You get the idea...For those who don't, my violet there died months and months ago. Why don't more people post in this guild?

Darn good question! Urbeth and I have been a wonderin'! If you figure it out...let us know okay?
Honestly, we have tried a bunch of ideas and it doesn't seem to matter. No one looks at the plant/fungi of the week stuff we post so we have tapered off doing it. We didn't get much enthusiasm for having contests with plant prizes for winners either. Even people who ask for assistance with identifying a plant don't end up posting pictures or responding when we ask questions...making it darn near impossible for us to help.
Really! If you have some suggestions...PLEASE tell one of us!! crying
Its nearly spring! Lets clear out the weeds of 'Laziness' in our heads and do some fun stuff in this guild!!

I've been meaning to be more active, but grad work has been taking much of my time and energy. However, I'll have much to talk about regarding fungi in the coming weeks once the morel season picks up!
Also, I'll take some time to add more despicable plants to the list...

Sowwy I have been busy as all get out. BTW if you do not trim the flowers, use only room temp water and or get other temp water on the leaves. African violets die. I used to get one every year it would last a month before someone gave it ice water or hot water therebye spotting the leaves and alternatively freezing or cooking the roots.

Well unfortunately, I think it's 'cause a lot of Gaians are focused on errr... other things -- I mean, when I browsed for this guild under "Interest" I saw quite popular guilds for Yaoi, Final Fantasy #whatever, vampires, and goths. (I am really restraining myself from saying anything sarcastic here.)
Anyway, hi I'm new! My story is, I recently moved to a house with a pretty darn big lot out back, filled with many varieties of roses, a few fruit trees, a tangle of blackberry bushes, a lawn that needs major help, several planters with I don't know what blooming out of them... etc. Part of my rental agreement is doing the gardening and landscaping! eek I've always wanted to do this kind of thing, but it's challenging!!
My first big question is about pruning the roses, I shall do that in a new topic, with PICTURES yay!
Glad to be here, sorry for the long post. sweatdrop

nice to meat you snail babe. I'm still learning about how to take care of roses. I just bought a blue girl rose bush this year. I got some bad advice from Al's garden center who said I was watering too much. I had a feeling I should be skeptical when the lady I was talking to kept adding days to how often I shouldn't water. She ended by tellling me I should only water every 5 days. well my poppies hate me, the pumpkins don't look so good anymore and the rose looks dry. Now I have to nurse them all back to health.
