I think that trying to advertise the guild through a thread sounds like a good idea, I really do prefer having a guild, i think if it were just a thread, wouldn't it be easy to forget about? Or maybe that's just me? I dont know... However I do know that I really don't want to lose the guild, i really like it and I like how we're an actual group and have our own little place.

I agree for the thread advertisement, and I think the guild shouldn't be deleted too fast, anyway you're not losing anything if you let it opened for now. I preferred the thread back then, but I must say I wasn't there the first year or two the CAH guild was opened, so I don't know if it was working back then. All I can say is the CAH was the only thread I spent so much time in and I've never found any other thread where I could hang and chat like this. I have a dear memory of the CAH and I'd visit the CAH thread for sure if there would be one also. However, I think there are old members which I liked roleplaying with and aren't coming anymore, so I don't know if I'd be happy with the place, but I'd try.

I think the question has been there for a while now.
Why don't we try a thread without risking anything and don't close the guild for now ?
I'd gladly start the thread since you guys didn't make a decision yet, it seems.
I just don't want anyone to hate me for that ._.
I'll come back and see if anyone replied.

Sunny will make the thread, seeing as she's the owner of the guild. Thank you for volunteering, though.

I spoke with Sunray the idea for the thread is still going, but if one of us comes up with a layout before she makes the thread we can PM it to her and she'll look over it and maybe set it up with a mule.

...well setting up a thread sure takes too much time (more than already a few months now?)
Why don't we make it simple and nice, and then we'd just add the details to the first page when miss sunray and all have enough time for this?
cause meanwhile, people are just gonna stop getting interested gradually. Already a good bunch of people have left. Why is this taking so long? If a leader's not ready to do her job, maybe someone else should take her place. At least for now.

H|A|R|R|Y| P|O|T|T|E|RI'm sorry, Almalexia, but I'm really not liking this attitude of yours.
Excuse us for having lives. Personally, my Education is a bigger priority than making a thread for this guild. Sunny deserves a break. She's worked her butt off the past couple years for school, so now she's taken some time off. Maybe it's just me, but my life does not revolve around Gaia. my anti-drug.

Ok, so I'll just state simple facts :
- Sun Jun 25, 2006 - Sunray just proposed the idea of going back to a thread, since it began to slow down. Back then, people thought the guild would be much better and that they'd try to keep it alive.
- Thu Mar 29, 2007 - Sunray expressed how she considered the guild dead since there was little activity. People were agreeing to the fact that it was rather dead, and that a thread would most likely bring new people in.
* Here, my opinion is that even if we didn't know what to do with the guild back then, we could've still made the thread and kept the guild, so that later we'd realize if we need it or not.
I don't know about your and Sunray's life. But on Tue May 22, 2007, Sunny said she'd make the thread soon. I understand about moving out, about vacations and school, and having a life. But if Sunray wants to be the leader and make things work, I just think that she'd better have people that can help her to make the thread for her.
It's okay if she's busy, but why do we have to wait for her to be done with her life so we can enjoy the good old CAH?
What I mean is... if you want a community to work, you'd better try to keep it alive. If you want people to post every week or even everyday like it used to be (well maybe not the same people everyday), you can't expect your members to forget about the CAH for months and then come back when it's done, chat on a weekly basis and such.
If your life doesn't concern the CAH or Gaia, I understand. But I also see people that used to hang on Gaia every evening, after school and homework, and enjoyed it. I can't see much friends during the week, and I enjoyed chatting and rping on the CAH. I doesn't make me a lifeless person, just someone that might want to keep this alive before everyone starts losing interest.
I think my suggestion of a temporary thread could've been nice. I mean... what's wrong with it? We'd have more people interested, we'd have people from the CAH that would come back to Gaia, and when you guys would have some time in your life, you'd have the chance to migrate all these persons to the new official thread.
And if it's my comment about taking Sunray's place while she off that you dislike, well I didn't mean that we needed a new leader. Just someone that would have the work done for her. Someone that has more time and that she would approve of.
And I thought a community was all about SHARING something, working together for the same goal and maybe even work on common projects. I see the thread as a project, and I thought the members (well what's left of it) could've helped in this, with new ideas and suggestions.
While all you said was "Sunny will make the thread, seeing as she's the owner of the guild."
She's the owner of the guild, cause she somehow had gold on Gaia. I thought this was all about the idea of the old thread, which belonged to... someone that's not Sunray, nonetheless. And she honored that idea because she cared about the members' opinion about the guild and thread and asked us about it. But I really don't think we have to put more burden on her shoulders and ask her to do everything concerning the CAH, especially if she needs a break.
That's all I meant.

H|A|R|R|Y| P|O|T|T|E|RThe original owner gave the responsibilities to Sunny. She is in charge of this guild and will ultimately make the decision about what to do. But you were acting as if we should take her out of the whole situation and put someone new in. That, to me, is being a complete backstabber. I am more than happy to have someone else set up the thread besides her, but I want Sunny to make that decision. Like I said, she is the one in charge, and I know she wants whats best for this guild and it's members. If she appoints someone to do it for her, by all means, I don't care. I trust that Sunny would have chosen someone who cares about this guild and will do what's best for it. But I will not stand for having anyone else make that decision for her. my anti-drug.

I remember saying that people could help make the thread if they liked. I know Rue expressed an interest. Please feel free to come up with ideas. If I didn't want to involve anyone, I wouldn't have bothered asking for the opinions of others. It means a lot to me to hear what everyone's got to say.
As for me being busy all the time, well, I'm sorry I have to be an adult now and put my life in order. Work takes up a lot of my time while the rest of it is just de-fogging and getting my brain back into a refreshed state. Everyone's got to go through this sooner or later. It's not my fault for being a bit older than a lot of the other guild members. And apart from work, I've had to get my relationship back on track and I'm sorry that my love life is much more important than the guild.
And Angel's right, for the most part. I didn't become "leader" because I have gold. The torch was passed on to me, so to speak. Everyone sorta elected me owner after the other never came back. Even when he did, he was just fine with me taking over and wished me luck. Plus, when the guild was made, it was made on donations, not just me.
I think I've put a lot of time and effort into this place, both as a thread and a guild. Yes, it's slipped since being a guild but the blame isn't all my fault. People get lives, things happen. I don't want to give up the CAH any more than anyone else but I just can't put it before my responsibilities in life.
I've never said that people couldn't help make the guild into a great place. I've always encouraged people to make threads and spread the word. What you're saying makes it seem like I've only ever wanted to do everything myself. Not true, ever. I'd like to put together the thread layout, true, but that's only because I like making them look good and have things easy to find for people. I guess you could say I'm a**l about that sort of thing.
Instead of sitting back and waiting, give me ideas to work off of. Hell, give me your own thread layout and let me tweak it. Anyone's welcome to do that.

Sunray Tristram I remember saying that people could help make the thread if they liked. Well, good, that's just not what I was told considering my offer for help, and later my offer to create the thread so people could start enjoying it, to which I was told : "Sunny will make the thread, seeing as she's the owner of the guild." Sunray Tristram It means a lot to me to hear what everyone's got to say. You might wanna try next time to put yourself in the place of the people that writes, instead of being victimized by my words. Cause I never blamed your lack of time, I blamed the lack of other people to work on it because you are busy. I am being all considerate about your busy life. Sunray Tristram As for me being busy all the time, well, I'm sorry I have to be an adult now and put my life in order. etc etc Dakara.... I didn't want either of you two to take the "I'm too busy" that bad. I mean, Ok, you guys have life, but do I have to re-explain again why it's not a good idea IMHO to let it wait too long? I don't think we're getting into the right subject anyway... I'm old too, and I've got things to do, I've got a job, studies, a love-life, a place where I live and yeah.. I got attached to this little place that I wish to be alive again, more than almost anything on internet. Sunray Tristram The torch was passed on to me, so to speak. Everyone sorta elected me owner after the other never came back. Ok, so I wasn't aware about the "electing" thing. All I noticed was your incredible amount of items and gold, and I thought you took charge of the CAH naturally, and either way it didn't really mattered to me. You seem like a good leader anyway, it's just the "getting into action" matter that bothers me a little. And what I meant back then, was mostly that it didn't mean that you had to do everything because you're the leader. Sunray Tristram I think I've put a lot of time and effort into this place, both as a thread and a guild. ...yes. And that's not the point. I think you did a really good job for the guild and I don't think it's your fault ok? I'm talking about now, these past months, this "thread",... This subject is really precise and you don't have to take it personally in general... I'm stating my opinion and giving suggestions from what I know cause you said it was important for you. Sunray Tristram Yes, it's slipped since being a guild but the blame isn't all my fault. And I didn't blame anyone for the guild and all. I think the guild was a good idea, I just meant that you could've had a thought about Gaia once in a while, and could've thought about making that decision or chosing people to work on the thread. Sunray Tristram People get lives, things happen. I don't want to give up the CAH any more than anyone else but I just can't put it before my responsibilities in life. wow this subject really is dramatic... *sigh* Like I said, I was suggesting for you to chose people you trust to help get the thread ready faster cause you can and do have a life and it's absolutely okay. I just wished this thread could've been the product of a bunch of people instead of one, and that it could be done faster so everyone could enjoy it sooner. Sunray Tristram I've never said that people couldn't help make the guild into a great place. yay~~~ well that's what I thought. But I suggested to help and was called a mere member and was asked to wait patiently for the leader to do the thread because she's the leader... I actually found this pretty sad for you too at that time. Sunray Tristram I've always encouraged people to make threads and spread the word. Well, here I am, explaining what I've seen, what I know, what I don't understand, what I suggest, what I think and what I criticize. And it's not personal, I'm doing this so we can improve and see the points that need to be worked on. I never thought I'd be the bad gal because of this. I would'nt have spent my evening trying to explain my point otherwise. Sunray Tristram What you're saying makes it seem like I've only ever wanted to do everything myself. Not true, ever. I didn't say you wanted to do everything yourself, or that people couldn't help. In fact, I suggested to make a plan for the thread or create it a few posts before. But I was answered that "Sunny will make the thread, seeing as she's the owner of the guild." Those weren't your words, so it's not what it seems like it's what I was told and quote clearly in my past post. So I never accused you of anything. I simply stated facts, and explained my point of view and opinion on this. You can blame me for saying my opinion, for criticizing, for suggesting things and analyzing the situation. But don't blame me for seemingly meaning that it looks like I might have wanted to mean that you probably maybe were/did/wanted/whatever something that I didn't really clearly wrote or think. I'm sorry if that's how it seemed. At first, you have to understand that I was talking with Angels that said we had to wait for you to do the thread. I'll put quotes from my last post that you have to consider : "But if Sunray wants to be the leader and make things work, I just think that she'd better have people that can help her to make the thread for her." -> Which was supposed to mean : being the leader doesn't mean that you have to do everything, and maybe you should have people working with you... especially if you're busy. "But I really don't think we have to put more burden on her shoulders and ask her to do everything concerning the CAH, especially if she needs a break." -> Which had about the same meaning. Being a leader and doing everything CAN be okay. But if you're busy, if you've put already a lot of work into this guild/community, why don't we work on it instead at some point? At first I suggested to help, to give some ideas, and I was told that you'd be okay to work on it. That's what happened from my point of view. When I saw that things weren't getting done, I suggested to help again and tried knowing what was going on. Then I was told that "people's got life blahblahblah" however I couldn't see how someone could say that Sunray's okay with working on something if she's completely busy. So I proposed to create the thread, since nothing was going on. And this discussion didn't include you up to now, so I can't blame you; I can only blame the incomprehension I had and maybe the things I wasn't told or couldn't guess. So please don't take anything personally, I wasn't given a clear message from the others so I was mostly trying to know/understand, and to find a solution to get it done. I wanted to know why I couldn't help and what was going on, and I asked questions. So this is not about blaming anyone. Sunray Tristram Instead of sitting back and waiting, give me ideas to work off of. Hell, give me your own thread layout and let me tweak it. Anyone's welcome to do that I'll start working on it when I have some time 3nodding

Angels_can_fly2 But you were acting as if we should take her out of the whole situation and put someone new in. That, to me, is being a complete backstabber. I wasn't at all acting as if I wanted to put someone new in place of Sunray. I was talking about putting someone who would do the job in. And that, to me, is being someone who likes to achieve something and get the work done for those who are too busy. I don't see any backstab into this. Sunray's the leader, she chooses, and if she gets too busy to make the job, I think she could ask someone she trusts for it to be done. That was my first suggestion. I think it's pretty logical, honestly. Angels_can_fly2 I am more than happy to have someone else set up the thread besides her, but I want Sunny to make that decision. OK about taking decisions, well why would we have to create 3 threads on this? I think you guys and Sunray could've taken the choice everybody preferred, Sunray included, a little while ago. A decision doesn't have to take several months IMO... once about everybody answered, Sunray could've taken a decision. And here, I'm taking the time to explain what I have seen, so you can point exactly where I missed something, or explain to me. I'm suggesting and criticizing from my point of view, but it doesn't mean I know everything about it. Am I that much of a bad person because I'm asking for some answers? I wanted to know what was keeping the thread from being created, and me from helping. Seeing how people didn't bother to reply to me earlier, I *might* have been a little bit aggressive on my post which you didn't appreciate my attitude, but I guess that's what was needed to be answered. I either expressed myself not *exactly* perfectly, or you didn't interpret well my words. So please, you don't have to call me a backstabber because I'm stlightly criticizing the time that it takes to make a choice.
