*Ayaka looks back up from her sweeping, and resting against the straw broom, she pushes her sweat dampened bangs out of her eyes. Smiling brightly she bows slightly and tilts her head to the side.*
"Konnichiwa... Beautiful day ne?"

" 'Tis," Oh no, another one of those crazies talking in that language. It always took him off guard when they started mixing words. Even though it wasn't terribly hard to follow, it was a bit of a nuisance. He just didn't understand what was so wrong with english. Although his tribe had a different tongue, it was used so rarely that Shouyin could only recall a few words and phrases.
And then he got an idea. What a cruel person he was, but if they assumed he understood that stuff, it was only fair he did the same for another language. Wasn't it?
"Ανδ ωρ θου?" It said something like 'And how're thou?' but it had been so long Shouyin couldn't be entirely sure. Although he knew the woman wouldn't understand it, and that was all he wanted.

*Ayaka's face contorts with confusion as she tries to puzzle out the phrase that this stranger had just presented her with. It was spoken with an accent that she had never before heard, and the words as she mulled them over in her mind were strange and foreign to her knowledge and memory. Sadly she smiles and bows again.*
"I'm sorry but I don't understand... Please forgive me."

"Oh it's no trouble." He smiled a little evily. "I was just playing tricks, having fun." Now what would've been crazy was if she had understood it. That would've blown his mind halfway 'cross the globe. To think, the inquisition that would ensue in a situation like that.
Crap, now he was homesick. For a home that'd never existed at that. Crap.
"I'm Shouyin." Smiles all around. "Who might you be?"

*The young woman smiles, obviously relieved that her lack of comprehension hadn't offended him and she beams up at him, her lilac eyes sparkling*
"I'm called Ayaka. Pleased to meet you Shouyin-san. What language were you speaking before, I've never heard it before that..."

"Oh, I have no idea what it's called, nobody ever decided to name it." Well, it wasn't that they just, didn't decide. Secrecy was the word when it came to anything that involved his old tribe. He pondered slightly, it was a frightening how easily he'd changed, how quickly he'd forgotten his old ways of life.
But that was easily shrugged off.

Cougar walked towards the pond. He had left his stuff in the dorm, and so was carrying light: workout pants, light shirt, no boots. He was only carrying whatever blades he could find in his coat, so he only had a few daggers. Not that he cared. He didn't want to fight, he wanted to relax. At least for now.
He scanned the area, smiling as he watched the koi leap out of the pool. He saw a few people talking, and a young couple entranced in each other...except...
There was something about that couple. He didn't know what it was, but when he looked at them, two words floated across his mind...
...Anserak...
...End-World...
He missed his home, true, but his journey had been long already, and he would find a clue eventually...Haven couldn't hide forever, right? For now, rest was what he needed. The Council wouldn't think to find him here...and wouldn't last long if they did.
He started away from the pond, headed back towards the temple.

*Ayaka watches the platinum haired man with some intrest, curious as to what his origin is.
She tilts her head and smiles gently as she takes a step closer to him, as if to study his face.*
"I'm sorry if I brought unpleasant memories to the surface... You seemed... Sad just now."

Polite smile, that was the way to go, so that's what Shouyin did. He never really got sad. All of the more extreme emotions didn't exactly take to the half-golem's attitude. If anything he was contently discontent, or just happy, depending on whether he wanted to be contradictory or not. He stretched out slightly and stifled and a yawn. Things to do, things to do.
"No worries, nothing unpleasant, just trying to remember things." He tilted his head downwards, letting the hair fall in front of his right eye. If he was going to be on his way, then he'd at least make a little impact before heading out. Lifiting his head up, eyes twinkling devilishly, he leaned in quickly and kissed Ayaka. Nothing too special, just a quick smooch, before he ran off as fast he could.
'Cause that's just how Shouyin rolled.

*Whether or not Shouyin had actually shown his emotions in expression or not was of little importance, for Ayaka possessed a small but potentially impressive skill in the art of Empathy and Telepathy.
By her request she had the Lady of the Guild, the elf maiden Sierra put a mental shield around her telepathy until she was prepared to face what she found to be a frightening power and an invasion on people's privacy... But she had not asked for her empathetic abilities to be nulled.
So it was that quite often Ayaka noticed the deepest inner emotions of those she interacted with, and only thought she 'saw' them.
But when Shouyin bent down and pressed a quick kiss to her lips she was caught off guard and somewhat startled.
Her lillac eyes widen slightly in surprise and her pale cheeks flush a brilliant rose colour as she stares after the man's retreating figure.
Where had that come from?!!
Puzzled and slightly dazed she watches him dissapear into the distance and then resumes whistling and sweping the garden path.*
