Rp between Katana'k and Chamchela
The sun was setting, seeming to want to retreat, fall back, give way to the night, but not yet, light was still hanging on, refusing to let go just yet. Katana'k was just standing there, wings pulled against his back, white eyes peering out into the distance. Where was he now? Either of them? His father, his brother, he wasn't sure. He wasn't sure who to pursue now, he wanted so much to find his father, but also, so much to kill his own brother.
His armor shimmering in the remaining rays of the sun. His horns stuck out from his blackened mane as he took a moment, sifted his paw against the ground, it was dry and cracking here, probably no water for miles yet to come. "Too far, yet not far enough."
---------------------------------------------------
Through her lessons Elly had grown, not only maturing physically, but in strength. Now that she was older her mother seemed more willing to let her wander away from her side. How long had it been, weeks? A month? Two? Mother hadn't come looking yet... nor did Elly feel the usual pull when being summoned by the elder goddess. Some days she actually worried about Kiva, but most times she figured that her mother was simply finally learning to let her cubs stretch their wings. There wasn't much she had to teach Chamchela anyway, being that their domains were in two different realms completely.
As the young goddess traveled she'd developed an affinity for riding her creations, now that she could make them whenever she so pleased, her powers unbridled. The bracer she wore as a cub was no longer with her, never having been a child who liked restrictions.
And so she came, a riding in on a young tornado in the distance.
Well, running. To anyone around that was watching it simply looked like a storm on a rampage, but with a direct course clearly made. "It" was heading directly for the god of Pride.
---------------------------------------------------
Katana'k stretched his wings out, heard a rumbling like thunder, felt the wind picking up. Turning his head eyes fell on that of a wild storm that seemed fast approaching, too fast in fact. Seeming to carve its own path, straight to him, no faltering, no changing of course. How strange, yet how interesting. He turned his body to face it head it, stood with his head high, mane being pushed by the pick up of the wind.
His longer fangs glistened as he grinned,w hat was coming his way, was someone, something looking for him? Interesting, very interesting. He grinned, his armor shifting as he did, waiting, watching, taking a step closer here and there. Was it a figure within the storm's midst's? Or an illusion.
He pondered, though stood his ground, he was on a mission, he would not step aside, even for such a storm.
---------------------------------------------------
All at once the winds began to die down rapidly, the dust and dirt still swirling in a brown cloud before beginning to dissipate in an impressive, but unintentional display, bits of rock and ruffage falling to the ground as the debris was no longer supported by the gust. There, at the center of the settling dust-cloud, was the young goddess, staring Katana'k down with a glowering expression that seemed more of a testimony to what kind of personality she had than being out of any spite. Being from a strong line of gods, and having one for a personal-instructor, she had taken an intrest in meeting more of her own kind. She wanted to meet the interesting ones, only, though. This one, with his reflective armor that resembled her teacher's, had certainly caught her eye.
The goddess' figure was slowly revealed as enough of the dirt settled that more than just her shillouette could be seen, as she padded with certainty to the black god, only stopping as she reached him.
Chamchela stared up at him with blunt purple eyes.
"So who are you supposed to be...?"
---------------------------------------------------
Katana'k watched, was entirely shocked when he saw a goddess, not the fact that it was a goddess, but of such an age. She was so young, and to have such power at that age, to display such power? Unimaginable, well, now it was it seemed. His white eyes focused on her purple eyes, he said nothing, just watched, just...saw. Where did the power come from? She was so small, not even an adolescent yet, yet so powerful.
Wow, just wow.
"Supposed to be? I am myself, who are you supposed to be?" he asked matter-of-factly, looking down at her. She seemed a bit...hot tempered, least from what he saw.
---------------------------------------------------
"Smart a**." She grinned, amused. Yes, such language on a lady, let alone a child. Her mother would scold her harshly if she was around to hear it, but she wasn't, and it was doubtful if she would be again anytime soon. "I'm no one but me either. So, 'myself', do you have a name? What are you the god of?" She asked almost skeptically, having developed a naturally sarcastic tone of voice over the months since her birth. She circled the older diety as she questioned him, slow, with all the curiosity that one her age would posess, and all the calm of a small child who believed that she had forever to study her subjects. Elly did.
---------------------------------------------------
Katana'k raised a brow at her, had that really come out of her mouth? Did she have a mother around here somewhere? Strange, very strange, though he had to admit, he was shouting off such things at his brother ever since he learned the right word and phrases, ever since he could remember. "Name's Katana'k," he said, watching, waiting. Boy, wasn't she the curious one? "God of Pride, what about you little missy huh?" Curious girl, perhaps she was too curious for her own good.
---------------------------------------------------
"Chamchela." How very plain, having a name that meant exactly what she was, though the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. "I'd figure you can already guess my domain though." It wasn't said to be snarky, she was just stating the obvious, that her domain was clear. From her muddy brown coloring to the dusty swirl of her wings and the wild mane growing like a mohawk from her head. And if those weren't clue enough there was always the tornadow charm on the necklace that she wore.
She circled around fully until she sat before him on her haunches.
"You smell familiar." She blurted calmly, settling down onto her stomach with one paw tucked absently to her chest, the other sprawled over the dry, cracked earth. "Kinda like my teacher."
---------------------------------------------------
Chamchela he mused, playing it off his tongue internally, he figured if he did so outright, she'd get upset, say something else that was 'smart' about her, to himself, or do something with her abilities. Children shouldn't have such power if they didn't know how to control it, however, she seemed to do just find, which worried him. What if other immortals wanted to use and abuse that power? She would have an interesting future no doubt.
Tornadoes, such power it was.
He didn't like fact that she circled around him, sizing him up like a piece of meat. He frowned, watched her, was relieved when she settled down. "I don't believe we've met, so how can I be familiar?" he asked, though his question was answered. Her teacher? He raised a brow, interesting. "What does he look like...his domain, what is it?" he asked, assuming it was a he, he had a hunch it was. This intrigued him now.
---------------------------------------------------
At this, Chamchela smirked a bit, the expression devious as her brows lowered to make it look that much more mischevious. If she were still a cub she would probably have simply puffed up with pride and a dark grin, but she was maturing into a much more cycnical individual as time went on.
"War. He's the god of War." She didn't bother giving a physical description, since all that knew Mrost's domain need only hear it to know of whom she spoke, at least, in the immortal's realm. She could tell clearly that there was relation between the two. First the apperances, and the smell-- it was faint but it smelled similar to Mrost's, yet different. That was how she knew. She was beginning to understand these types of things.
---------------------------------------------------
"What does he look like," Katana'k reiterated, somewhat annoyed how Chamchela seemed so full of herself at that moment, either knowing or unknowing that she might know the location of someone he wished to find. War? That wasn't his brother but...was it his father, could it be, was it possible? He flicked his tail, his expression changed into one of getting annoyed by Chamchela, he wondered how much pride she held in herself.
She was probably dangerously close to the edge of true pride, and that of pride mixed with ego, wants and desires. "Where is he?"
---------------------------------------------------
It was true that Chamchela was a prideful child, but she had her reasons for being so. Reasons that were dangerous buttons to be pushed by anyone, family, friends, or other. It seemed like there were only, perhaps, three lions that she would listen to in this world. Her grandfather, the god of Strength, her grandmother, goddess of sacrifice, and her beloved instructor, Mrost, who was more like the father she always wanted but never had, than that pathetic mortal her mother had taken for a mate. Speaking of whom...
"I don't know where he is. Why do you want to know...?" She asked warily, smirk quickly melting away to one of skeptisism as she got to her paws again gradually. Maybe this relative of his meant to do him harm, and she'd said too much.
---------------------------------------------------
"How can you not know if he is your teacher..." he said, eyes narrowing, he took a step closer to her, he held in a growl, but she was pushing his limits, she was withholding information he wanted, needed, he needed to know. He let his wings unfold, great black wings that were now draped at his sides, he took another step, why wasn't she answering his questions?
"His name Chamchela, and I have a right to know, I need to know his name, what he looks like, if he looks the same Chamchela..." he needed to know if the god he called father was her teacher, if the god he had not seen in who knew how long, was within his reach at last. That the god he wished to see again, and make proud, was near enough that he did not have to worry about searching for him the rest of his eternal life.
---------------------------------------------------
"Well it's not like I live with him!" She spat back, taking quicker steps as she backed away from the older god, bristling defensively on instinct. He made her nervous, and his menacing countenance didn't help matters. "What business do you have with Mrost?? I'm not gonna help you if you're just looking for trouble!"
This time the hiss was much more physical, purposely attempting to appear threatning in hopes of making it clear that despite her size she did, and would pack a punch if he forced her to. No one messed with her family, after all, and she was incredibly loyal to the blue War-bringer.
---------------------------------------------------
Katana'k stopped, closed his eyes, took a deep breath. What was he doing? Threatening a child, even more so, a female? Just to find out a name, a location? He breathed deep, then opened his eyes once again, his shoulders relaxed, and he took a step back, as if to show that he was wrong in approaching her in such a manner. "Mrost...thats his name?" he was curious, wanted to know everything. "I'm not looking for trouble Chamchela, I'm looking for my father..."
There he had said it, perhaps now she would be more cooperative. "I did not mean to approach you in such a manner, I apologize, was not right of me to do, not at all...you just, gave me a bit of hope that I'd be done looking for him is all," he said with a half smile, half frown.
Maybe she couldn't help more then she had already.
---------------------------------------------------
It did help quite a bit now that he wasn't advancing anymore. She began to relax at last, though still a bit wary. Her own wings tucked less tightly to her side, her hackles calming, and her fangs slowly unbared. But now she felt a new twinge.
Jealousy.
"I don't know where he is... Sorry." She admitted grudgingly, lowering her eyes to glare holes in the ground. Everyone else had a father. Everyone else at least KNEW who their father was. Elly didn't have a clue as to where to start looking for the b*****d because her mother refused to say who he was. All she knew was that he had Devunde's coloring, and that wasn't enough to go on. This male, however, at least had that much to go on. He had Mrost, too, actual blood relation. She'd never even so much as had the courage to tell Mrost how highly she thought of him, feeling like he'd not approve. Her anger issues all revolved around that one simple fact.
She was a b*****d child.
"He's been busy with something else..." She thought, his new litter being that "thing".
---------------------------------------------------
"Oh...alright," Katana'k said, turning away, something twisting in a knot inside his stomach, guilt was it, to pressure her into revealing what he wanted to know out of her? Not good, he was pride, to be pride, had to have pride in himself, what was he changing into? Perhaps his father might answer those questions, perhaps.
"I'm sorry, if I was too forward with it just, I haven't seen him since I was a cub, that was the only time I can remember seeing him, though I can't remember what he looks like, sounds like, anything. I don't really know who he is, I don't know my father...I guess I got a bit too forward when I thought I'd finally found him after all this time." Why was he explaining himself again? Oh yea, guilt, he felt guilty for how he had acted towards Chamchela, she hadn't deserved the treatment he had given her. "I do apologize..." he wondered if she would run away now, run away and never return. Then he'd be back to square one with searching. Then again, he couldn't follow her either, just wouldn't be right...would it?
---------------------------------------------------
For a long time she was silent, still brooding over the cracks in the ground underneath her paws. She might be hot tempered, and normally she could be spiteful, but she empathized with Katana'k's search, and she couldn't bring herself to be selfish in witholding information about something so important. How would she feel if she were in his place?
"He's blue... with spikes down his back, and tail. He's got bones for wings instead of feathers, and he wears armor a lot like yours. Maybe if you ask some of the other gods they can tell you more about where he is. And don't worry about it. It's not like you hurt me."
She didn't say more as she turned away, didn't call any extra attention to his guilt or apology, she didn't want his pity. It just made her feel pathetic to think that anyone would take pity on her at all. It never crossed her mind that she might be laying on more guilt with her attitude, it wasn't her intention. She'd never really learned how to talk or act with others, beyond what Mrost taught her, but being young those lessons still slipped now and then. Maybe if she actually had friends or knew how to make them she wouldn't have so many issues, but she didn't, and so she did. No one to confide her feelings in, no one to play with-- her siblings and she weren't very close, she'd come to accept being an outcast of sorts. Life goes on.
"I hope you find him." She muttered, just barely audible, but scincere.
---------------------------------------------------
Blue? Well, he didn't expect to hear that color, he would've figured black or white but, perhaps his father's true color was never meant to be passed onto him, perhaps he was just meant to be black and plain, dark and plain. Spikes, he didn't have those either just...an extra pair of wings on his forelegs, skeleton wings? Wow, so many details about his father, if this god was his father, that he never knew, details he couldn't remember. The armor though, gave him hope, hopefully this Mrost was his father, hopefully his search would come to an end now. He gave her a smile, but she turned away, he tilted his head to the side, watched her, swayed his tail, he would've asked if she was alright, but something was wrong, and he didn't want to bring up anything that might upset her. He knew some things, he wasn't completely unaware of what he was to do around others younger then himself.
"Thank you, Chamchela...I owe you, if there's something I can do for you, just ask, alright?" he said, taking a step closer, but so he was on the right side of her, he just watched his, offered her a smile, tried to make eye contact, "Friends?" maybe not, least he could try. He surprisingly got along much better with Chamchela then anyone else he knew.
---------------------------------------------------
Elly flopped onto her haunches again as he came alongside her, staring at the horizon now instead and wondering what she was supposed to do now. His comments breezed off her shoulders, owed, right, and the chances of them meeting again were slim as it was. But friends?
"... Friends?" She asked skeptically, quirking one brow a she finally looked up at him again, staring, then lowered her eyes again as she thought it over. She didn't have any friends... maybe it was time to change that. He seemed alright... ".... Yeah........... alright. Friends."
---------------------------------------------------
Katana'k gave her a smile, sat back onto the cracked earth beneath him, stared and watched the sun make its final few brilliant colorful moments before them both. He'd always owe her somehting, someday, even if she didn't seem too keen on the idea. He'd be sure to keep his promise.
When he heard her say friends, he smiled, smiled a goofy smile because of his longer fangs, but this was nice, he had a friend, a friend he knew he had. She was smart, strong, curious, she was a tough cookie.
