i have to agree with what someone else said because james might've liked lily too and didn't want snape to have her so he picked on him.

im2cool4skool i never noticed any softness in his voice when he talked to anybody. maybe bellatrix or someone, though... he obviously has felt love before, though. he cant be allergic to it like voldemort. Thats just the movies, though, right? We dont know how he talked in the books. Plus, what if he hates the world because of something that happened with his "one true love"?

t-o-o-t-s-i-e Kingdom_Hearts_II eh i vaguely remember something... idk i think he was in love with Lily... he wasnt in love with her, remember, he called her a filthy mudblood. We can all do things to the ones we love that we later regret. That could, as someone said before, be the reason why it was his worst memory. I dont think he was in love with Lily, but who knows?

i dont think snape could be in love because he is like Voldemort no love and he proves it in HBP i mean no one would ever do that especialy when Dumbledore is at his weakest.

OK, if you read the 7th book, it clearly explains that Snape and Lily were childhood "friends" and that he fell in love with her...but, we all know she fell for James, which didn't go to well with Snape...after he called her a filthy mudblood, she refused to ever be his friend again, even though he begged her. It's kid of sad, really... sad
