Heh, I was thinking about making a topic about commercials.
Several years ago I saw a commercial that may have changed my life.
xd After quite a bit of sleuthing I managed to find it on Youtube, but the video is scaled up from a very small version, so it doesn't look very good at all.
Here it is anyway. In case you can't read it, the text says "winter?" and then "nuclear winter?"
Possibly one of the most sublimely disturbing things I've ever seen. Like I said, I saw it on tv several (10 or more?) years ago, but it really stuck with me. Crazy Texans chainsaw-ing people into smoothies, zombies popping through windows- these things are ho-hum and a dime a dozen. But something like this... It's a seemingly ordinary situation until one subtle detail turns the entire world upside down. It suddenly dawns on you that something is horribly wrong, and that initial panic sets in. It's not frightening so much as it is... eery? I love that feeling, and I think it would be great to one day become an artist and instill that feeling in others.
blaugh It wasn't until I found that video on Youtube that I found out it was directed by David Lynch.
