Iris, rider of green Ellieth, enjoys a dance with M'tan. Interim Weyrwoman Sora dances with any bronzerider she can get her hands on, but leaves Interim Weyrleader K'ris to his weyrmate, Sana, rider of green Valth. Aurelena and T'bol make an entrance.
Naturally, drama commences.
A bronze transfer alludes crudely to D'niel just as B'ren has persuaded Mekaama onto the dance floor. Mekaama collapses and B'ren brings her from the hall.
The Weyr is hesitant to continue the Feast after the incident, but does. K'ris has to deal with the transfer and also speaks with K'dex and Kazra. He tells K'dex that he does not have any objection to him joining the weyr, though he assigns Kazra to the weyrling wing.
K'dex and Kazra return to the festivities, as does L'san. Kazra meets Villa and Iris and K'dex more officially. L'san meets K'dex, who is being obvious about his flirtations with Villa, not knowing L'san is her weyrmate. Begin tension between L'san and K'dex. Kazra retires to her weyr, though it takes her a while to figure out where it is and encounters B'yard, rider of brown Zaneth, in her search. The group enjoys a bit more of the feast until L'san is provoked to punch K'dex. They start a fight, much to Villa's distress. L'san gets one good punch in, though K'dex's fire lizard covers him with scratches. K'ris again finds duty drawing him away from festivities. He severely chastises both riders (much to Souvea's disappointment. She wanted a piece of both of them.)
The Weyr settles down eventually. Jump to morning.
With the day off from thread, many riders decided to go away from the weyr for some relaxation. Some, without the knowledge of higher ups who would surely forbid such activity (*wink wink*), head to southern for some hunting and swimming. Others stay on the northern continent and some at the weyr. Weyrleader K'ris announces the new wing arrangements and calls for wing meetings that evening.
However, a snowstorm blowing in from the Frozen Wastes ruins everyone's rest day. All riders are called back early so they can return before the winds are too much. The message gets to Iris, L'san, and Kazra rather late as they were at Southern. Their return is further postponed by the attempt to bring back fire lizard eggs.
Time jump 18 months
The weyrlings are now ready for their final weyrling test and ready to join the wings.
Sora's Lureth flew and was caught by E'var's Dalgeth, making E'var and Sora the Weyrleaders.
Mekaama had her son, Mekiel, and he is about a turn old.
K'dex and Villa are happy weyrmates.
The weyrlings head out for their tests with their evaluators.
The Weyrleaders of High Reaches drop by Telgar in a surprise visit. During the meeting, Dalgeth bellows a challenge at High Reaches Weyrleader N'toran's bronze, but the Weyrleaders say to the weyr that it was simply a misunderstanding and the High Reaches weyrleaders had come to say they could not afford to help Telgar with tithes anymore. (The holds Telgar protects are suffering a drought and cannot provide tithes). The weyr will have to ration.
However, what actually happened in the meeting was that N'toran and Nazra were assigned to tell E'var and Sora that the other weyrs' leaders had all met and decided that Telgar should be dissolved since it had been struggling with too few riders and insufficient tithes, making them require aid from the other weyrs that they are no longer willing to provide. Instead, they plan to have Telgar's holds and riders divided up among themselves. Paraphrasing, E'var and Sora told N'toran and Nazra that they could go to hell for such plotting and that Telgar would stand.
The weyrlings returned from their tests. The three friends F'riae, Evabrie, and E'sper got in a fight over a stunt F'riae and Moth pulled during the test. In ended in F'riae storming off and then E'sper's green flying, caught by A'driel's brown.
That evening, the weyrlings that passed their tests are notified and go to their congratulatory feast.
The Weyrleaders announce that the weyr will be rationing.
The next day there is Threadfall. High winds cause some difficulties, espescially for smaller dragons. Some of the greens sprain wings. Wingleader S'eun's bronze, Veralith, suffers a terrible score to the chest. Wingleader J'son suffers a score to the arm.
The riders return to the weyr tired and hungry but are told that lunch will not be served until noon so they can't eat yet. This causes considerable discontent among the riders, though it is kept to mutterings.
To pass the time, many of the riders bathe their dragons in the lake or have klah, the only nourishment currently available.
Queenrider Mekaama returns from a night-long absence in rough shape with two children in tow. She gives only ambiguous answers to the Weyrleaders, but she's figured out that the other weyrs willingly pulled their support from Telgar.
Lunch is finally served. Soon the RP will time jump to the first expedition down to the Southern continent for food. [will be continued]
