Aware of the other's shifting gaze Kakashi took a dainty bite of takoyaki and glanced over to the clock that hung above the chalkboard. Looking back to Iruka he chuckled quietly as the man silently mused over Kakashi. The little blush that held across the scar on the bridge of his nose was too cute for words. Deciding to interupt the teachers brooding he intoned, "the students should be back soon", and waited for the comical reaction that was sure to come.

Kiba woke up with a start. He had slept in much later than he wanted to, and it was clear that the day was well underway. He scrambled out of his bed and threw on his usual clothes. "Akamaru...let's go," he called as he ran out the door. Akamaru followed after him, and together they ran through the streets of the village.

"Oh. Oh yes, they would..." Iruka said, almost sadly. "Well, you eat too slow, Kakashi-sensei! From what I heard, it takes you a split second to finish a bowl Naruto usually has at Ichiraku..." Iruka joked, taking a hearty bite out of an onigiri bunny. The said bit of food lost half its body. Not to say Iruka's eating habits were lacking, but his experience with Naruto engraved an "Every Man for Himself" rule, as their dinners together meants Naruto trying to steal Iruka's ramen...

As Kiba ran through the streets, his stomach began to growl, loudly. He clutched his stomach, "Damn.." he growled. The smell of Ramen was permeating the air and Kiba couldn't resist. He hadn't eaten before leaving. So, he walked to the Ramen shop and took a seat, ordering two bowls, one for himself, and one for Akamaru. It wasn't long before the two were eating happily, from their respective bowls.

He had caught the sad tone through the hasty recovery. Kakashi smiled and said simply, "guess I'm not as hungry as I thought I'd be." Iruka was tense. He sighed and ran a hand through silver stands, he had hoped to make him anything but tense. Maybe it was the atmosphere, yes that's exactly what it was. Elbow once again resting on the desk and chin in hand he asked, "are you free tomarrow night?" He really shouldn't have asked but he was determined, about what exactly? he still didn't know himself, just that he found Iruka-sensei extremely interesting. Why else would he keep coming back to see him under the guise of giving a report on his students progress. Kakashi watched the dark-haired man's face, waiting and thinking.
One of these days I'm going to hide all of his hair ties so that his has no choice but to wear it down. The thought of a dishevaled Iruka had been common place in his head for a while now and it brang with it a tiny glimmer of want which increased bit by bit every time.
