I actually have a question now o:
What really draws people to the dark side? (Besides being under the imperius curse, etc.)
Also, where are all the Hufflepuff Death Eaters? All the Ravenclaws? Sure Slytherin is full of haughty purebloods but there are probably others out there whose other qualities out-shined their slytherin qualities and landed them in whatever non-Slytherin house they're in...

Well...lessie...
*promises of power - a lot of people will do anything to prove that they are strong and to be in control
*despising muggles - this is mainly a pureblood trait - the dark side would be the people that would go for complete wizarding rule
*sadistist - think of Bellatrix
*they're shinny - the dark mark is pretty sparkly, so I'm sure that attracts people

As for the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, I'm sure that they would be the people that are just mentioned but don't really have names... confused

bah! i always thought J.K. should've shown some non-Slytherin Death Eaters. She made it seem like if you were evil then you were obviously a Slytherin.... though if you were a Slytherin it didn't necessarily mean you were evil. It should go both ways 3nodding

I have a big problem with 'evil' characters in most movies and books. The problem being that they are intentionally evil. They're evil for the mere purpose of BEING evil. And I find that HIGHLY unrealistic. Perhaps I'm just naiive but I don't think anyone who is considered evil believes themselves to be evil at heart.
Harry Potter evil characters are okay by my standard though. It seems a lot of them are evil because they see themselves as being better than others and that sense of superiority gradually turns into malice against those lesser than them. It's all about blood status and trying to clearly make it known to all that some are better than others.
And that kind of 'evil' is pretty realistic I think... there's a reasoning behind it besides just being evil for the sake of being evil. And it's a reasoning that is actually not unheard of in the world today.
That's just my opinion.

Here's what I think...not all Slytherins can be bad, can they? I mean, look at Slughorn. And Phineas doesn't seem too bad...they're not dark wizards (well, Slughorn's not...I dunno if Phineas was).
Plus, the whole Gryffindors and Slytherins hate each other kinda thing is stupid to me...Dumbledore and Slughorn were like, best friends, and they were from those houses. So who's to say Slytherins and Gryffindors can't be friends? If I were in either house I'd try to be friendly...
I dunno...it just doesn't seem right for them to have to hate each other...it's really dumb. xp

Oh! I like the picture when it's night-time in the Guilds! XD
Anyway, back on track. Yes, the Gryffindor hating Slytherin thing is rather dumb. I mean...it's just for the sake of hating! And evil just to be evil is rather stupid as well. I liked that in Harry Potter. They weren't evil to be evil. They actually believed that the way they acted was right!
Of course, I think Fenrir is a different story...

That's true. Of course...that makes me think of my characters...Rose wants to enslave the world. Of course, that's for her power...and she's almost like Satan's daughter, so it makes sense. I guess Christina and Lucy and all them just follow her because they want advantages.
That could be like the deal with Voldemort and his death eaters.
Anyway, that was really off subject. ...Speaking of Fenrir Greyback...I had a really weird dream that made me think of him...*PMs Mokey*

Anyway, that was really off subject. ...Speaking of Fenrir Greyback...I had a really weird dream that made me think of him...*PMs Mokey* Off topic: I had to comment more on what I said.
Rose is a sadist, along with Christina, Lucy, Gara, Banin, Garudo, Ujin...and whoever else I can't think of right now who's on their side. So...they all fit together in the "let's conquer the world and enslave everyone"...
Plus Rose is also destined to destroy me, because she knows that I'm supposed to kill her...so right off she hated me. And once I learned of her and how she was, I hated her.
So...she's not evil to be evil, and neither are the others. Although there is the hate thing like how Gryffindors and Slytherins hate each other...Gara hates Sorojo and Sleemo since they're of a certain race...and I'm not sure if I'd consider it racism or anything but y'know...the Belveks hate the Jushugans because of the way they live life...and how they let their women have many more freedoms. sweatdrop
...........
So yeah...VERY off topic but I couldn't resist answering my own question further...
Although also...if you think about it, Sleemo is sadistic...but he's not an evil character. He's on our side. He just has personal grudges...obsessions...that's why he mainly directs his sadisticness towards Jack and Antell...a certain liking for them. But he would never want someone to conquer the world...

I just thought of something... Maybe they are out there? It's just that...because they are in a different house, it's a bit easier for them to hide it? I dunno. Just...no one would suspect them...like Peter for example! The only person that didn't trust his loyalty was Remus and that's because Remus is just good at reading people (because he's cool like that).
I mean...I know Peter isn't a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw but...he's not a Slytherin, either!
So...I'm sure they're out there. Just...not as widely mentioned because not many people suspect them.

I think I remember JKR mentioning something about a Hufflepuff deatheater at one point, but I don't remember exactly. Wasn't Barty Crouch Junior a Hufflepuff or something of the sort?
