Emily and the Oracle

PostPosted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 10:53 am

The sand stretches far down the ocean line, at least two miles, before stopping abruptly by some caves and rocks, which leads to a cliff overlooking the water. The ocean itself reaches the horizon. You can see an island in the distance, much too far for anyone to reach by swimming. The water sparkles blue in the sunlight, and looks inky black in moonlight.

Daigura sat on one of the rocks, her hair dancing around her by the ocean breeze. She stared out at the ocean, blinking every once in a while when a spray of salt water got in her eyes. Other than that she didn't move; she sat there, leaning back against her hands, her knees bent up with her feet on the rock.

Althaia stretched her arms above her head, holding them there for a moment before finally lowering them. As she walked along the shore, her feet making prints in the sand, she turned her gaze outward towards the ocean. How glad she was that Kaiyumi had allowed her to go for a walk! It was such a nice, serene place here...a good place to come and think, in her opinion.

And it seemed she wasn't the only one who thought that. Althaia turned away from the water, only to see that she reached a group of rocks. Glancing over her shoulder, the puppet rose surprised brows as she realized she had walked quite a distance from home already. "Ah..." How absent minded she must have been!

When she turned back towards the rocks, it was only then she noticed a figure perched ontop of one of the boulders. Startled, the shy puppet took a few steps back, before halting. Was that...Trace and Kiara's sister? What was her name?

"...A-ah. Daigura...?"

Daigura didn't move, and for several minutes it seemed she hadn't heard. Then finally, without moving her gaze or any inch of her body besides her mouth, she said "Yes?"

For a moment, Althaia kept silent, wondering if the other puppet hadn't heard her. Finally, she opened her mouth to repeat herself, when Daigura suddenly answered. Surprised, her mouth hung open for a second longer before she closed it. Shiftly awkwardly, she smiled up at the other puppet despite the fact she wasn't turned towards her.

"Oh...I was just surprised to see you here, is all. How've you been?" Then, "...U-um...mind if I join you up there?" Althaia always had hoped to get a chance to speak with Daigura sooner or later. She never did get to know the other girl very well...or...at all, really.

"No." Daigura said simply, still not moving. She watched as the sun slowly sank lower towards the horizon, making the ocean glow gold and orange.

The girl gave a little, involuntarily flinch at the oddly tense aura. Even so, still with a small smile, she gingerly made her way up to the rock, sitting close - but still a few feet from - Daigura, hoping that she wasn't making the other girl uncomfortable with her presence.

Her eyes drifted towards the horizon, and Althaia found her smile brightening a little. "...It's beautiful, isn't it?" She shifted a little so she faced the other puppet. "What brings you here, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Yes." Daigura agreed quietly, then was quiet after Althaia's question for several moments. "Arkom doesn't come here." She finally murmured, shifting just her gaze to look at the girl out of the corner of her eyes.

Though startled by Daigura's answer, Althaia only offered her a smile, and a nod. "I see." Then, sighing softly, she gave a little shake of her head. "I have a brother of my own, coming soon." She admitted. At the moment, Kehkas was but a skeleton - a glowing skeleton though - but she was extremely nervous when it came to her new brother.

"I just don't know if he'll like me or not, when he become a puppet." Althaia commented, with a sheepish smile.

Daigura turned her eyes back to the sun, giving the slightest nods but not saying anything. Another puppet- just what PR needed. She had heard that Emily was getting another puppet as well, and Arkom had said that Yami was upset about getting a younger sister. She let out a slight sigh.

Althaia seemed rather awkward in the silence, but she forced herself to enjoy it for the time being, looking back towards the water as well. Looking towards the shore, she watched as the water came and left, leaving the sand wet and frothy.

"...This place seems to take away all of your worries with the waves, hm?" She murmured, quietly, her eyes lingering on the shore.

"No." Daigura said simply, before sitting up and pulling her sweater off over her head, then sliding down the rock and into the water. It came up to her ankles, and she pulled her shoes off, leaving them in the water as she waded in to her knees, and then her thighs.

"Oh?" Startled, yet again, Althaia glanced at Daigura. Before she could question further, the other puppet had already slid down towards the water. Unmoving, she watched Daigura, tilting her head as she found a frown spreading over her face. Was she going through a hard time?

As tempted Althaia was to ask in an attempt to help her, she was also hesitant. It wasn't really her business afterall, was it...?

Daigura finally got to her waist and stopped, lifting some water into her cupped hand and pouring it over her head. She really hated the feel of salt water, she decided vaguely as she closed her eyes, blocking out the sunlight.

What to do? Should she ask, or stay silent? Finally, she spoke up, her voice soft, but loud enough to be carried towards Daigura. "Daigura? Is something wrong? You seem upset..." She paused, before hastily adding, "If you aren't comfortable with telling me that's fine. I just..."
