Ugh, I've done so much training that at this point, a kick is like "whatever" xD the first time I got kicked I was like O_O OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG AM I BLEEDING IS IT BROKEN AM I GOING TO DIE SHOULD I BE ON THE GROUND CALL 911!! Now I've learned how to "roll with it" and s'all good xD like my kick in the head I was like "this can't be good", got up, rubbed my forehead, got back on the horse rofl I've been trampled once and once I was knocked over and fell right under hoofs, and I've been jumped over, dragged, stomped on... rofl I'm a kamakazee. But again, it just comes with training as many/the types of horses I have.

What my mom does, because she tunes up horses, she makes me hold the horse before she gets on.
And she has a routine with the horses that she pats them wherever possible (butt, side, etc.).
That's what I would do until the horse stands still.

But again, it just comes with training as many/the types of horses I have. quick question lol... how easy are drafts to train?... a laid back giant of a horse lol it usually depends on the horses brain. we used to have a 18 hand draft that was a total flake. now we have a 17 hand horse that i rode double with me and my mom with the saddle (mom in saddle, me on butt). and he stood still while i got on (that probably took about a minute) because my grandma tried to lift me but i was too heavy but i was halfway on and my mom tried to pull me up, then g-ma pushed me on. in short, depends on the horses brain.
