Eye candy or enthralling film?

I don't think I've ever had so many mixed emotions for a movie. The first time I saw the trailer I thought it was going to be really cool (the first trailer was not CG), then they came out with another trailer and it was in CG and I was like "what the hell!" cause it looked cooler before. But now the more I see the new trailers the better it looks...so I dunno, but I think I'm going to have to see it though cause it's ******** Beowulf.

The first trailer wasn't animated? O_o

The whole thing IS CGIed, just really well done.

I've never cared for the story, and pretty much everything they did could have easily been done in live action. It's a waste of 3D animation, and I don't care for any of the actors or actresses in it.

I don't have to see it, to know it'll be no good.

I am SPARTA... oh, wait, I mean 'Beowulf'.

The story wasn't bad. In fact, I preferred it to the original story which I always found to be exceptionally tedious.

And I am inclined to agree on one statement; this film didn't need to be animated. Sure, there is a bunch of stuff that would have had to be animated anyway if it where a live action film, but ultimately the film is 'unnecessarily animated'.

And wanting authentic performances is one thing but aiming for extreme realism is unpractical. The more realistic you try to make computer animation the easier it is to notice it's faults. Some kind of stylization within the design would have helped the film just a little bit more.

I completely agree.

I don't know what they've changed to the story, but I remember reading the original and wanting to kill myself, hah. So, another reason I don't care to see it. Plus, I'm not a fan of Angelina Jolie, and even less of a fan of an animated version of herself.
