Seems no one has really kiked this thing off yet, so i'll toss up something. A topic that has lead to the end o' many friendships for me.
Console's VS PC's
which do you think is better and why? (maybe give pros and cons?)
Personally I'm a hardcore PC gamer, nothing gets my blood pumping like tweaking my machine (not like that you pervs!) Currently I'm running a home grown machine: AMD 64x2 Dual Core 5200, 2g of ram, NVIDIA Geforce 7950 with a water cooled GPU BABY (suck on that ps3). To put the icing on the cake i'll be slappin in a SATA Raptor 15k rpm hard drive in the near future smile
Aside from the obvious technical joy i get from pc's I feel it is a superior gaming machine. It can grow with technology and rarely has to be replaced, a game comes out that is over the top, i simply need to upgrade one part for a few hundred buck at the most instead of pimping myself out so i can drop 700 bucks on the newest console that i'll have to stand in line for 48hrs to get.
Now I have to admit that consoles do have a few advantages over them, lets take my most recent experience with 2K Games' 'Bioshock' for example. Great game, horrible coding for PC. My machine is well over the recommended specs, and is supposedly written to run on XP and Vista. LIES! As i am running XP still the game was riddled CTD's (crash to desktop) forced reboots and gaming woe. Finally it got so bad that i couldnt play more than 10 seconds without crashing, so it was with great sadness that i had to remove it from my hard drive. While my 360 toting console fan friend is happily murdering little sisters until his thumbs bleed.
Another advantage consoles have is Final Fantasy series, nuff said /tear.
First person shooters is probably the biggest argument for PC's over consoles. The grace and accuracy that a keyboard and mouse gives you is never going to be matched by thumbsticks. This point was proven when Bungie had to "Slow Down," in other words they swung the nerf bat, pc controls for Halo 2 PC so that online multiplay with Xbox Live players wouldnt be unbalanced.
PC RULES CONSOLES DROOOL!!!!!

I'm not a big gamer in any form, but for me it mostly depends on what the game is.
For example, The Sims 2 sucks on consoles. It's just hard to do what you want. I enjoy the game much more on my laptop, plus then I can download things people make for the game as well.
But I love my Wii. There's a console that would be very hard to compare to a PC. mrgreen

Depends on the game for me as well. I'm not a "hardcore" gamer and I don't understand nor particularly care about the nuance differences between the abilities of PCs and Consoles. What I do understand is that generally I like to play RPGs on computers and I prefer shooting games on Consoles. On the computer I feel like shooting games are lost in effect, but that's mostly because I've never extensively played them on computers and am just used to controls. While I care how well the game runs, and to a degree how it looks, those things are neither of my main concerns.

I personally love both... I have all 3 current consoles and love each of them... (Except the 360... The the child no one wants to actually admit they have... I don't want to admit it at least). I also have a home grown PC which I am planning on upgrading sometime soon to a GeForce 8800 and another 2gigs of ram for DX10 and Vista.
With these ramblings of non-sense... I'm simply saying, to me neither console or PC is superior. They both have their strong points and weak points. There are certain games I will only play on PC (such as the Half-Life series) and of course I have the consoles for their exclusives (Halo 3, MGS4, Final Fantasy).
I could never see myself siding with one or the other... I see myself spending more time on one or ther other at points... But I could never just drop either PC or console for the fact I think one is superior for games.

I'm not much of a gamer anymore. I pretty much just play Dead Rising and Grand Theft Auto these days. There are absolutely no games on my computer, and I own an alienware >.<

I haven't played a PC game in FOREVER. It was a monster truck racing game. IT WAS AWESOME. Ask Kai about it sometime. I also had Catz...3 I think. That was fun. And Sim Ants. I'm all oldschool PC games.
I <3 my PS2. I will not convert to PS3 for quite sometime. At least not until they have something other than Marvel Alliance (is that the right one?) *DROOLS* and the dragon one (Will showed it to me). Just not worth it yet.
Adam and I play Star Wars Battlefront 3nodding

I'd have to say they are about even for me. I get in my moods where I like one better than the other for a long time though. Before it was the Xbox- many many hours of Halo and DDR goodness. Nowadays I've mostly been playing PC games, most often Battlefield 2142 or KOTOR 2. And I'm pretty sure if we get a 360 soon I won't be touching my PC for months to come (All hail Halo 3!). As far as hours played I think PC wins though, mainly because of the MMO's I've played in the past, and if the rumors are true that a new Star Wars MMO is coming out in 2009 I think the PC is going to become my favorite again.

I'm a console fan. Always have been and always will be. I just find the controls simpler and i enjoy the games more too.
