So yeah... From what you have probably guessed from the title... Heath Ledger died today (Jan. 22)... I find this to be a shock as he is playing the new Joker in The Dark Knight... I was never a big fan of him, but still... He was playing the new joker! The only question I really have is... Is this going to affect the movie at all?

It may mean they push the date back, but of my understanding they wrapped it just before his death.
It's still sad though, they'll have to recast him now, and it seemed like he was going to be a good Joker. emo

It's still sad though, they'll have to recast him now, and it seemed like he was going to be a good Joker. emo Yeah, from what I've heard they finished all the main filming... And with it being so close to release I doubt they had much more to do (like make up shots or whatever)... And from the way WB is talking they aren't pushing the date back. But who knows... WB has said that before and still pushed a movie back. And I agree with him seeming like a good Joker... And its not like they can kill the Joker in his first movie... After all he is Batman's arch-enemy... But we will see.

Heath Ledger's Death pretty much sucks. He was actually a talented actor, unlike a lot of late 90's hyped up heart throbs, you know? I, personally, don't think Batman will be postponed, because as crude as it sounds the film will most likely make a lot of money now that he's dead. People who don't even really care may feel compelled to see his "last movie" (although I don't think thats true, he was more then likely filming one recently). sad

"The Dark Knight" will probably be a cult film like "The Crow", popular cause the star died. It saddens me that people may only see the movie for Heath Ledger but they may be freaked out by the Joker (if they're not expecting the kind of character he's playing). He's supposed to be some bad mofo, and from the clips I've seen, I agree with that.
It'll still be a great movie none the less. They'll probably dedicate it to him.
And Adam and I were watching the news and they said "The Dark Knight" is in post-production so if they have to do any reshoots w/ the Joker, they'll probably use a stunt double w/ CG Heath face (if they need it).
Oh, and side note: Freakin news report gave out a spoiler on tv that sucked cause it was something that even Wizard wasn't talking about. I won't say it here cause I don't wanna blab but it has to do w/ Harvey Dent and Two-Face. If you know already, good for you.

So, I heard a funny little rumor today that has some backing to it... From a couple people and a magazine...
Apparently playing the Joker was such a mind trip for Heath, that that is what is being blamed as making him kind of... Go off the deep end? Heath really gets into his characters and of course in good fashion did the same for this one... But he was actually having trouble sleeping (rumor or terrible nightmares) because of it. So, to help he started taking several drugs... Which ended up doing him in...
This is actually makes me really happy and sad at the same time... He put all the effort and time into making this character really bad a**... But in the end it was to much for him.
Really, really ******** crazy...
