I get thing like that in my school band all the time. A trumpet player came up to me after band and started talking crap about my drumming. I said nothing and help up a piece of music in his face. I had written "play it" on the music. He got mad and tried it. He didn't even know where to start. Then he claimed that he could do a buzz roll. I went ahead and let him try. He did the crappiest single stroke roll you can imagine. By that time, a small crowd had gathered. I took the piece of music and began to play it as he watched in awe. Then I did the roll. I moved the sticks from the head of my snare and onto his head and still continued to roll. He got very mad and tried to knock the sticks away. I backed a step and he lunged at me, only to trip on his own trumpet he had layed down earlier. Score: Drummers/1 Idiots/0
Nice, I love when you own people who think they're the s**t.
The way I do it is to just show them that I know more about music and music theory than they do. It always makes them feel like they don't know much about music.
