Vincent + Chaos + Ribbon + tons of hp boost materia + elemental protection through armor and materia + full limit meter = Quick wins at the battle square

All you got to do is make sure the slots between matches don't screw it up too bad.

but the worse you screw up at sots, the more points you get at the end (my friend would get about 30k for every time he loses all materia and wins)
speaking of which, we live together right now, and he has the PC FFVII and I had PS1 version
We had a race to get out of Midgard
He won simply because the motorcycle minigame on PC goes SUPERFAST, he went through it in like 15 seconds

I stopped there, he finished that save... he likes to use Vinny and that save he used Cid (and kept him equipped with the mop for the massive damage at that point of the game)

also, we both tried to name Red Nanaki, but he was in such a rush he accidentally put in Nana xd

Didn't know that, well still with that combo it isn't too hard to win as long as your ribbon doesn't break.

I won the battle square once with Yuffie as a poisoned, beserked frog. She was wearing that water absorbing armor and came up against the final battle that does nothing but Aqua Lung.... blaugh

my friend ended up fighting the big sea serpent thing while frogged, mini'd and some other ailments with broken armor (which apparently doesn't affect the absorption effect)
and that guy only attacked with the element that he absorbed
