Best Job / Race
BRD/WHM/BLM/SMN = Tarutaru
WAR/NIN/SAM/MNK/DRK = Elvaan (WAR is best used as a DD for this job)
RDM/BRD/DRG/BST = Hume
WAR/PLD/NIN/MNK/DRK = Galka (if you use WAR as a Tank)
THF/NIN/RNG = Mithra
this is my opinion of the "bests"
each race can play every job excellently, you just need to put more time and money into a tank job, if you're a taru.
and more MP+ items into a galka playing a Mage.
Things to know:
Tarutaru - low HP, high MP, High CHR, low STR and VIT (Attack and DEF)
Hume - Jack of all trades, has no high stats, tied with Tarutaru for highest CHR.
Galka - High HP, Low MP, High STR and VIT (Vit Higher) Low CHR
Elvaan - High HP, Low MP, High STR and VIT (Str higher) Low CHR
Mithra - Decent HP and MP, High DEX/AGI, Medium CHR

Elvaans and Humes (In That order) make the Best WHM's, THe only thing They lack is the MP of a Taru :3

I'm a level 36 Dark Knight Elvaan and it kicks a**!! The only down side is that I can't take much beats yet >.< Once I start dealing out the mega damage in the 180-200's I have to have every available healer to start healing hard nuts xd But I hear thats not a problem in the higher levels blaugh

Half of them can't hit water if they fell out a boat. If you don't have much ACC up gear, at higher levels your gonna have problems.

hi fellow noob yeah i wanted basicaly the same thing so i ended up choosing a red mage. i eventualy want to become a rdm smn combo and i was wondering if anyone knows if this is good

you can do anything with any job so it doesnt really matter
just things like a taru pld and galka brd or smn will be joked at but thats not to say they are bad.
I got 2 chars. My taru is a RNG/THF atm, will have nin sub soon enough, and my mithra is a SMN/WHM yet I still level BLM because i like having warp x3
I'm a kick a** BLM with mithra.
Most people think "right. Taru + blm = i rule" or "hume + any job = i rule" but its not like that.
Its how you use the job, what tactics you use and stats are important but not as important as being able to USE the job. If your a bad BLM who just nukes EVERY fight with random spells as a taru your going to die FAST because of the low health. and If your a bard who stands in the middle of everyone and just sings songs depending on what u feel like doing it wont work.
Ive seen a galka rock at being a bard
and ive seen taru's rock at being wars , nin or pld!
so it depends on.. WHAT U WANNA LOOK LIKE!

3nodding Thanks for all the help! In the end when I got this game, I got some real help and I decided I was going to be a PLD! So I went and leveled WAR to 32 and then started leveling PLD. I'm really glad I chose this it's pretty fun! My jobs ETC. are in my journal! Oh, and I chose Hume! ninja
