Baron_Ruthven -Quote deleted- "Thou hast conquered, O pale galilean, and the world has grown grey from thy breath..." I agree that you shouldnt have to treat anyone you dont feel is worthy as an equal. Though you seem to lump a lot of people in with the ones that you dont feel are equal. What I want to know is, why do you feel that all these people are not equal? How can you put judgement on so many people without knowing them? I agree that a lot of these people would shun us as soon as they found out what we were, but there are decent few who will continure accepting you. My one friend who is Christian is one of my greatest friends and he knows that I am a satanist. He is just fine with it. Not everyone who is a christian will damn you to hell for it. So, where do you get that you can pass judgement on all these people.

When I told my friends they wern't all that surprised and a few of them even replyied saying they already knew. My parents are christians and thus are not ok with it but it's my choice and they deal with it the best they can. Could be worse.

Only one of my friends is uncomfortable with it, But they haven't disowned me, we just don't talk about it. All my other friends are atheists, so they don't really care as long as it's not force fed to them. My brother is a Satanist as well although the rest of my family don't know, though. They simply wouldn't understand.

Nah, haven't told anyone, but they know it without that. I'm wearing a cap with a picture of "devil" on it. I read the satanic bible, I even lent it to my sisters friend who was interested about it. (Her mother didn't like that though) My parents don't know... Dad, well, I think he wouldn't care about that. I guess he used to be some sort of devil worshiper himself. My mother is a christian, otrodox (or what is it?) she doesn't know, but allow me to wear whatever I want, unless I meet some old, important, familymembers or hard-core-christians.

I've never lost any friends over it, though I did explain my beliefs to a couple of friends. One of them (who is not religious in the least) was overall cool with it but seemed a little bit...uncomfortable, I guess you'd say. The other friend, who happens to be a devout Catholic, was 100% fine with my beliefs. Odd. My parents don't know yet, but my brother and sister seem to suspect I practice witchcraft (and I think my parents might suspect a bit also) but they don't about the Satanism part. One time my family went on vacation to this place that supposedly has a lot of energy vortexes or something like that, pagans flock to it, and we were looking through a shop that carried ritual supplies. I was inspecting some crystals when my little sister came up to me, tugged on my hand, and informed me that there was an adjoining room that held books on witchcraft. She eagerly pulled me over so I could see them. It was pretty damn cute. biggrin

How very interesting... a witchcraft/Satanic (theistic?) hybrid. Care to explain?

Council of Nine How very interesting... a witchcraft/Satanic (theistic?) hybrid. Care to explain? Eh, sorry it took so long to reply, I didn't realize this post was directed at me. If it isn't, well, I'm an idiot and I'm sorry. Anyway, I am indeed a sort of cross between Wicca and various pagan religions and Satanism. Not theistic Satanism, but more along the lines of LaVeyan Satanism. I perform rituals of my own that are inspired by Wiccan rituals, and I follow the Rule of Three belief, and a few other small bits. The thing that makes it most Wicca-like is my belief in a higher power of some sort, though I don't presume to know what it is or even if I am right in believing it exists. I have assigned two goddesses to represent this higher power, simply because they are the two goddesses I am familiar and comfortable with, that I connect with most easily. I don't believe these goddesses are the higher power, only that the use of them gives me an image and an entity to associate with the higher power. The two goddesses are Sekhmet and Bastet. With myself and the two goddesses, there is formed the sacred triangle of Maiden (me), Mother (Bastet), and Crone (Sekhmet). This ties into my belief that I can perform rituals and magick myself, using my own power, much as a Satanist would perform rituals, but that I must also call on outside powers for assistance and patronage as a Wiccan would believe. Now, if I believe in a higher power, how can I be a non-theistic Satanist? Simply because I incorporate the Satanic teachings of love and hate to those who deserve it, revenge, and all that along those lines into my belief system. No Wiccan would perform black magick for revenge, but I say if they deserve it then go ahead. I use certain Wiccan beliefs, but don't adhere really to the Wiccan Rede, and instead go by my own morals which are heavily influenced by Satanism. I hope I didn't make that really confusing, because I sometimes have trouble explaining it...

As fr as things go for me, I don't really make it a huge point that I'm a satanist, so most people don't know. Most f my friends, however, know that I'm an agnostic, and that I follow LaVeyan Satanic ideas. However they chose to accept this.
