Why do you dishonor the Vicomte? He and Christine were truly meant for each other, however rude that sounds toward our Erik. He had not learned truly how to be patient with a woman and they would have lived a life of confusion and hurt together. Though Erik had finally reached out to another than myself he was unable to act properly around poor Christine. They were doomed from the start. So why do you despise Raoul?

I agree with the statement above. And all things considered, Raoul is a rather honorable man to begin with. Many men in the 1800s found it acceptable to beat their partners or sell out her services (whatever they may be). I prefer him to Christine.

Other than Erik, though, Madame Giry from the Movie Version would be my second fav, then Christine. Christine is just growing up, and is confused. She is recieving affection from two men, one previously pretending to be her father and is probably the same age. The other she grew up with and was her sweetheart. Raoul was her first love, but Erik was her true love!! SHE SHOULDN'T MIX IT UP!!! BUT SHE DID!!! She only went with Raoul b/c she knew she had a safe and secure future with rhim.
