1st Post: Main Rules
2nd Post: Request-to-join Form
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) This guild is to discuss Tolkien's books, and whatever other topics you wish to discuss. Seriously. We have this guild now to get to know other Tolkien fans. But you better be literate. We don't want movie fans who hate/never have read the books here. Leave if this is the case and don't bother applying.
2.) If you are copying and pasting things from The Grey Company's website, you probably can't speak Tolkien Elvish. The Grey Company's language is loosely based on Tolkien's Quenya. It is not the real deal.
If you would like to learn accurate Elvish, try Arwen-Undomiel.com or Ardalambion.
3.) What Falathrim said. (...don't ask)
4.) Be literate when posting, and when applying to the guild. It makes it a lot easier for the rest of the guild members to read, and there tends to be a higher respect for those that know how to type properly. Netspeak is Melkor incarnated.
5.) It's a good idea that before you post a new topic, you look and see if there is already a topic on that subject on the front page. Don't copy other people's threads either. New and original threads are always welcome though, and don't be afraid to make a thread.
6.) Subjects here have a tendency to move slowly. Please, do not bump your threads in here unless they have gone a few days without comment, and the topic can still be discussed.
7.) Be pleasant when posting. We'll be nice to you if you'll be nice to us. Simple concept.
8.) If you don't like The Lord of the Rings, or any of Tolkien's works, then don't even bother to apply to the guild. Seriously. We don't want you. Which, you know, I've already stated. But it needs to be stated again, because it's really important, we want the literate ones here.
9.) We are all highly defensive of our friends, so please don't try and pick fights in guild threads and believe that you are free from repercussion. We will defend our friends. If you have an issue with a guild member, it is best to take it to PM so that it can be discussed without interruption from others.
10.) Apply using the Request to Join form. It's down there in the second post. It's your friend. IT LOVES YOU!
11.) Treat the Crew members as well as the guild Captain with respect. If you have an issue with a decision that any of these people have made, then please PM that person individually, or if you don't know who made the decision (say, you were declined entry and it wasn't posted as to who declined you) PM the Captain to find out why.
