I've read the Hobbit and I got halfway through the Fellowship and I just got bored. I was reading another book at that time and wanted to put off reading this one as long as I could... sweatdrop In my eyes, the movies were better than the books, at least the first one. But that's just my opinion. Pay no mind to me. neutral Loved the Hobbit though...

iRusco I agree, the movies were remarkable. Unless you look at the details. The Elves didn't just come to Helm's Deep, and Arwen wasn't the warrior elf princess Jackson made her out to be, she wasn't even a princess! And the Army of the Dead got too big of a job, there was no Tom Bombadil, no Barrow-wrights, so anyone who'd only seen the films didn't know why it was necessary for Merry to stab the Witch King with his blade, Celeborn had his character badly altered, as did Legolas. But overall, yes, the movies were magnificent. Although to get the full Tolkien experience, don't skip the books. he got the majority of the book correct. It's a long book, with tons of details though. And arwen kinda is a princess. She's the daughter of Elrond and Galadriel. I think I remember reading that anyway...

Yeah, that's why I have no problem with the movies overall. But Arwen was the daughter of Elrond and Celebrian. Galadriel is Arwen's grandmother and Celebrian's mother. And Arwen's father is a Lord, so that makes her a Lady, not a Princess.

I have only seen the movies. The books were incredibly boring to me. I gave up about 200 pages in. Some books like those are just too hard too follow. I was already confused. I love the movies though! XD
