Literature, baking, knitting, historical costuming (Bustle and Natural form Victorian especially!), Atlus games Areas of expertise: Baking, general cooking, animal care (reptiles, birds, etc), nerding it up in public Reason for joining the Guild: I was homeschooled the whole way through, and my older sister partway, so you might say I have a long-standing interest in the subject. Other: I grew up very involved in the early homeschooling movement in the south, and remain very involved. I have fond memories (ha) of being bored to tears as an 8-year-old listening to the legislature debate on whether or not I and other children like myself were actually getting a solid education (verdict: we were). Homeschooling is a fantastic venture, but it's not for every child (it didn't work for my sister) and not for every parent (if I had a nickel for every one who got overwhelmed and had to give up...). I'd be glad to talk to anyone, whether you've got questions, want to vent about your French homework (been there, done that, hated it), or just want to chat about your own experiences.

Interests: teaching children at thier own pace, helping others to learn, reading, writing children stories and much more.
Areas of expertise: I'd have to say my expertise is dealing with children who have learning problems of any kind. Lots of experience doing it, since my daughter was three.
Reason for joining the Guild: to meet and talk to other homeschoolers and their parents, to find new resources to help me and to have deep conversations with other homeschooled teachers and children.
Other: I have homeschooled myself once I graduated from school. I learned nothing in public school and decided to teach my self by reading everything I could get my hands on. I study more subjects than I every was given a chance to learn in public school. I use the A.C.E. diagnostic test to see what my children might be lacking, then I add what ever their interest is.

I'm introducing Sharp Santini for her. This was her join request. Sharp Santini I'm a close personal friend of crew member Rilian, who invited me to join. I've always been a strong advocate for children's welfare/rights, and I've done extensively researched writings on why public schooling as it currently exists in the United States is not conducted in a manner consistent with the best interest of anyone (barring that of the massive bureaucracy). It's so well written that I wanted it preserved.

Reason for Joining the Guild: I've been Educated from home for the past 10 years of my life and thought best to join a guild that is about Home education. Plus I joined because my girlfriend is also in this guild! (Xyminso)

Reason for joining the Guild:I wanna hang out with other homeschoolers.
Other: My mom teaches me, I have been homeschooled all my life.
I am girly/sporty, and a gamer. I am a Leo, meaning that I can sell Ice to an Eskimo lol
I lived in California originally but moved to Mars...lol I kid you I live in K*E*N*T*U*C*K*Y, land of horses and tobacco. I guess that's a perfect place for me to live, because I love horses, I even collect them. But I only have 9 sets so far. I love games like, Halo, Final Fantasy VII/X-2, Doom, Star wars, and mario. The reason I said I live on Mars is because my favorite rock band is 30 Seconds to Mars, they're my ULTIMATE favorite band ever. I love, love, love Rock Music. The classics are my favorite, ACDC, QUEEN, Lynard Skynard, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, The Who, Nirvana, The Beatles, Pink Floyd. These are all the classics I heard while I was growing up. I also listened to *some* pop music, like N' sync, Britney Spears, Christina A , Destiny's Child,
Beyonce, and I love Utada Hikaru right now, she's awesome. I am now more into the now rock/alternative music, like
CheVelle,Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Thirty Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace, Panic At The Disco, Breaking Benjiman, A Perfect Circle, Disturbed, Jet, and Wolf Mother.
Favorite Movies:
Ghost, Advent Children(Cloud and Aerith are so romantic), 50 first dates, Titanic, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and anything else!

Greetings.
I am 26, and the proud mother of two. We are currently unpreschooling the elder, and the younger child is still a fetus so not very active in the outside world.
I myself was homeschooled back in highschool, and it was overall a positive experience. My husband and I plan to continue homeschooling our children until at least Middle School, at which point we'll see what everyone wants to do.
I suppose that I will spare you my full reasons for homeschooling and personal life philosophies and everything else for now. smile
My current major interests include early child development, regular and alternative teaching methods, babies, and toddlers. I am also interested in nature, the joy of playing outside, politics, my local homeowners' association, history (particularly of Ancient Greece,) mythology, sociology, and anthropology.
Areas of expertise: Motherhood, nursing, babies, and politics, generally speaking.
Reason for joining the Guild: Simply the obvious ones. smile
