Sitting on the side of her small bed, Maki’s legs hung over limply as she stared blankly at the door. ”Uh, why does’sa the door have to be so far away?” Stretching her arms in front of her, it took a few moments for her to get up and off the bed. Standing on shaky legs, she couldn’t help but think about the activities for today as she began gathering her clothing and items to take with her. You see, today was going to be very busy for Maki, in comparison to the earlier weeks in the year. But, that was partly because things have seemed to be very slow and dull, but maybe that was because she had finally gotten use to living here. Everything was much easier here, since she didn’t have to be busy all of the time like back at the cantina. But, that also caused Maki to become bored... very bored.

Luckily, things were going to be really good today. Earlier in the week, Edan had asked if Maki wouldn’t mind doing a little bit of training with him. Although that wasn’t very exciting to most people, for Maki it was almost like finding a bunch of free food! It was something that Maki could do, and considering that she was friends with Edan made it even better. Edan was one of the few people that she was really able to call a true friend, and she already had a few funny memories with him as she attempted to find food to eat. Moving towards the door, Maki was finally ready to head towards the courtyard. Today would be a good day indeed.

Heading towards the courtyard, it only took a few short moments for her to arrive in the beautiful place. Although Maki has seen the courtyard many times, it always seemed to impress her more than anyone could understand. There was such peace and tranquility there, and Maki couldn’t help but just enjoy spending time there. In fact, there was many times during the pervious weeks that Maki would just walk around the courtyard, seeing the small animal life that was thriving there and just feeling that amazing sense of peace there. If Maki had the choice, she would spend every moment that she could out there, instead of in her small room. But, at least everything was much better now than back when she was at the cantina. At least she had her freedom here, and was able to train in the way of the Sith. Standing near a wall, it only took a few moments for Maki to daze out as she waited for Edan to arrive.

Edan glanced up from his datapad and the letter his brother had sent him, the low hum of Jin's hovering mechanisms white-noise in his daily life since arriving at the temple... when exactly had he arrived again?

The human blinked his bright green eyes as he slowly counted backwards the number of times he'd flopped down on the bed to sleep after wandering around the temple for untold amounts of hours. At least a week had passed, but how many more days than that? Had it been weeks already, nearing a month or more? Or less than that, ten days or so? It seemed so strange to him he couldn't fathom the precise number for the life of him. But then, that's how time in reference to days had melted together for him back home... perhaps that was just a sign he was fully comfortable here? Even with all the new arrivals popping up at seemingly every turn and bend in the halls -never mind at the dinning hall- things still seemed so calm and reasonable and peaceful here. Like home, really. A really, really, really big home.

An unemotional beep droned from his datapad and he frowned, watching as Basic scrolled down the screen for a moment before flashing a timestamp and blaring bold and green on the screen it was time to go meet Maki.

"Ack! Jin, why didn't you remind me?" he cried out as he twisted and fumbled off of the bed, rolling from his laying position onto the floor with a wild thud and scrambled to find his boots. Under the bed? In his bag? In the corne- by the door. Where he took them off yesterday. Right.

Jin's lazy protesting was hardly computed as Edan threw the datapad onto the bed -almost hitting Jin in the process, making it difficult to discern if the droid was complaining about being yelled at or almost being a moving target- before bolting out the door and down the hall.

Sharp turns were more like sliding skids he'd learned quickly through his random treks around the grounds he was rather good at, the stone floors similar to ice with little traction on his boots once he really got racing. He used to fall moment he tried to stop, or would skid right into the opposite wall and then fall down. Thankfully though, not only had no one ever been around to see this but Jin in the past, but he'd slowly learned how to control the skidding and the sliding, now to the point he would stop more-or-less in the center of the hall before bolting on and repeating the process at the end of said hallway. Which, really... was really, really fun.

Plus, it made traveling that much quicker.

A final slide-and-skid ended him at the entrance to the Courtyard, though huffing as he was from running and the slide-and-skids and whatnot. The warmth of the sun bathed him and relaxed him, stride casual and calm as he slowly walked into the green expanse. It didn't take long for the redhead to spot the purple-haired and spotted girl against the wall, a laugh and smile tugging at his lips and making him grin as he approached her.

Carefully, as to hopefully no startle her, he tapped on her shoulder. "Maki? Maki, wake up. Sorry if I made you wait, I... well, I kind of forgot until my datapad went off to remind me." His face flushed with color as he admitted his fault, crossing both arms behind his back as he took a respectful step back after tapping her on the shoulder.
