Carrie was one of my favorite books by Stephen King.

I thought it was really well written and it was his first book. He actually threw it out (or so I've been told by my dad many times) and his wife dug it out of the trash.

I thought the movie was kind of disappointing in some ways. The new one was kind of inaccurate. Carrie lived in the end of it, creating a happy ending. Carrie is clearly a tragedy, and I felt like they ruined it. The original Carrie was allright, but please stick to the book.

What did you think of Carrie? Did you like it?

I refuse to watch any of King's movies (that were books first, which excludes Rose Red) on principle. But the book was exceptional. I recently persuaded my cousin to read it. She hasn't finished yet (slow reader) but she liekd it so far and I'm hoping to convince her to read The Shining next.
Wow, you and I have 2 things in commone, SK & John Lennon. That's cool.

Quite cool. 3nodding

Cousin never read Carrie by the way. Stupid girl bought it and never read it.

Oh man, that's unfortunate. Dolores Claiborne, Misery, Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, Green Mile were all EXCEPTIONAL movies. Don't miss out, you'll love them! Okay, Maximum Overdrive, The Stand, Pet Semetary, etc. were all pieces of crap, but don't miss the other 4 movies, they were great!

I would never in my life watch Misery, even if you paid me. 1) Too horrific. What I saw in my memory (or heard rather. The sound of the ax pulling out of the partly severed bone) made me cry. Don't need to see it acted out. 2) I've seen what the actors look like in it and I don't like them, plus the simple fact that they changed the ax to a hammer pisses me off enough not to watch it.

I would probably watch The Green Mile because I like Tom Hanks a lot and I've seen bits and pieces of it already on TV and I liked it. Dolores Claiborne I can't speak for because I haven't yet read it. I don't think I'd watch Stand By Me because I liked the story too much and I couldn't risk ruining it in my head. The Shawshank Redemption is also a maybe because I have no desire to see prison rape or anything like that.

Wait there is a new one? The only Carries I have seen are the one with sissy spacek (?spelling) and then Carrie 2: the Rage with a new girl, supposedly Carrie's half sister by the same father that is how she came to have the same abilities as Carrie.
What's this new one and when did it come out?
