With a soft smirk Nayami gradually removed her feet from the desk, her back shifting slightly forward as she scooted herself in her chair closer to the desk. Resting her hands upon the edge of the furniture she seemed to drum the tips of her fingers along the wood.

“Well, you see Temaki…” The Arashikage started off slow as she kept her gaze settled within his blood red orbs. “I met Kira while I was alone after leaving my father’s village, our old village.” Reaching back with one of her hands she gently tucked a strand of her silky black hair behind one of her ears. “I…became lonely…it’s not easy being alone for your entire life and Kira was very nice to me.”

Her eyes gradually strayed away as the thought of Kira ran through her mind, “I just needed someone to talk to, since I didn’t have you anymore…” Nayami’s voice seemed to soften as she spoke about Temaki, her brilliant orbs finally breaking contact as she managed to strike a sensitive matter in her life.

Leina stopped in front of Nayami's home. She knew that Nayami wasn't alone, she felt Temaki's chakra come from the inside. Kyoryoku looked up at her. "Are you going in...?" he asked quietly. "Nope...Im going to send her a message...." she muttered closing her eyes.

She didnt just want to barge into Nayami's conversation with Temaki or whatever important stuff like signing the papers of acceptance into the village. Opening her eyes she sent the message only to Nayami with her telepathy. "Nayami-sama, sorry for interrupting you, especially the privacy of your mind, but I was wondering if I could have your permission to go visit my family and a friend of mine in the Watarimono lands for a couple of days? I didnt want to barge into your conversation with Temaki-kun...." she waited patiently for Nayami's answer, though she hoped she didnt have to explain why she wanted to go away for a while.

He did like to see her smile, but something told him that this wasn't going to be a more pleasant smile for him. She even removed her feet from the desk and leaned back forward, it was as if this were more serious that he had thought. The slight drumming of her fingers sounded like some agonizing drum roll!

Then she spoke...he figured she had met him after she left the village. He tried to ignore the slight and possible sublte jab at his unwillingness to follow her when she left. But there it was, plain and simple... she had gotten lonely; still he wanted to know how 'nice' Kira had been. At the same time, he didn't want to know; the more he knew the worse off he was going to be.

So, he was a replacement... that was a good sign. There was rarely an adequate replacement for the original. He eyes drifted from the contact they ahd been holding. He hadn't noticed the drifting sooner because his own eyes had been clouded with thoughts and memories. He stared at her wondering if he dared to hope that she did indeed feel as he felt for her.

He was stuck at a cross roads now... did he read her as having feelings for him... or Kira? He took a quiet breath and tried his luck, "Well, there's no need to replace me anymore. I'll be here for you from now on." He'd let her take the words and take from them what ever meaning meant the most sense to her.

Nayami’s head fell gently to the side as she heard a familiar voice ring through her thoughts, her lips parted in a small smile as she agreed to Leina’s request with a simple ‘yes’ and ‘don’t worry about it’ in her mind.

It wasn’t till she heard Temaki’s voice that made her snap out of it. “Eh? Well…” The Arashikage’s voice trailed off slightly as a dark blush streaked right across her pale cheeks. She wasn’t really one to blush and when she did it was quite the odd thing to witness. “I…I just…don’t know Temaki.” Nayami once again collapsed down into her chair, her head rolling back against the furniture as she threw her arm across her face. “So much has happened…I haven’t seen you for years…then I met with Kira…then after that Michio joined up with me.”

A heavy sighed passed through her lips as she allowed her eyes to shut close, “I wish it was this easy…”

He felt a bit weird standing the entire time, casually he rested half of his butt upon her desk. It wasn't as comfy as a chair, but it took some weight off his legs. He's only recently realized how long it'd been since he really rested or gave his legs or feet a break. Taking the weight completely off his one foot, he could feel the ache and the throb as his blood pumped through it. Such a horrible feeling... but he kept a smile of sorts on his face.

As uncomfortable as his foot felt, her words seemed to dig a deeper gash. He could feel it, cutting into him with Kira's name first... then Michio, whoever that was. It was as if her words had found a tangible way to restrict his air and at the same time cut into his heart. If she wished it were so easy then what kept it from being so?

Still, he kept his smile.

He fought with the lump that threatened to close off his throat. What was he to do? At least...he was...in the running? He felt such a fool and quite the idiot. To expect such a magnificent woman to have resisted another man's wiles and charms...FOOL! he yelled inside his cranium. He wasn't really paying attention as the first gasp of air that truly found victory and passed the lump in his throat came out slightly like a chuckle.

I am Temaki Somatsu. he told himself as he looked at Nayami. Not at her stunning beauty, but the girl he knew and had fallen for and been unable to find his feet again. Nayami is my love. Nobody will stand between us. He put aside the knowledge of how his other foot would throb and swung his legs over the desk. He was facing her, on her side of the desk, practically straddling her lap. He refrained from finding a seat on her lap and settled for the desk.

"Nayami...come on." he said as a bit of his cockiness ebbed back in. "This is Temaki..." his smile was as pure as he could make it without acting. He softly took her hand in his own. "We've never known an easy life... but this will be an easy decision before long." he assured her as he brought her hand to his lips softly and kissed her soft skin. Allowing himself the one pleasure, he marveled ar how she did it...strong and powerful, and skin so soft...there were just secrets to being a female ninja that he feared he'd never understand.

As she felt the softness of his lips brush up against the top of her hand she couldn’t help it as her eyes peeked upon in curiosity, her other arm slowly falling free from her face so she could take in a look of what was happening. “I know…” Nayami spoke softly as she gradually rose up from her chair, as his legs brushed against hers it sent a cool shiver trailing down her spine. As she stood up she gently rested her palms on top of his thighs, her body slightly itching forward as she brought her face close to his.

“It has…been awhile since…” The Arashikage’s voice trailed off as she felt her mouth fall upon his, her eyes soon slipping close as she felt the warmth of his lips.

He let his lips softly rest against the skin on her hand, looking at her for her reaction. In all honesty, he wasn't disappointed in the least. There was something in her eyes... familiar and yet different. There was the way she spoke and then her action. It was all familiar but again... different; it wasn't to say it didn't lead to promising and productively pleasant results.

Her touch was so scarce and yet he could feel it so keenly. It was almost as if her touch were pure pleasure and ecstasy as she brushed against him. It was a type of sensual touch that he'd never known she possessed, and yet again, he was pleasantly pleased. It wouldn't end there... it couldn't. She was so close... so warm... he knew that there had to be more. Curse her blood for all eternity if she stopped now.

With his curse unspoken and almost completely forgotten, her words were but a whisper as she pressed her soft and amazing lips against his own. He closed his eyes as he let himself drown in the reality that had haunted him as a dream for far too long. Subconsciously... he feared she'd be blown apart then and there as her father stepped from her body. Or as he'd seen in his dreams before... maybe she'd simply be dissatisfied.

At the moment, none of it mattered; he'd learned to live for the moment. To live for the pleasure that was at his lips as he kissed her lips back. All the weariness in his body was drowned out by the endorphins that were pumping in his body as he wrapped his arms around her. Pulling her into the kiss slowly, but surely he never wanted to breath again if he could feel such pleasure and happiness. She was his world and he was hers to do with as she wanted.

He knew this now...

He couldn't have cared less; he'd been re-united with his heart. The kiss was longer than he'd realized as he suddenly broke the kiss for the sake of air...and living. He opened his eyes; half fearing he'd be staring at the ceiling of his old room hugging his pillow...again. Instead, he saw the beauty that he'd watched grow and become so incredible. Without a second thought or hesitation, he heart spoke through his lips for once.

"I love you Nayami. Please, let me make you happy." he said quietly and seriously.

Nayami could feel her lips tingle slightly from their kiss, her hand gradually rising as she pressed her index finger to her mouth, feeling the softness that had just recently been there. It wasn’t till she heard that one sentence leave Temaki’s lips that she felt her heart jump up into her throat, a gasp slipping free from her mouth as her eyes seemed to widen.

“Love…?” She choked out as she took a few steps back, her heels soon hitting the back of the chair. The Arashikage looked like a caged animal as she accidentally fell back into the chair, her body scrambling as she tried to once again tried to stand on her own two feet. “You…can’t…possibly mean that…”

Her voice carried within it a great deal of shock, and even to much surprise she looked scared, her color draining from her face as she backed away even further from Temaki.

“I…no…everyone who says that…I never see them again…” As she felt the hardness of the wall hit her back another gasp issued out from her lips.

“Something bad happens…I’m not supposed to love, I broke away so I could be alone, I killed them all so I wouldn’t have to be held down anymore..” Her chest seemed to rise and fall with each heavy breath. “Don’t…say that to me.”

A soft knock sounded at her door before the handle was twisted and the door opened. Kira silently walked into the room, a smile on his lips that hid any other emotion he was feeling at the moment. "Hey Nayami-chan I was wondering if..." His voice trailed off as he watched her scramble back against the wall, his eyes tracing over the look of fear on her face. At once his face hardened, a malicious killing intent floated from his body that was both his and Hachibi's which would have a startling affect on the two of them.

In a flash he was standing in front of Temaki, his fist gripping his shirt while he lifted him into the air. Grey eyes were slowly turning black while a dark chakra flowed from his body. "What did you do to her?" He growled out in a very dark, angry tone. After a moment Kira tossed the man aside, suppressing the rage and evil for a moment to turn to Nayami and run a hand down the side of her face.

"Nayami...what's wrong?" The change was startling. One moment he was a beast ready to rip apart anyone in his way and next he was a soft spoken, gentle, caring man. A look of concern filled his gaze while his thumb gently rubbed her cheek. "Are you ok?"

Nayami flinched as she felt his skin brush against hers, her hand soon rising as she reached up and smacked his hand away. “D-don’t touch me.” Her breathing was ragged as her frightened blue orbs darted from Temaki and then back to Kira.

The Arashikage could soon feel a cold sweat begin to break out upon her body, the small droplets dripping down the length of her spine. She shook lightly for a moment before she finally broke out into a run, pushing past both Kira and Temaki as she jumped right clean out the window.

The glass shattered around her as bits and pieces wedged themselves into her skin as well as covered the entire floor. Splashes of her blood settled along the window seal being the only remaining part of her as she fully vanished from out of sight into the forest.

Kira flinched back at her words. He had never seen her like this and it pained him to see her in such a fearful state. Kira's body wasnted to move forward, to jump out of the window and follow her, to hold her and love her until she calmed down. His mind was saying the opposite. If you won't go after her, I will. An angry voice sounded in his head. Kira's hands shot up to his head, clutching it in pain. It had been a long time since Kira and Hachibi had spoken and now, whenever they did, excruating pain ran through his head.

After a brief blast of evil chakra, yellow eyes peered out the window. A forked tounge slipped from his mouth, tasting the air around them before he suddenly leapt out of the window and began chasing her with mind numbing speed. His body slipped through the trees like they weren't even there, everything was morphing into one big blob of colour.

See, that question... 'Love?' it was never a good sign. Perhaps he had leaped across that line he wasn't supposed to step over. He clenched his jaw as he tried to think of something to say... something to do. Why couldn't he mean that? He knew it was all his heart and mind could possible feel for her. His lips knew no other words that might encompass what he felt.

As the seconds stumbled on, she got farther away from him. For some reason, it felt more than just merely physical. He could feel her slipping from him. He wanted to wrap her in his arm and tell her she'd be ok. Tell her that he was strong enough to stop what ever caused her so much fear...even if he wasn't.

He wasn't exactly sure what she was talking about. Everybody who said they'd loved her... she never saw them again? That had to just be horriblel luck, besides, there was nothing short of ... well there was nothing that could keep him from seeing her. Regardless, she was terrified it seemed. Yet, it was quite confusing to him... who had she killed? He kicked himself again for not staying with her when she left her father's clan.

A knock hadn't been enough to draw a fraction of his attention. A voice... familiar... recently familiar slightly rang in his ears, yet he was far too preoccupied to even think to take his eyes off of Nayami. He was set on guard almost immediately as he felt the sudden shift in attitude of the new comer. Ah, but here he was... now standing before him.

He grabbed at him and despite the clearly threatening nature, he didn't respond. Even if he was in his right state of mind and not utterly consumed with worry for Nayami he couldn't have answered his question. After all, he had no clue why his confession had set her off so...

Obviously his null answer was dissatisfactory, and with a growl, he gave him a rough push. Had he not already been leaning against her desk he might have stumbled a bit before being able to catch himself. Yet, he was snapped mostly from his daze as the murderous man gently stroked Nayami's cheek with his thumb. Part of him wanted to explode right then and there.

Her reactionw as slightly reassuring, but the terrified look in her eyes weren't. It didn't take her long to flee the room...well for that matter the building through one of her windows. The remaining shards gleamed with a slight bit of crimson, showing off their prize for her desperation. It seemed that he wasn't the only one taken back by this all though.

As he thought quickly, he noticed the other man leave...and fast. He checked himself for his equipment and carefully lept from the same newly crafted exit from the Arashikage's room. His body wasn't even remotely at peak condition, but that wasn't even an excuse to rest up a bit before giving chase to Nayami, and the other guy.

Still, his legs ached and he growled as he tried to force them to push him farther...and faster.

If nothing else, he had to make sure she was alright.

Kai stepped into the office, he had heard no sounds, detected no presence. If anywhere, the Kage should be in this office, yet he had to force the rusted handle in order to open the door. He left it open for a moment taking two steps in, half a step clear of the door as it fell down between him and the door, the hinges had been eaten away by corrosion.

Cobwebs were everywhere, dust thick on the ground. The windows were dirty, this place, it was like an un-kept cemetery just without the grave stones, there was even a book open that the Kage would have probably read although the pages were now very frail and would probably turn to dust if moved without the proper equipment.

He didn't have to call out to receive no reply in order to figure out the Kage wasn't here. Where then, was everyone. He looked to the side, no one was here at all. This village was going to get awfully lonely without people, he had trekked miles upon miles in order to get here, and now...nothing. He stepped forwards and looked at the desk, everything was as it had been left, god knows how long ago.

With that he opened the windows, slamming his palm against the hinge that had rusted together, preventing it from moving, in order to turn it to dust. They flew open and he called out loudly.

"HELLO!" He shouted, "Does anyone hear me!" He called out, there was no reply, he kept his ears open at least expecting to have disturbed a stray cat or something, but there was nothing. Nothing at all, just nothing.
