does any think 2012 will happen? i do, on the date 12-21-12 something will happen and the mayan calander is the most accurate calander we have and the eclips they put out are accurate but 13 seconds off and the calander ends at 2012

yeah i just heard about that from this kid in my health class he said that the world will tilt and the word will flood or something he saw it on the discovery channel and stuff i believe him cause i live in new york and the weather is geting weirder by the day..... creepy stuff though

Hmm. I don't think the world will end that soon, although your reasoning is a good one. It's going to take a while for anything to happen. If you really think that then the world may end because of a mass war between many many countries. I wonder how the world will end.

I dont think that this is going to end the world. I think that it could be possible because anything is possible but I dont think it will. Im taking a geology couse right now and that very question came up. We were talking about the earths magnetice poles. They every couple of million years switch and so I think that that might be whats going on. It hasnt happened in a time that anyone really can remember so it could be the reason for the weather pattern changes and the warmer temps. Im also not trying to say that global warming isnt happened but with samples of the earth (like taking really deap samples and stuff in ice and land) they have proven that the earth goes through warming and cooling processes and that causes the weather patterns to change. So thats why I dont think that will be the end.
I also took a religions class and its possible that the mayans had a religion that believed there was an ending date and that was it. which could be for several reasons. there are actually several religions that believed that there is a ending date. I guess we will just have to see.

well also that this famous Philosopher predicted that something bad will happen on 2012, i used to think that it will be the end of the world and my teacher said that in the bible they talk about how the earth flooded with whats his name and his boat and that fire will be next or something like that, on my negative side i think nothing will happen because look. people thought in 1999 that the year 2000 things were going to happen with our computers and most likely turn out like terminator or something lol and when it was June 6th 2006 people thought it was the appocolips cause the date ironicly was 06-06-06, and yet again nothing happend.

ok first dont think that im just trying to be disagreeable or something. I just think that this is a good discussion. My wa of discounting what your teacher said is that god said somewhere in the bible (not exactly sure where possibly in revelation) that we would not know when the world would end. So my thinking on this is that if everyone (not really everyone but a bunch of people) believe that the world will end in this specific year that it wont happen because we arent suppose to know. So thats just my thoughts on it. But it still could be the end of the world.
