My sister says its because they think country is old and that country is just stupid, more people are into the new stuff like rap/hip-hop/pop/rock/metal so on. they think country is a waste of time. nobody gives it a chance anymore......
((one time at a store i was talking and i have a southern accent and my ipod was playing til the last shots fired by trace adkins and this guy yelled in my ear "COUNTRY MUSIC AND PEOPLE SUCK!" and my sister got really mad so did i O_O i never get mad)

because it isnt "in" and so people wont admit that they like it even if they do! ive asked multiple people and they say no and then like a week later, i ask them if they like keeny chesney(just an example) and theyll be like totally! so idk.... razz

It's simple. THEY THINK IT'S ALL THOSE SONGS THEY HEAR IN CHEESY COWBOY MOVIES!!! Not to mention the fact that they think ALL the songs are depressing! I mean c'mon who here hasn't heard Fast Cars and Freedom or Some Days you Gotta Dance or Better Life? I admit there are some songs like Till Summer Comes Around or More Than a Memory that could bring a tear or two, but sometimes YOU NEED IT! IT'S ABOUT LIFE!

They dont want to believe that country music talks about real things going on and real things that happen so i believe they are either just afraid to admit they love country cause its really good when others say its stupid and pointless or they just like to listen to music that is fake

A lot of people tell me that they don't like country because it's all depressing and it makes you want to commit suicide. WHAT?! Not all country is like that. THat is mostly the oldies. New country is cool, fun, and ispirational!!! 3nodding Why cant people SEE that?!!?

ive read all the post on this and well i can agree with all of them i live in a smal town with mabye 2000 people tops probly less than that but were just a bunch of rednecks and country people trying to get thourgh in life most of the people causeing trouble around here listing to hip hop rap and others the only reason they listin to somthing else is because thats what thier parents did thier trying to escape whats around them thier just trying to escape reatily for the time that they can before thier grown up and have to face it and before i starte gettin comments on this just so you guys know i'm only 16

Because society shuns things that society associates with 'hillbillies'. But what they don't know is that it's not like that. Country's deep as opposed to hip-hop and rap. Rap is just talking to a rhythm really fast to the point where no one knows what you're saying.
