"Alasdair...leave the rabble to it's own devices and grab up the woman, we have what we came for now"
Wiping blood from his eyes, he barely registered the command that was given to him. Keeping his eyes on Tomlin, he trudged menacingly towards the pair, blood streaking down the sides of his face as though to warpaint his scowl into a horrifying face of terror.
He turned half ways as he approached Letalus, swiftly lifting his leg. Mechanically, the force of a bulldozer charged through his foot, planting squarely into Letalus' temple. The "statue" of a man started to lumber over.
Simultaniously, Alasdair tossed one of his force blade's directly at Tomlin's head, the boomeranging motion meant for decapitation instead of simple injury.
As his leg planted into the ground, the weight of Letalus ripped at the clothing of Merro's he had been holding onto.
"Try to flee, and I'll gut you. The mage can take his time stitching you up while I play with your entrails." he said, locking eyes directly with hers. He then swiftly hoisted her off the ground and into his shoulder, her motions much like a ragdoll being slung. Her head connects harshly with his back, the feeling much like a watermelon smashing on cobblestone pavement.

Tomlin started to charge towards them as the maniac headed towards Letalus.
He was met with a sawing motion to his neck of the blade starting to sever his head from his body.
He could feel a lurching pull from his stomach, as his body went cold, starting from his hand. Time slowly went backwards a few seconds, the events replaying as if Tomlin was observing rather than participating in the action.
And suddenly, Tomlin found himself back into his body, as if time had reversed. The blade again was heading towards him.
Déjà vu...
He had just enough time to pitch to the side, the blade instead cutting a line from his neck instead of decapitating him completely.
As blood started to gush from the wound, Tomlin grabbed at his throat. Trying to concentrate, black edges encircling his vision, he starts to heal the wound. The flow staunched, gasping, he passes out into the ground.

Leana quickly thought of what she could do...only one choice: pursue. She had no idea what was wrong with the others, but couldn't let her little (now big) furry friend be taken away to heavens know where.
Swiftly she pursued the demon girl as fast as she could, her katars out and ready for blood.
"Majit: Expeditte mon!"
She hissed her spell quietly, and quickly she shot the spell down her body, and blue lights began to glow around her ankles. Her speed increased a bit, and now she was running about 25% faster. A nifty spell she'd picked up when a stealth mage had stayed a while in the monastary
Now that you mention it, he looked a bit familiar...
Leana shot the thought from her head. Later. For now, she needed to save Nova, FAST.

Letalus' gaze had continued to burn unnaturally in an unblinking stare that followed the mage. It wasn't until the kick that he blinked -- not only could he move again, but he could think a little more clearly, his programming overridden by something more powerful. "Merro!" he roared, his voice like a landslide, his face certainly expressive now. Black rage shadowed his face and he leapt toward Alasdair in a last mad attempt to bring him down and bring his charge back into his arms, where she belonged.

What pitiful remnant of survival instincts yet remaining to her was smothered under this latest shock, and Logic did not offer up the notion that the reality of a Letalus statue before her must mean that there was an equally real malevolent mage nearby, while Memory provided her with no such useful reminders of the other deadly enemies scattered about. A tentative tugging of the tunic clenched in her fists yielded no results, and she loosed his clothing to reach up with trembling fingers for his face as if hoping to draw that frozen, steely gaze down to meet her own eyes. To see him look at her again.
A fruitless thought, of course, not even worthy of being called hope. While his clothing was pliant as ever and the strands of his hair whispered against Merro's fingers, the flesh under them was unyielding as rock.
The moment was shattered as a foot suddenly shot out and kicked Letalus over as if he were of no more account than a stick blocking a path, almost crushing one of Merro's hands in the high strike. The young woman startled, her open hands instinctively curling tight in reaction to the kick and in expectation of falling over as well, but instead of being carried along in Letalus' frozen embrace Merro found herself torn away from him.
She came away with brown and gold hair clenched tight in her hands while a goodly section of her bodice was ripped away as Letalus had grabbed at her clothing while holding her to him, and then Merro was whirled around to face her new captor, her shoulders held painfully tight as he growled into her face. The gruesomely graphic threat was effective enough that she was stunned into remaining mute and still long enough for the stranger to throw her over his shoulder.
Letalus might have handled her before without regard for her station, but this was something different entirely. The violence of the act fetched her temple a blow against the man's back, and the stunning pain nearly sent her into a faint. Her eyes had squeezed shut at the blow, and she gasped and opened them again, tears of pain now mixing with her earlier anguish.
She tried to blink away the blurriness and lifted her head as well as she could in her awkward position as her kidnapper began to walk away with her, trying to see what was about her. She had no time to look about, however, as all of her attention was captured by the sight of Letalus restored to animation. And then some.
Black-clad, battle-stained and his face twisted in rage, he was an arresting sight, and his shout tore an answering cry from Merro's throat.
"Letalus!"

As she bounded from rock to rock, Tiff gave one last wistful goodbye glance over her shoulder. She was somewhat alarmed to find PetPerhaps not gazing longingly after her, but in hot pursuit with blades drawn.
Tiff gave an undignified cry of alarm, "Eep!"
With Stabby Stabbington chasing her, perhaps a more direct route was in order after all. Tiff abandoned her rambling path for a headlong dash directly for Azazeal. Her long leaps and bounds quickly ate up the distance between them. She finished with one last long leap, landing at Alasdair's side and adopting a casual expression as though nothing had happened.
...and then she saw the girl over Alasdair's shoulder. Her casual expression turned to outrage. "What!?! I had to capture Nova by myself so he could have time for chasing pets and casual bodice-ripping? Oh! Oh!" She clenched her fists and stamped her foot, at a loss for words. "Ooooooh! This is so unfair!"

Leana noted the demon's desire to get away from her, but it only drove her determination further. But then she saw that the demon had reunited with her friends...if she reached them, what would she do? She surely couldn't fight these three mages together...
And there were the others. Catching sight of them caused Leana to lose her attention, and suddenly her foot nudged itself nicely underneath a tree root, and she swung face first into the path.

As both of his associates reached the correct proximity, Azaezal placed his hands on each of their shoulders. Smirking at Letalus, his voice was crisp and sharp, "Too little, too late..." A flash, a glow, and nothing but small bits of clothing outside the circle remained as they all vanished into thin air.
[Meanwhile.. in another location]
A vortex opens in a dimly lit room. Rising up, the dislocation shunts three figures into this space and time.
"Send our new guests to their rooms. I'm sure they'll be delighted to see their new accomidations." as he moved towards a locked room in the back, the faint glow of purple stretching underneath the doorway.

As Letalus approached, Alasdair turned, swinging the energy blade still in his hand wide to strike off his head.
....and instead caught the shadow of a dmily lit room.
Cursing Azaezal's timing, he did as instructed, bringing Merro out of a door and down a set of winding stairs. These stairs went down for several floors, as the tower in which they arrived was never really well placed to hold prisoners.
"I suggest you become comfortable. The torture you'll endure here will break more than just your spirit." he chuckled, spitting at a door as they passed on their way to Merro's cell. "Home.. sweet home." he said, tossing her into the room as he shut and barred the door.
