In all honesty the Mane-Wolf had been simply stalking random creatures all day, it wasn’t so much scaring the innocent creatures for fun, but seeing how close he could get before they noticed his presence and bolted off. It had been three times in a row so far he had been three yards away, and it was that next step he always took that scared them off. His muscles by time he’d get that close where shaking because of the strain of keeping his motions fluid and silent and holding still when the slightest hint of sound came from his feet. This time, it was a Zebra, the seemingly largest of the group, and he was within three yards yet again, he was just behind the zebra, but if he moved even more than an inch the zebra would notice him out of its peripheral.
The creature had its head down the entire time, but now he was within Tu’s limit break, the animal had its head up and looking around, it could smell Tu, but it couldn’t see where he was, or even where in the general vicinity he was at, all it could tell was he was very very close, and because of this, the smell seemed to come from underneath it. It stomped it’s hoof trying to scare him up, but his muscles only moved to the stress he was putting them under, a small vibration in his right front leg, it was stretched out in front of him and there was no doubt that it was holding his upper half up off the ground. It was only a few inches but it might as well been a few feet… The Zebra flinched and stayed in its awkward position, it hacked its alarm the other horses and they uneasily moved away from the warning, it though was frozen in place, not knowing where Tu was; the Mane-Wolf took three more fluid steps, not making a single sound, the corners of his lip twitched as he anticipated a quick hoof to the face. The Zebra turned quickly towards the wolf, and just stood there looking at him, he couldn’t help but grin, he’d broken his record, and the animal didn’t take off, though it seen him, Tu still counted it as a record breaker. Just laying in his spot where he had landed the Wolf was frozen in place, his legs ached and his heart pounding, but honestly there wasn’t a single pain in his mind, a rush, that is if you want to call it that, kept his logical part of his mind dormant, and his imagination thriving. He growled and the Zebra almost fainted, but jumped up in place kicked in some random direction that wasn’t even any where near the dog and took off. He stood and watched as the heard ran off, he chuckled to himself and limped to a large rock that was jutting from the ground and laid himself out into the warm sun, it was nice being a Mane-Wolf this time of year.
So much to eat, and so little to do; Mating season was coming again soon, and he hadn’t the slightest idea to who other than himself was around. As far he knew, he was the only Mane-Wolf in the area…
