staplegunman Ah, it's nice to see Genchou and Genshoku listed... it's really hard for me to dislike any era of D'espairs Ray's music even though it has continually changed, though luckily not very drastically. I agree. Whenever they have changed, they've taken grace with them in every stride, and still made the music as intense as it was. They will always have the same feel, no matter how much they change, I think. Heh, gives me shivers. Well, Digressing...: In Vain Grudge Tainted World Quarter Void Mary of the Blood Born Infection Mirror Dears Subliminal Effect

All are excellent choices. I must confess though I didn't bother to listen to Quarter void at all for several years until I bought the Born minialbum/single and it was on it. It seriously is such a good song.

You know to be honest, I skipped past it on the album as well, because I was more entranced by other songs, but once I actually took time to listen to the song all the way through, I was hooked on it, haha. Especially his scream towards the middle of the song, it was (not to sound weird) very beautiful to me, in a way.

No, I agree. It really surprises me how much I overlooked by them because all of it is equally as good.

Same here. It seems that, the more I seem to listen to them, the more the songs I didn't particularly care for begin to grow on me. Like, Mary of the Blood was a bit odd to me, but now it plays and I sing along, heh. It was very difficult to choose my favorites, actually. Especially lately, since I've been listening to them more often these days.
(In fact, just today I was chastised for it when I should have been paying attention.)

xXBelphegorXx Oh god XD I have so many favorites but lately, I've found myself listening to Animal Mania Screen SIXty∞NINe Reddish Kogoeru yoru ni saita hana the most x3 Animal Mania - I can't remember if I had any difficulties with that file name... it was a good song, whatever it was but I can't remember if that was the actual title Screen- hauntingly good SIXty - NINe - Feel you, feel you, Nasty dance! Reddish-DIVA version- - Not quite as "DIVA" as the name implies, dark and haunting Kogoeru yoru ni saita hana - I'm actually surprised how many people list this one among their favorites. It's not one of my favorites by DR, but it's not a bad song, just a little strayed from the style that I prefer DR for.

i think, i better like their older songs... i also like the coll:set album very much. when i first listened to mirror i was a bit shocked because they were changing very much but i still love them. so this are my favourites: reddish genshoku maverick subliminal pig in vain 0214 (valentine) hollow closer to ideal desert fascism it is so unfair that they aren't allowed to play this in germany -.- i'm german and still wanna see them performing this song >.<'

From your list I love Subliminal, in vain, hollow, closer to ideal, and Desert tho most. I actually prefer MAZE over PIG, but my friend is the same way as you, she loves PIG. At first I was very disappointed that Desert wasn't on Mirror, but I must not have obtained the right version, because my friend bought just the CD (not the CD+DVD version) and that one had the extra song, and it was Desert. I'll have a hard time figuring out which version of Mirror to buy because I love DVDs but I also love Desert. I guess it'll all depend on whether I can find a decently priced Squall single, then I'll get the CD+DVD version.

In vain is fantastic. It came on yesterday when we were working on homework at my friend's room, she had her itunes on shuffle, so I had to take a quick headbang break XD
