I started reading Elizabeth Moon about 13 years or so ago.. maybe 14.. dunno..maybe I'm getting old sweatdrop Anyway.. I started reading her Deeds of Paksenarrion trilogy.. and followed that up with her spin off books Legacy of Gird and Oath of Gold however.. after doing those fantasy book she has switched over doign sci-fi space combat fiction.. like the ones David Weber does.. only with characters girls can identify a littl emore easily with (despite D Webers main heroinne, Honor) .

She's done those for the last 10 or so years... and I think she's switched completely and permanantly away from fantasy.. which is too bad because I think she does fantasy better.

Over the weekend I read 2 books of her Captain Vatta series.. however.. Trading in Danger and Marque and Reprise which have turned out to be pretty good pot boilers about a daughter of CFO of Vatta Enterprises (family owned business even thouygh it's incorporated) . She's this EX miltary cadte that's gotten expelled from her academy for an innocent indescretion. He rdad gives her her own ship on a milk run mission to see if she can handle it.. and then all hell breaks loose and pretty soon people are out to kill her and her family .. and she gets to rely on her training at the academy to aid her. It later turns out that she's got a bloodthirsty streak and her old academy instructor sets it up that she gets a letter of Marque.. which essentially allows her to be a privateer for her government.

All not very literary btu very fun xd Her latest (last, i think..) in this series is Engaging the Enemy It's out but I'm holding out for the paperback to come out at the end of January 3nodding

Anyway! There's a series review for yas ..for what it's worth! heart
