Derra woke up after the blade had been pulled out. At least he heard everything Jenni had to say. He decided it was best to listen to her and avoided moving around to much. He looked up at kawaii and cracked a smile." Like a million bucks." He said sarcastically. "I don't want to go through that again. And i sure as hell don't want to stay here." He said as he tried standing up slowly as to not open up his scratch.

Kawaii pursed her lips as if wanting to tell him to sit his a** back down, but didn't. She stood up as well and brushed sand off her pants.

"Back to your dorm I think?" Kawaii stated more then asked.

Derra sigjhed and looked at kawaii."Do I have too?" He asked like a little kid when they ask their parents if they have to do something. "Can't we do something more fun?" He knew the answer was going to be a direct nooooooo. With each and every single o counted for.

"Absolutly not! What Jenni says goes when it comes to medical treatment and if she had to use her sword you're obviously pretty messed up. Envy wasn't around otherwise I'd have her come...she could've healed the scratch not just taken away the pain," Kawaii said not realizing Envy caused the attack.

"Now back to your dorm."

"aw come on this sucks. your acting as if you were my mother." Derra said with a sigh. He began to walk towards the dorms. When he mentioned envy, the scene of where he was hurt came back to his mind. He didn't want to say anything that Envy was the one that caused the damage to his heart. "hey you coming?" He asked the girl as he continued walking towards the yutani dorms.

"Yup. You walk fast for someone who is supposed to have damage to their heart," Kawaii groaned as she stuggled to keep up in the loose sand.

"Are you calling me old?" Kawaii asked at the mother comment.

Stepping lightly with dancer's feet, Ellen side-stepped a long strand of fresh, glinting sea weed. The full moon was high above in the sky, pulling the waves forward with handy work and obvious admiration. Ellen stop momentarily to stare up at the moon, heavy-set, glimmering grey eyes large with respect. Anything or anyone who was able to be alone for so long was of great status. It takes alot of strength to be so desolate for so long. With a slight shake of her head to snap out of the trance, her healthy curls of ebony locks fumbled over each other as if they were fawning over her delicate, frail face. A royal blue velvet dress hugged Ellen's frame as if it was hanging over a bottomless pit and had to cling to a rope for its dear life. It reached just mid-thigh, allowing the salty breezes of freezing air to lick at Ellen's pale legs. Shivering, Ellen pulled the thick wrap tighter around her shoulders, goosebumps arising on her thighs and slender arms. In a frail attempt to get warmer, Ellen began walking again. She looked towards the sand to where her hair veiled her striking facial features. The beach was deserted. The feeling of loneliness tugged at her heart strings, allowing her to realise that she really was just human and that was all she could ever be. It was a chilling thought, causing her to shiver once more. Ellen pulled tighter at her wrap, if it could wrap any tighter, looking once again out towards the ocean.

A man adjusted his black Billy Gene hat, pulling it farther over his eyes, managing not to disrupt the lit cigarette hanging from his lips. He lounged over the rocks, great boulder types, near the ocean, listening to the roar of the waves. This man's name, was Matt. He was dressed from head to toe in black, black hat, black open collar dress shirt, black jeans and a black trenchcoat. On his left ear was a plain spherical earring made of ivory, and his right eye was lined with a thin line of black. His hair, though hidden by the hat, was short and spiked up, except for a line of bangs left down to his cheekbones to frame his white face.

Matt plucked the f** from his mouth, extended his arm, and tapped the stick gently, letting the smoldering ashes fall to the sand. He returned it to his mouth, took a long drag, and proceeded to deftly blow smoke rings into the black sky. The man did all this without raising his eye lids to reveal icy blue eyes.

Matt shifted his weight, a rock was digging into his back, when he heard the shift of sand. Languidly he peeked through the gap left between his face and hat, and scanned the horizon. A woman, or girl (he couldn't tell her age in the dark), was stepping lightly along the shoreline. A pebble of curiosity gave a passing impression in his mind before Matt decided to go back to sleep. What she was doing was her business. Once more, he tapped the ashes from his stick, and closed his eyes.

Ellen faltered in her steps, squeaking softly as a small hermit crab clawed its way out of the sand right infront of her right foot. She blinked incoherently, watching the small creature as it pushed itself out of the sand and onto the shore. Ellen smiled softly as it began crawling towards the water, only to have her breath stop short as the waves rolled up like a stalking tiger and the crab merely became it's toy; the small hermit crab spiraling out of control of the waves pulled it into the ocean. Ellen just stood and stared, blind-sided for a moment with disbelief. Closing her eyes, she shook it off once more and looked up. She was closer the the rocks, and so now she was able to notice the man perched comfortably upon one of them. The pungeant fragrance of cigarette smoke interlaced with the salty air, pushing against her face. Her nose wrinkled in detest at the disgusting smell. A hand raised towards her delicate face to cover her nose, obviously not taking a liking to the smell of smoke. Her eyes shifted back towards the sand, landing on a small stone. Delicate, fragile fingers curled around the stone as she bent over to pick it up. The surface was smooth, probably ground down by the grains of sand rubbing against it, it's chill sending shivers up her arms. Ellen shifted to the side, concentrating at the waves lapping against each pther infront of her. Tossing her rock gently, Ellen watched as it plopped heavily into the water. A grin spread across her full lips at the sound.

Matt opened his eyes as he perceived the break in the sound of the ocean. He shifted his head to the side and gripped his hat with one hand, pulling it back to have a better view of the girl. Her position told him she had just thrown something, her direction said it had landed in the ocean. He almost decided to dismiss her, but he figured he'd have difficulties sleeping with all the sound she made.

Matt sat up and snuffed his f** on the side of a rock, dropping it between a crack. He then got up and wandered down the rocks, replacing his hat to better show off his cool blue eyes. Once he reached the bottom of the rocky part of the beach, Matt could decide the age of the girl. Around 18 it seemed. An interesting age. She looked cold, not much he could do about that. Not that he wanted to.

He proceeded to some up behind her. "Hello Miss," Matt said, tipping his hat to her. He was wearing black gloves of an interesting fabric, short ones, barely reaching his wrist. In his manners, he was a sophisticated gentlemen. A tip at the waist was all that revealed a bow to the women, the hat saying the rest.

Fay stared out towards the ocean for a moment in soft silence. She lightly rubbed the part of her cheek that Jarren had touched a while ago, her skin hot in just that one spot. Her hair too. She couldn't help but wonder if it had felt weird? Were there tangles in it? Had he touched some other girl's hair when he was a human or when he was up in heaven even? The thoughts passed from her mind though, along in the storm they had come in when she had recalled the rejection. Promptly, always reminding herself that she had to keep a distance emotionally for if she got too attatched to him then it'd be a nasty state of affairs for him as well as her. Still the way he smiled at her a bit, drew closer to her, said her name, it made her thoughts turn towards a positive side. And so she just buried the feelings that rushed up along side of her, trying to gently start replacing his touch with the one that Roger had. No. That wasn't right, friends hugged right? So she refused to let go of the memory of such things, as long as she didn't act or tell him any of this then it wasn't aganist the fence that he had seemed to put up between them silently. And he had spoken so much to her previously too, she couldn't have refused him even if she supposed to have done something extremely important. Or rather, it seemed extremely important that they go swimming imdately and no matter what. So of course she had agreeded, but at the same time quickly declined the flight to his dorm, because that seemed like it'd require touching. And much like how Roger had previously set the lake on fire, Fay was dead set in thinking that if Jarren ever touched her too long then she'd burst straight into flames and turn to ash right in his grasp. So, she simply walked back to the dorm with Jarren and tried to keep her smile from growing too wide. It wasn't like anything had changed between the two of them romantically, nor did she ever expect it to, but it was lovely to see Jarren's smiles and attiude when it shifted lightly. Her heart was pure and simply glad, none of the worst feelings that could often reside in there resting in there at all. Upon getting to the room she did a quick changed and marched right back out, deciding though that beach would be a better experience for Jarren than a pool, generally it tended to have more people packed in one space anyway. So now Fay stood by the edge of the water, going over these thoughts in her head in mere seconds as she pushed back some of her hair. She never wore anything too reveling, not finding clothing like that attractive or anything, but rather it tended to make her too cold. She wore a red bathing suit top, which was extremely ruffled and almost was more of a shirt, and then a pair of small matching red shorts with white outline for her bottom choice, and still refused shoes. Determined that her ankle would get better faster with less distractions on it like shoes and socks. Though her toes were slightly chilly, especially now that she had taken a bit too long and by the time they got to the beach, the sky was an odd mix of tinted orange and clouds, as it appeared a storm would be on it's way soon. Fay didn't mind, she wasn't the type to go back on a promise, besides when you had your own guardian angel around with you wherever you went, you tended to feel safer. Especaily when it was Jarren.

Without further wait, she tossed her towel down and tugged out her hairties, and made a running jump and slight dive into the water, faintly similar to a dolphine. As she stood up out of the water, she resembled a bunny all over again though, her body trembling as she held herself slightly and ears were all perked downwards. She grinned though, laughing a bit at herself to him, as she waded her way over towards his direction. "It's been a while since I've come out here. Better than I remember!" she said, positive as always as she smiled slightly and soothed out her body so she could lay back and float next to him all the while watching the sky. If you paid close attention you might notice that she wasn't looking at Jarren himself very much. Well swiming generally entailed not wearing a shirt for guys, so she was at a loss for what to do now that Jarren was doing such a normal thing. He probably wasn't thinking about it all. He wasn't the type, but Fay had been trapped in a hat for a good bit of years and before that she had been in a small town full of people like her. Sometimes it was hard to adapt to a being around a beaitful boy every hour of every day, though don't ever misunderstand her with this. Fay didn't mind in the slightest. Pushing away her thoughts a bit more, she jumped slightly, and suddenly her eyes widening as she turned to him. "I-I think something's on my...leg." she said, knowing it wasn't Jarren without even looking because he wasn't the type to pull such pranks. She had choosen the beach water in the first place because it was clear and as she had expected there were no stars here, the beauty untainted by the Magic Man. However now as she glanced down, and lifted her leg up slightly towards him as they both inspected what it was she cringed and then grinned. "Ah it's a...starfish." she said laughing slightly nervously, a little scared but happy, only at Ria would a starfish actually go and cling to a human like that so suddenly, she smiled up at Jarren before turning back to the animal suction cupped to her leg and lightly stroked it, tickling it softly till it broke free off her. She cupped her hands under the water and lightly picked it up, walking over to Jarren with no nerves this time as she wasn't thinking about the close distance between them now, as she put the starfish in his hands, keeping her head down as she grinned, her bunny ears touching the tip of one of his spikes on his hair. She finally looked up at him, realized her postion a bit better, and smile turned a faintest bit akward as she backed away a little more, hardly noticable and yet completely noticable. She hoped he'd forgive her. Speaking of which she looked up at him, suddenly, softly and as always for Fay it wasn't at all intimdating. "Jarren, am I allowed to know...anything about you? I'll take anything I can get." she breathed softly, a bit desperately and suddenly, she only needed his name to survive, but she could rest easier knowing small facts that would contaminate her memory for many long lasting years. Oh she was a fool, but she'd keep her foolish puppy love quiet.

Jarren didn't mind the decision to head to a beach in the slightest. In fact, he seemed almost thrilled, in his own emotionless way, at the very mention of it. He hadn't been to a beach as far as he could remember. But, as he was finding lately, he couldn't remember his time alive very well at all. He remembered the point of his death and onwards, everything that partained to his being an angel and the duties he'd performed... and failed. Ah, but now certainly wasn't the time to think of these things. The brat was gone and he was visiting a beach with Fay. He wasn't sure why, but the fact that it was she he was going with made it just seem all the better. Maybe because he didn't know anyone other than her? Ah, who knew? Either way, he liked the idea, and he was much more cheerful than he had been, even putting up with her decision to walk. "Flying would be much more efficient," he couldn't help reminding her, but then he'd fallen silent and settled. He looked the same as usual, or would to people who didn't know him well. But his eyes were shining with something other than the usually stern seriousness they always held, a sign of his inner cheer. He wasn't at the point where he could fully allow emotion to show again. No, that may be a while to come, depending upon the circumstances he surrounded himself with. For now, he was rather content with his current feeling of emotions and didn't wish to change them. Though, figuring out what this somewhat nagging feeling was might've been good, but he had decided it could wait until later. Surely he'd identify it sooner or later. For now, the beach.

They'd gone back to his room and he'd changed clothes, and it was quite a sight to see. He was out of his long pants, boots, and jacket, and instead wore a simple pair of knee length black shorts, with a single white stripe going down each side from the hip. Rather than a shirt, he draped a towel around his shoulders, and he had opted for the idea of going barefoot as well. Perhaps all he owned were the boots he usually wore, and they certainly weren't suited for something like this. And so, they'd set off again, walking back out from the dorms and to the beach, angel beside bunny, though he was keeping his own wings hidden and would hide her ears again as soon as the command was given. Or rather, request in her case. He didn't think she'd go about demanding things... but he preferred her that way.

He paused for a second as they arrived at their destination, standing with his feet in the warm sand and his piercing eyes staring around steadily at their surroundings. Amazing. He loved it all. The smell of salt water in the air, the sound of the wave's gentle crashing against the shore... It was all very nastalgic, and brief images tried to flicker across his mind, people, a group, laughing and playing together... but none of them were clear. He could recall no faces, not even his own, and so he gave up. It was better to focus on the present than the past, right? If only he fully believed that... He followed Fay into the water, leaving his towel on the sand with hers to keep it dry, not jumping into the liquid like her, but instead wading in calmly. He didn't dive into things unless there were lives at stake, like how he'd charged through the window for Fay's sake last night. That had been an emergency, and proof that he could move quickly if he judged it necessary. Right now, he didn't. He was taking in all the feelings of just being at this place, at the beach again for the first time since, well, his death. But it might as well be his first visit, with his lack of memories. It troubled him slightly, but again he reminded himself he was supposed to be enjoying himself. After all, he'd asked her out to swim. And... it sounded like she'd said there was something on her leg. He didn't feel the need to panic or grow too concerned by it, since he didn't sense any danger around, and his senses were highly charged at the moment since they'd so recently had run ins with the magic man. He casually moved towards her, watching as she lifted her leg, and peered at the little five legged creature that'd latched on. "Nothing to be frightened of," he agreed after she named what it was, nodding his head lightly as he watched her carefully remove it, finding her method quite amusing. And then, it seemed she was handing it over to him. He blinked, and then a rare twitch of a smile tugged at his lips, lingering for a second before fading again. He held the tiny creature gingerly in his grasp, keeping it just under the water's surface, though he knew it'd be fine to come out for a while. He was watching it with an odd sort of fascination as he felt trying to latch onto his hand, and saw little suckers stretching out from the legs to reach for his fingers. But then, the speaking of his name drew his attention.

His head lifted, and he stared at Fay for a moment, before he lowered his gaze once more towards the star. He hadn't seemed to notice how close they were. Or rather, he hadn't shown it. He had secretly enjoyed it, and the feel of her ears brushing his hair had contributed to his smile. But now he was serious again, still and poised, gazing down at the little pointed fish as his mind churned, trying to pick out something to tell her. Of course, his first thoughts were of her, of his failure, and he knew he couldn't tell these things to Fay. It might put doubts in her head, doubts about him. He didn't.. think he'd be able to have her doubt his ability as well. What if she left to find someone else to protect her? He couldn't stand her turning on him like the others, those back up in heaven. He knew what they said about him. He was aware of it. "I..." he started slowly, frowning to himself. "You can know, some things... Some should remain hidden until a later date, when it's more appropriate to be revealed." This, of course, regarded his failure. "For now... I was in a bank, when it happened... There was a robbery. The men were panicked. A girl started crying, and he shot, lost in the rush of things, I suppose. Maybe I was as well, for I jumped in the way and the bullet struck me in the chest. I felt no pain," he reassured her. "I was killed instantly.. but then I came to... and I learned that I had been given the opportunity to become an angel, because of the circumstances of my death and life. And so, here I am..." Here he was? He made it sound like that was the entire story, when it was in fact far, far from it. But he didn'tw atn to tell her. He wanted her to know of a time when he'd helped, when he'd saved someone. Not a time when he'd... let someone perish. He didn't want her to know...

Ah! How foolish a bunny seemed to be. She had brought up the one thing that she had said she wouldn't ever bring up or ask him about, the mystrious past of Jarren. For some reason though she had felt that it was greatly important that she learn about him a bit more, learn anything he'd tell her. To see the smile that was already flickering dangerously drop off once more, bruised her heart though as she wanted to take back the words. Wanted to capture his smile once more and hold it carefully, yet make sure that it didn't go away. Did he know how wonderfully he smiled? It was such a beautiful occurance, like seeing the full and shining moon up in the sky sometimes when it was late at night. Jarren was the type that inspired poetry about every physical trait that he had and all the things he'd say. And how he'd pharse them as well! Fay could certaintly go on and on about things she wanted to say to him, but she kept herself quiet and silent as she watched things unfold. At his first words she pressed her lips open about to say that it was fine to not say anything at all and they should just go ahead and change the subject, but he said much more after that. It was a good thing he had added in that part about how he didn't feel any pain but it didn't stop much in her heart. There were many things she could never blame on Jarren about the situation they were in, but all of these things she had no where to put blame on because they were just normal things resided left inside of her. So when he mentioned his death and how he died, her heart felt a bit like getting hit with a train, there was probably going to be a big bruise on there now if you could see someone's heart. She already knew he was telling her little to nothing and while it stung, she probably couldn't take anything anyway, she reacted to every little thing that Jarren did or said. She was a puppet sometimes, but don't get her wrong she wasn't blaming this on him or drowning in self pity, she just couldn't comprehend the simpliest and most complex of feelings. At the end of the day, Fay just wanted to be held and hugged, but she'd never touch Jarren again if she could help it. Wasn't she a fool? It was almost a joke, how things went on like this, and got no where at all in her ciruclar thoughts stuck on a track. So she tried to pull out of it, and managed to not let her emotions well over for once, trying to be a bit like Jarren. It was difficult. "...I'm glad your here." she said finally, after a long drop of silence, and she let the warming waves crash over her a bit as she pushed out her messy hair, mind a bit stressed. "I...I mean I'd probably get eaten by sharks or something without...Jarren." she said smiling faintly, realizing that her previous words sounded a bit too romantic and she resolved to try and not sound like that to him. Did the words sound annoying? And about his past too, had he loved anyone before her? Had he had lots of fun and a loving family or he opposite way around? Would he have liked her if they were both humans off in their own seperate universe? She had to snap herself out though, and so she reached forward, smiling lightly as she took the starfish and exchanged hands carefully as if the two were holding a person before letting it fall back into the water, watching it drop off eventually onto the underwater sand. Looking back up at him she reached forward and splashed him suddenly, lightly and more pouring the water over him as she grinned a bit. "Ah!....My hand's slipped." she said, unsure herself is she was just joking or she was afraid that the serious angel would end up getting mad at her in the end. Though he hadn't really gotten mad at her before had he? No. She had come to realize that he was rather expressionless, but if you stared directly at his eyes then you could catch glimmers of what he was thinking occosionaly. Wonderful things that he seemed to think and feel.

In the end, her hand had slipped several more times, as she had gone and gotten into a water fight till getting a bit worn out. It had cheered her up though, hopefully it had kept his mood lighter as well, just so long as he wasn't thinking of the past then she didn't mind what she had to do to keep him from doing that. His eyes always got sadder when he did it, no matter how tough he acted, she could always tell when his thoughts drifted away from the situation at hand, or when he was with her and recalled some memory. It hurt a lot. She wanted to fix it and not make it all go away, but heal his memories for him, she just couldn't seem to do this though. She couldn't make Jarren love her either, so she just did the best things she could as a sort-of friend to him. Such things included going around the beach after a good long swim and looking for the coolest of seashells, and also asking a hermit crab polietly if he was still using his shell all that much. And then making some messy sand mountains that were inteded to look much more grand, but Fay supposed if you closed your eyes it looked fantastic. Mount Fay and Mount Jarren where piled up next to each other somewhere on the beach, both of them looking impressive, but Fay's was slightly sloppier as it tended to be. Currently though she was sitting with her legs pressed up against her lightly, her eyes open as she watched the setting sun, days seeming to pass by far faster lately. It was really beautiful though and she was glad to have come here, but the experience wouldn't be anything without being able to show Jarren things. He seemed as if he didn't experience any of it, but she was sure that was a lie, he must just be...confused about things. She worried about it, but was still busy basking in the merry sunlight with a Jarren next to her, still she couldn't look at him head on. Especially now that his body was reflecting and possiably glowing it's own light and he was still half-naked. A stranger would think he was some kind of god. A dirty one would think a sex god. Fay thought none of the above, possiably because the Jarren image was already too inflated to be effected by such things. "A-Alright. I wanna try it out!" she said suddenly as the sun had seemed to fall further under the skyline and she stood up, brushing the sand off her legs. A crab scuttled idle by the two while she looked determined and frightened, and there was a loud pulsing beat in her heart. "Can I...still get a ride from y-you? For home?" she asked, her words not making much sence since she was nervous and spoke oddly when she was like that, but she had asked if she could have him fly her back home now. She was exicted and scared and nervous and also wanted to feel Jarren's arms around her for a moment, even if it was a fake thing rather than a real hug. It must have felt just as good to Fay.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:30 pm

Jarren snapped out of it slightly, hearing her speak. She wanted him here? He wasn't sure what this feeling was that flared up, but he'd been feeling it a lot lately, and it wasn't bad, so he let it linger, a very light, very soft smile trying to tug at his lips again. But as always, the expression didn't fully form. He looked at her curiously though, head tilting just slightly to one side as his eyes finally left the little creature he held. He.. liked that she was here too. He wouldn't let any harm befall her, no matter what. He decided that then, not thinking about how much he'd hate himself even further if she did get injured somehow. His spirits had lifted slightly, keeping thoughts like that out for the moment. "Hmm... I won't let any sharks harm you," he said softly, the soft smile lingering more in his eyes than his lips. He watched as she released the little starfish, secretly enjoying the light touch of her fingers as she retrieved it. Such odd feelings... He still couldn't place them, but he really wanted to be able to. He needed to figure this out. But for someone as serious and cold as him, or as the him of the past several years had been, it was very hard to break from his shell. But he was starting to, very slowly, with the help of his little bunny friend he was taking care of. Or, trying to. He almost felt she was taking care of him at times, putting his things away, folding his clothing, and making tea... Too bad that last memory was tainted with the presense of that demon brat.

He sighed, or started to, but cut off in surprise as water splashed over him. He sputtered, blinking a couple times as his hands lifted to wipe his face. "Your hand slipped?" he said with a light frown, his stern gaze falling over her. But then she'd done it again, and he couldn't help returning the favor, both hands shoveling piles of water on her. To anyone watching, his intense look may make it appear as if he truly was angry and was wishing to really hurt her. But his eyes held his true emotion again, shining with his own dulled down excitement as he actually enjoyed slacking off, playing around with this water war of theirs. Of course, in the back of his mind, his always working self was scolding him, but he ignored it for this girl before him instead. From then, he'd started building over the old, faded images forgotten in time, and replaced them with new clear ones of their times at the beach, the water war advancing to the building of sand mountains, rather than castles. More images tried to force their blurry way into his head, but he ignored them, pushing them back out and staying focused on the now. He belt a mountain with smooth sloping sides, carefully packed together, then stepped back and cracked another faint smile at the sight of Fay's, shaking his head lightly as he patted the top of hers.

And soon, they were resting in the sand, and he was seated on his towel to keep it from clinging to his damp swimming shorts, his body stretched out comfortably in the sun as he watched it sinking down below the horizen. He looked rather content, his mind blank for once, not worrying or over thinking anything for the first time in a while. Today had been.. really wonderful. His head turned towards her when she spoke, and he hesitated for a second, eyes holding brief surprise, then another soft smile. "Alright," he nodded, having watched her reaction to the crab moving by. She really was... special. He wasn't sure if that was the real word he truly wished to use, but he couldn't think of a proper one, so that's what had entered his head. He'd keep it until he came up with something better. For now he stood, then picked up his towel and shook it free of sand. "Will you hold this for me?" she asked, as he handed it to her and waited until she was ready, and then suddenly leaned down, scooping her gently into his arms. He had one across her back, the other under her legs, holding her cradled protectively to his chest, bridal style. He peered down at her, eyes shining in his sterm expression. "I won't drop you," he promised. "There's not a thing to be afraid of. Keep your eyes open as well, alright? It's a rather interesting experience, not to be missed. Though..." He smiled lightly, lips twitching with the urge to let it actually show. "..if you ever wish to go flying with me again.. simply request it." With that, his wings suddenly spread behind them, then thrust downwards, lifting his feet off the ground and sending them abruptly into the air.
