Her bare feet on two smooth stones within the cold river, Moriko braced herself as the current rushes across her lower legs, trying to knock her down. Each hand stretched out on either side of her, her palms flat, she carefully maintains the balance of the burning candle in her right with the thin dish of water in her left. Closing her eyes, focusing on swaying her body to the waters struggling current, she can hear the struggling breaths of her team mates as they all work hard on their balance training.
"Very good, Moriko. You're getting much better." Smiling slightly at the sound of her Sensi's soft voice, she struggles not to shiver in fear of shaking the water she desperately tries to keep in the dishes. The sound of a large splash comes from behind her, ask she hears the chuckle of not only the Sensi, but her other team mate, Yoshi, as Ume slipped once again into the cold water.
((This is the example that I used to join. If it isn't long enough, I'll add to it ^^' Also, do we need to write in fourth person or can we write in first?...I will see if the Arena works at a different location then on my crappy computer tomorrow -_-' If not, please forgive me now -_-'))

((Here's mine, if something isn't right, don't hesitate to tell me.))
Hazel eyes darted back and forth, senses at their peak. The female figure stood in a clearing, waves crashing by the cliffs nearby. Surrounding her was a group of ninja, headbands crossed out. The leader of the group grinned cockily at the girl, preparing for the final attack. She gripped her intricate twin swords and went into a defensive stance. A powerful chakra surrounded her as they charged. At the moment of impact, she disappeared, sending some of the rouge ninjas crashing into each other. The girl reappeared behind the leader and attacked with inhuman grace and speed. The leader collapsed on the ground, unmoving. Seeing their boss killed, the rest of the rouges fled the scene.
The girl only known as Tsukiko stumbled on her way back to the forest, critically wounded from the battle. Her normally neat light brown braided hair was disarrayed and the seal on her shoulder was throbbing painfully, showing the beast's desperate attempts to escape. She stumbled on down the path until reaching the borders of a village. All of her exhaustion and pain overwhelmed Tsukiko's senses. The last thing she saw before fainting was a person running towards her and her unusual lock of green hair over her left eye...
