As I watch the anime again and again recently, the more I realise that anime! Ed is such an emo pansy.

Thank God he got better in the movie. He wasn't as much as a pansy, but was a lot more emo. xd

I started watching FMA since the first time it ever aired on Adult Swim. I started watching it because I couldn't sleep and I had seen some commercials for it during InuYasha. Unfortunely, I only saw up to episode 7 "Night of the Chimera's Cry" because we moved shortly afterwards and had no cable for months. One day I went to Target, and saw the first DVD and immediately convinced my Dad to get it for me. xD
And I realized how much I loved it and ended up getting totally obsessed wtih it after I got the second DVD.
And when I finally got cable again, Adult Swim was up to episode 23, I believe. And I remember crying when I saw the episode with Maes Hughes' death. Despite that I didn't know who he was at first, I still cried like a baby.
And when the manga finally came out, I immediately bought volume one of course.
Oh and for Christmas later during the year, my Aunt actually got my sisters and I the entire series boxed set with all 51 episodes. Of course, it was bootleg. I bought a bootleg Conqueror of Shambala a month later, of course. x3
....And that is my touching story of how I got into FMA.

Nice story, Sakura. whee

Mine took place sometime last year. xD
I'd seen FMA commercials while I was watching other anime. When I finally started watching it, it was already at episode 28; All is One, One is All. It drove me crazy when two episodes later all this talk of Lab. 5 came up, and I'm all; "WTF is Labratory 5?!"
So I got a guy friend of mine to lend me the series on DVD, so that I could get caught up. I couldn't find the time to watch it- what with homework and such, until I caught a really awful cold and I had to stay home. Of course, both my parents were at work so the house was empty except for me. I couldn't sleep, either, because I kept coughing.. and I couldn't concentrate on a book. So I decided to finally watch the DVDs. I was sick for three days, and I was able to catch up. When I first starting watching, I thought it was really strange.. but by episode 8 I was hooked.

That took a while to type.

[{And all the wounds that
are ever gonna scar me}]

First episode I saw was the one with Russel and Fletcher. I was confused, I didn't know who was Ed or Al. Yeah, it got to my attention seeing how much they made a big deal of the "Philopher's Stone".

Few months later I found the very first manga in Borders. Since David was going out with one of my friends I got it to take my mind off, of problems. Boy did I get hooked on the manga. eek

I didn't had cable at the time so I thought I had no chance of getting to see the anime. I have no idea what came over me but I begged my mom to get me the first DVD over at Best Buy. She wasn't gonna buy it since it said "As seen in [adult swim]". She thought it was some kind of hentai (since Edward was shirtless in the DVD). xd

Yeah, afterwards I read all the scanlations online, got the second and third DVD. And wasted all my money on anything related to FMA that summer.

Mhmm. I was up-to-date with FMA after the fourth DVD and first manga came out. And we finally got cable by the time the new season came. So I was able to see every single episode in order. biggrin

Except for the movie. I got to see the movie when I was around episode #36 or something. So I pretty much spoiled myself there. xp

Is the manga or the anime better?
MANGA!
What do you like better about the manga?
The characters, the story... (I hope the ending) I think it much better worked out
What do you like least?
The movie, I thought the ending Buuuuu! The ending of the anime was perfectly fine with me, but nobody else likes it... the think it is to open. I like that kind of ending.
What do you like better about the anime?
I like the music and a manga can't have that...
What do you like least?
...
Why are most of the anime characters so emo?
??? don't think it an interesting question

Is the manga or the anime better?
Manga....maybe it was because I started with it instead of the anime. But I liked the anime too.
What do you like better about the manga?
The way that Arakawa sometimes make it funny somehow even in the most.....desperate?? dark???... parts
OH OH OH AND the extras xP
What do you like least?
Hmmm....I'll think about that
What do you like better about the anime?
The bits of originality (apart) from the manga..
EDIT: and the music, except for the third theme song
What do you like least?
The whole "the Gate is the literal gate to another world" thing, and the movie
Why are most of the anime characters so emo? emo
Dunno, that's the way the producers made them. In the manga they all could've been emo too.
