Zahia meets Shadowfax

Zahia: *Stretchs after sleeping for who knows how long. Waking to find herself nestled in a long mane of hair as well as a feathery blanket of wings ypon her indigo back. Her head weighted down by a larger horn upon her forhead, blue eyes taking in everything in a new light, but her tentitive side still very paarent about her person.*

Shadowfax had been MIA for years. Keeping to himself and hiding from the very beings he was 'Prince' of. His title of Prince of the Horses, had caused him to go away. He was tired of all the eyes on him.. Tired of everyone fearing him.
True, he loved being 'prince.' But it wasnt an official title.

Gazing up, he finally appeared in his once roamed land.

*Dark blue eyes gazed about as a young teen stepped out from behind her hidding place that hidden her well when she was younger, but now it seemed to tangle her long tail and mane. Hsking the leaves the best she could from her mane she stepped further out into the light. Her large indigo wings stertching at her sides, flapping a couple times she dared not leave the ground... Just yet anyways. Standing still, her wings once more folded to her sides she gazed about. Everything was stranger now.... Now that she was taller and older for that matter.

She just stared at the surroundings for a long while before something caught her eye. Something white that was a mere dot on the horizon to her. Arching her neck a little her curiousity got the better of her tentitiveness. Stepping forward she headed toward whatever it was, but was still wary with her steps and was ready to flee if whatever it was, was dangerous.*

He hsook his head, and lowered it to the luxury of the grass below his feet. The area was empty of anything.. No living thing existed here, and he had known it would be so.. When the Prince leaves, its seen as an Omen.. It had happened this way with his father, and his grandfather.. He hadnt cared.
He had been sick of the horses around here.

*One dark green hoof before the other, Zahia drew closer toward the wite block that she had seen back from her hidding place. Canting her head to the side she watched the block grew and take the form of another Equus. A white stallion at that... Stoppping she watched him for a moment from a distance. Cutting to ont side as to not draw too much attention because of her wings and large indigo horn on her head. There wasn't much shelter where she had come and stood there in the open watching this strange white male. Dipping her head down, long dark blue locks slipped over her equally blue eyes, hidding them perfectly, the rest of her mane cascaded down her neck like a waterfall, her tail twitching gently behind her.

"He... Hello..." She said softly as she was thankful that her dark coloring covered the light flush that had washed over her.

What lovely Butterfly wings
Zahia and Iris

Iris flutted about in the air, giving her wings the stretch they so needed. She'd decided to have a 'lazy-morning' that day and had slept until noon, which, although refreshing, had left her wings cramped from lack of movement space in her cozy little 'home' she shared with her friend Queenie. She fluttered to and fro, gliding gracefully on the pockets of air she came across, pink and purple sparkles blowing out behind her.

A dark indigo teen had emerged from her small shelter where she had been trying to avoid others. Her large equally indigo wings stretching a little over her back as she poked her head out from the clump of trees. The sun's light reflected off her dark green blaze that streaked her nose. Squinting against the light she looked around before tentitvly stepping out into the clear. Her head turning to make her cascading blue mane shimmer a little, she was still young, but it seemed that there was no one else to talk to... Not even fellow unico...*

Iris giggled as she flew about, chasing after a small blue butterfly that kept evading her, when suddenly something even prettier caught her eye, gorgeous shiny blue hair! She just had to get a closer look at such a long, luxurious mane, she had never seen one such as that before, and was almost jealous! Spreading her wings out flat, she glided down towards the tricoloured Equu, landing lightly on all four hooves, tossing her glossy mane to get the stray strands from her eyes, she introduced herself to the stranger,
"Hello there, my name's Iris, it's nice to meet you!" she chirped cheerily, her voice bubbly. "You have the most gorgeous mane and tail i've ever seen! You have to tell me your secret! It's so long and in such fabulous condition!" she continued, without stopping.

*The flutter of wings caught her ears as she turned her horned head toward the skies, her dark blue eyes caught the motion of another that was landing not too far from her. Rearing a little she steppd back a pace or two away from the stranger, her head dipping a little letting her mane cascade over her dark colored face, watching this stranger. When they spoke, she lifted her head back up and canted it to one side. Her mane and tail? This equus liked her mane and tail? That was strange, to her it was a brden when traveling by ground...* "Ah... Hi... My name's Zahia. And you like my mane and tail?" She asked looking back over her shoulder toward her long ground dragging tail. "My secret? I don't have a secret. Besides bathing in strange tasing water that keeps it shiny..." She said puzzled as she had regulary visited the seas to swim around a little, before returning home.* "But you have a pretty mane and tail as well. So many colors."

Iris giggled and tossed her head at the other Equus' complment, "Why thankyou!" she grinned, being a total sucker for compliments. "And you must show me this water, it sounds wonderful!" she squeaked, trotting around Zahia, peering at her mane and tail. "Your hair is just so lovely and shiny! I am totally envious!" she said, "And you horn is so fine and long, almost makes me wish I had one!" she chirped, straightening out her antennae to resemble two long horns. "You are just so pretty!" she exclaimed with a flutter of her wings that sent sparkles everywhere.

*Zahia watched the mare circle around her, watching her the best she could. Not knowing what to say or do, but remain still as she circled. At times Zahia thought of the mare as a predator circling its prew, but shook her head waving her ling indigo horn through the air a little. A small giggle came from her shaky at first of course, because it was strange for her to do, her large feathered wings opening a little.* "I can show you, but wouldn't your wings become.... Soggy?" she asked looking at Iris's wings, noticing that they looked like butterfly wings. "I wouldn't wan anything to happen to them..." *She was caring for another that she had just met? Strange indeed, but she figured that was how friendships started out...* "I am glad that you like my horn, I happen to be a Unico... I don't know where the others of my kind are, I seem to have wandered away from them completely." She snickered shaking her head again, turning toward the direction she would go to head for the seas.

"Oh, i'm always very careful not to get them wet, though it doesn't do them much real damage, but it makes them look a bit ickky for a while, which is totally horrible!" she fluttered her wings again, to emphasise the good condition she kept them in, "I've never heard of Unicos before, are your kind new to Eden?" She asked, tilting her head slightly, "Though I suppose it is a big place and it's possible there are all kinda of different races of Equu around that I know nothing about!" she said, trying to answer her own question as she followed behind the Unico.

*Zahia looked back toward Iris as she fluttered her wings. Zahia had folded her feathered wings back to her sides making it look like she were wearing a cloak of some sort. Her long tail trailing bahind her, dragging along the ground... Strangly not getting dirty...* "I suppose you could say I was new to Eden. I've never seen anything line it. Back where I was before coming here...." *She shook her head* "Lets just say it wasn't a pretty place." *She shuddered shaking her head, not wanting to speak about it. It was the main reason she was so shy and tentitive all teh time and didn't seem to want to be around many others besides her adoptive family.*

"Well it's a very nice place here, I've lived here for as long as I can remember, probably from the day I was born. Everyone's kind here, even when they don't seem it, and dangers are very few and far between. I should introduce you to my friend Queenie sometime, she's love to meet a Unico as pretty as yourself, and Shiva, though she'd give you a pretty frosty reception." she giggled at her own joke, the only real break in her wall of talk. She realized that Zahia probably wouldn't get the joke, as she'd likely never met Shiva before, and explained "She's a Guardian of Ice, half her face is encased in ice, and she tends to give me the chills when she's around, but not in the creepy way." she smiled, "and she has the loveliest hair, it's blue, like yours, but she has it braided with gold ribbon and has these lovely little silver hoops tied into it." she stopped talking for a moment when she realized how long she'd been chatting away, to see if her new companion had anything to say.

*Zahia had been quietly listening to Iris, letting most of it slip past her without really catching any of it at all. She only snapped out of her silence when nothing more was said from behind her. Turning her head a little she looked back a little dumbstruck. Her mind blank of what had been said. She figured she would have to come up wth something to sound like she hadn't heard a thing.* "Yes, this place is nice and... I guess I could meet your friends if they would want to meet me. I'm.... Not exactly the equu to merely walk up to someone and introduce myself." She said lowering her head a little, her face hot with blush that was hidden beneath her dark velvety coat.

"Oh they'd love you to bits!" she insisted, "You couldn't meet nicer people." she was walking quite close to Zahia, and her antlers sneaked over to her face and parted her mane. "No need to hide, you know! Everybody gets shy sometimes!" she smiled warmly, giving the Unico a gentle 'bump' with her hip. "Can't have you hiding that pretty face of yours, now can we?" she winked and pulled her antennae back, letting the unico's mane fall back.

*zahia looked over toward Iris as her antennae had parted her mane that was shadowing her face from sight. She was still young after all, but she giggled as Iris had 'bumped' her. Side stepping a little acting as if she were going off balance, to com back and bump Iris back as she lifted her head up again, her mane shifting back away from her face. Her dark gaze looking up a little, she was still shorter the Iris after all.* "I know, but I can't help, but hide sometimes. It's how I grew up, being small wasn't exactly easy when you don't really have anyone to look after you." She sighed a little soon looking back at Iris as she smiled and picked up the pace a little, her wings opening at her sides a little, feeling the winds pull at them. The scent of the seas catching her nose.* "Besides, we're almost to where I bath, I can smell it from here." she said looking toward the horizon where the waves of teh sea could be seen lapping at the sandy shores.

Iris giggled as she was 'bumped' back, sparkles falling from her wings and landing on Zahia's back and neck. "See? Isn't it nicer to be able to see the world?" she said cheerily. Her nostrils picked up the faint smell of salt, which became stronger as they continued to move, and when she looked away from the Unico, she too saw the glittering sea in the distance, and only then realized how hot it had become since midday, and how inviting the ocean looked.

*Zahia's coat seemed to sparkle with teh collected sweat that had gathered from their 'journy' to the sea. Kicking up a little more she headed into the surf before even stopping. Water crashed under her dark green hooves and splashed up against her belly. Stopping once she could barely feel teh ground beneath her she turned and looked back toward Iris.* "I guess, but I'm still a little unsure. But with the growing ammount of friends, I'll be over my tentitiveness.... I hope." She smied moving back toward the shallows, her tail drifting behind her like a streamer. A soggy one at that.

She smiled at the young mare's dash to the water, trotting along at her regular pace until she reached the sea edge. She dipped one hoof into the water carefully, giggling as the water lapped away from her, then back over her hoof again. She took a few more steps until she was knee-deep in the water, sighing softly as she knelt down, the cool water going halfway up her body, her tail completely immersed. She was careful to keep her wings pointing straight upwards the whole time, so as not to get hem wet. Sea water was, in fact, quite bad for her wings, as the salt could cause them to stiffen and leave her unable to fly until it was washed off. "Friends truly are wonderful things" she commented with a soft smile.

*Zahia remained out in teh deeper water, not afraid her her feathered wings getting wet at all by the salt water. It was cooling to say the least. Dipping her head a little she stepped a little closer to Iris, lifting her head up once more. Once in the shallows she laid down neat teh larger mare.* "Friends are something I lack, but hopefully will come to have. The sea seemed to be my only friend until I met you and my adoptive Parents who now have a family of their own..." *She went silent again as she looekd out at teh larger waves, wondering what her adoptive family was doing. Most likely keeping the youngsters in line.*

Iris closed her eyes and dipped her head under the water, her ears stil peeking out so she could still hear Zhia. She emerged a few seconds later, her hair dripping down over her eyes. "I'm sure they still love you, new family or not" she said, smiling uner her mass of hair. She tossed her head to one side, her mane making a slapping sound as it hit against her neck. Blinking a couple of times to get the seawater out, she turned to look at Zahia. "And someone as sweet as you should easily make friends here, what with all the other lovely Equus that live here"

*Zahia watched Iris as she had dipped her head under the water, shaking her head a little as her long mop that was considered a mane was laready sopping wet from her romp in the water. Her wings folded loosely to her sides she lookde back toward the mare.* "Yea, besides my family, the only other Equu I've seen is a strange white stallion whom I've only seen. Never met before." *She shook her head a little looking back toward the shore knowing that when the left the water her tail would collect a lot of that sand...* "But I'm sure I will find someone someday to consider more then just a friend... Just not right now if I can help it at least."

Above, Continued:

"Strange white stallion?" she asked, tilting her head to one side, her mane dipping into the water. "I've seen a few of those around, I can say!" she giggled. "There are so many of us in Eden, you could mean any number of Equus!" she smiled, wiggling her snout*, "But no matter, i'm sure he was a handsome devil, white always looks good an a man." she winked, flicking her tail and splashing a little water on Zahia's back. "But as Queenie always says, don't get hung up on a handsome stranger whem the perfct mate could be just around the corner!" she shifted about in the water, wiggling erself down a little into the wet and. "She's always saying things like that, and she always finds that perfect mate" she giggled again, licking the salt off her nose.

*Zahia giggled as water was splashed upon her back, she tried to repay Iris, but only managed to get her tail wrapped about her head instead.* "Oh he was a handsome one. Completely white with a little bit of grayish black on his nose. But he looked handsome anyways." She nodded trying she shake her long tail off her head which was proving really complicated. *Her tail was wrapped about her head and spiraled up her horn like a dark blue snake, she looked pretty funny to say the least. It wasn't that she wanted her mane up about her face and tangled with her mane, she regreted trying to flick water at Iris. Zahia vowed to not try again, if this was going to be the result of the whole thing... Her face grew warm with blush as she was having difficulties with untangling her wet soggy tail from her face.* "Ah... A little help please?" she asked looking at Iris most mournfully.

Iris laughed at the tangled mess that was a Unico moments before, feeling a little bad for doing so as the poor thing was embarassed enough as it was. She wrapped her antennae around a few locks of hair and proceeded to unravel Zahia from her hair using her antennae and mouth with surprising dexterity. After a few moments she got the last piece of hair from around her horn and smiled, "There we go!" she playfully splashed a little water at her with her forehoof.

*As her mane was pulled away from her face she smiled her face feelign warmer then it had a moment ago. She was quite embarrssed for getting herself so entangled in her own tail, but figured once an adult, it might be even longer. She didn't know.* "Thank you, I don't know what I would have done." She giggled as she turned her head to teh side a little as she was splashed again. *Shanding she kicked a little water toward Iris. Not letting the mare get away that easily, but was mindful not to aim for her wings, not wanting to harm them in anyway. She respected the older Equu, to the point where she was a friend, one she had known for a long while yet.... Even if she did just met Iris that afternoon.*

Iris squealed with surprise when Zahia splashed her "Oh no you didn't!" she piped, giggling as she stood up, kicking some water back at her, laughing all the while. "Now I shall have my revenge!" she giggled, stomping her forefeet upand down, splashing water everywhere. "Kyahahaha!" she shouted in a mock-evil laugh. suddenly taking up into the air to avoid any retaliatory splashings by her new friend. "Can't catch meeee!" she called, flying about in circles.

*Laughing, Zahia tried her best to get Iris back before she took toward the skies above. Smiling up at her newly found friend, Zahia opened her own wings and took to teh skies, her soggy tail trailing bahind her, dripping salt water back to teh waves below.* "Oh no? Don't forget that I have wings as well." She smiled watching Iris with one eye as she tried to remain in one places. "Bu I will get you." *Smiles still as she came forward a little to fall in behind Iris, stretching her neck out to try and n** at her tail, knowing that her own was drying and would soon look like a long dark blue banner then a tail.*

Iris flicked her tail up just before Zahia got to it, spinning around mid-air to face her, causing droplets of water and sparkles to fly everywhere. "No! Eeeeeebil!" she squealed, sticking out her unusually long, purple, tounge. She flapped her wings at Zahia, causing a large amount of sparkles to fly about, covering the Unico in them, though they faded away after a few moments, as he sparkles always did once leaving her body. "Kayahaha!" she chirped in her little laugh, "You will never escape my sparkly wrath!"

*Zahia smiled at Iris as she had pulled her tail away before she could get a hold of it. She was having fun with this mare, more then with anyone else before now... Then again, she hadn't really met anyone when she was younger. Flapping her own wings to keep above the waves she gace a shocked and fale hurt look as she backed away from the sprkles and out over deeper water.* "Nooooo. They're too stong for me!" She smiled as her eings folded to her sides and she plunged into the deep water below. *Making quite the splash as she did, Zahia remained under the surface for a few seconds before resurfacing closer to the shallower waters. Coughing a little she looked up at Iris, smiling as she pulled herself out of the water and shook off. Spraying small droplets all over the place. Son laying down in the grass near the beach, her long tail almost encircling her. For the first time, she was feeling tired from more then just friendless boredom.*

Iris giggled even louder when Zahia splashed under the water "VICTORY IS MINE!" She proclaimed, fluttering over to where Zahia re-surfaced, hanging back until she shook herself off before landing beside her, buffing her hooves on the grass to remove the sand that had dried onto them before lying down and licking at her legs, getting the salt off her dark purple patterning. "Hehe, that was fun!" she said, smiling warmly at her companion, wiggling her antennae to make sure they didn't get stiff from the salt.

*Giving a Dramatic 'dead' look she laughed shaking her head a little, her soggy mane sticking to her neck liding only a little in her movements as she looked at Iris. She wasn't too worried about the salt. it would come off when she bathed in rain, or when she chose teh roll in the grass later.* "That was fun, more fun then I had when I was but a foal." She nodded feeling that she may have come out of her tentitve shell around Iris, though not too sure about anyone else just yet... "I feel as if I had been running for so long without stopping, I'm exhausted." She sighed laying her head in the grass that tickled her nose. "What about you?" she asked looking up at Iris, hoping to be as big as her in the future.*

She nodded and stopped licking her coat, laying her head on her feet. "I must say, i'm pretty darn tired too!" she agreed, shifting the small pieces of cartlidge and bone in her back to allow both her wings to fall to the same side without causing them any damage, so they didn't get in Zahia's way. "I hope it doesn't get too cold soon, 'cause I don't think i'm gonna move for a year!" she decided, her antennae and tail flopping down giving her the look as if her whole body had fallen in an exhausted heap.

*Zahia gave a laugh as she looked up toward the skies. Her eyes watching the clouds for a moment before hidding behind heavy eyelids.* I doubt that there will be any cold weather, It's too nice out for that." She giggled fallsing asleep, something her body seemed to ache for, sleep...*

Iris smiled at her sleeping friend, feeling the sand-man tugging at her own eyelids. She shifted her wings again so they were on the other side of her body and rolled onto her side. tucking her feet up to her body and laying her head down, she closed her eyes and dozed off too, her antennae curling up and uncurling in rhythm with her breathing.

You know Iris?!?
Zahia Meets Queenie

Queenie shimmied along her way through one of the many fields of Eden, singing to herself as she went,
"Lala la la lala laaaa Kisses and cuddles and snuggles with mittens..." she swished her crimson and black tail happily, her highly preened coat shining brightly in the sun. She threw her scepter up in the air like a cheerleader's baton, causing a cascade of irridescent hearts to fall everywhere around her, before catching it in her mouth and continuing on her way, humming her little tune.

*It had been a few days since the young unico had had a day of play with a new friend. One she couldn't help, but not be scared, or timid around. Standing out in the open and feeling less.. Secluded, Zahia grazed with her eyes half lidded. the sun on her wings made her back warmer then normal, she didn't mind. Her long horn poked at teh ground gently as she chewed at the grass, lifting her head up some and pulling her long mane away from the ground. Zahia had to look around, something had caught her attention, turning a little she noticed another... This was was stranger then Iris, this one looked like she should have been more on a thorn then out here... Turning Zahia cantered otward a shadowed place that she apparently called home and ducked inside, her long tail ribbling gently behind her as she went. Hoping to not be spotted, but as last time, she most likely was... Typical...*

Out of the corner of her eye Queenie spotted a long-haired Equu dashing into the shade. Guessing from her blue hair and purple body, Queenie assumed she was the young mare her friend Iris had met a few days ago. Having been warned that she was a bit of a shy one, Queenie decided to go all-out to be nice to her. Cantering over to Zahia's shady spot, Queenie smiled as best she could with her scepter in her mouth before spitting it out, the scepter inexplicably did not land on the ground, but instead hovered at her side.
"Greetings, are you Zahia?" she asked, smiling in a friendly manner.

*She had just made it into the small hallow of trees, well it was only four trees with bushes encumpassing the opening, but one that Zahia had used as a door way of sorts. Pulling her long tail inside the small hollow as the strange equus came to her door. Poking her head out a little she looked at this mare, hoping that when she was older she wouldn't be so timid...* "My name's Zahia, who are you?" she asked canting her head to one side. "You one of Iris's friends?"

Queenie smiled happily at being recognized, kinda. "Yup, I'm Queenie!" she beamed, swishing her tail back and forth. "You are far prettier than Iris had told me!" she said, giving the mare a quick look over. She fluttered her butterfly wings, sending a small scatter of translucent hearts towards the ground. She took a step forward, moving closer to Zahia "So why are you trying to hide away from me, i'm not scary, am I?".

*She had to hang her head at the question about Queenie being, 'scary'. Of course she wasn't scary, no one was really scary. It was her nature to be shy, tentitive and all that jazz. Stepping out of her hollow, Zahia looked back at Queenie, a small smile upon her indigo face.* "Of course not. No one is really ever scary, it's just... My nature..." She said trying to think if what exactly to say. "It is a pleasure to meet you Queenie." *Nodding a little she had to stretch her own wings, not that there wasn't anything special about them, unlike her friends that seened to have sparkles or other things coming from them. They were basically normal, feathered wings. But at least they let her fly of course. The comment about her being pretty had completely missed her mind in all this. As if she never heard it at all...*

"I understand dear, we all have our own... nature." she smiled and gave the young mare a gentle, encouraging nudge, knowing how some Equus would look down at her for her own choices at life. "But a mare as young and pretty as yourself should be out enjoying life! Not hiding away in some dingy forest!" she continued, "And I must say i'm rather envious of your gorgeous horn! Horns are such pretty things, I hide the fact I don't have one with my crown!" she giggled, wiggling her ears.

*zahia had to look back at her home, it wasn't 'dingy' not at all. It was fairly nice and sheltered when the seasons changed. Shaking her head she looked at Queenie once more as she spoke of her horn. It seemed that many liked her horn, surely that it wasn't that special. Only a growth on her forhead...* "I thank you for the compliment, but surely that it's not that... Special.." She half muttered moving further from her small home, letting her back from to gasps with the sun again. Still not overly sure about all this. Iris was one thing, but... Well... It felt like that meeting all over again only with a different Equus.*

The Demi-God, The Valkyrie and the Coward
Ice_Dragon_Demon, Rapidashtrainer and Kesmi

Raynor Rian flexed his four wings sitting by a river; there wasn't much to do lately. Fall was coming and he could feel it. The days became colder but not cold enough for the winter. Things were dismal and boring. Nothing exciting.

The demi god blew some sort of cold fire from his mouth and froze part of the river. "How bland." he muttered.

----

Fall was fast appraoching, not that it mattered to Lereth as she landed along the bank of the river. Spring, summer, fall and winter were just seasons that mortals made to mark time. Time it seemed, was something much treasured by mortals. Lereth could understand it that much. She had afterall helped a few end their lives before their time.

Like what she was about to do now if everything were to go as planned. Sometimes, mortals tend to be rather uncooperative...

Closing her eyes, Lereth summoned Vidar, her companion to seek out the souls of those worthy of joining the ranks of celestial warriors.

----

Raynor stood quickly sensing some kind of magic. It wasn't evil it was neutral. Raynor Rian started to think. Who the hell was it? The four winged demi god stared in the direction he felt the magic had come form. Was it a challenge of some sort? It was a good thing Rikka wasn't here. He would have a problem protecting her and himself all at the same time.

"Who's there?" he called without fear "Show yourself." He flicked his long multi colored tail. His senses were alert as he looked around. He knew they were there. He too doubted they had fought with a demi god before considering there were so few.

----

Who's there?, Show yourself Lereth pricked her ears forward at those words while Vidar crouched low and snarled. How did someone knew that she was here? Mortals were not supposed to be able to see her unless she wished it. Unless...this being was no mortal. In that case, he( for she was sure that it was the voice of a stallion) would be an immortal; or at least a being with a deity's blood in him.

Stepping softly into view Lereth stood and held her head proudly and silently towards the stallion. He was, as she had guessed someone with the blood of a deity in him though impure.

----

*Indigo ears twitched upon her head as if she had heard something, eyes remaining closed as the young Unico had been 'trying' to sleep through the day, she was finding it increasingly impossible to do so with all the noise and distractions. Shaking her head and letting her long mane tumble over her shoulders and around the horn that happened to be attached tto her forehead, she stood looking around. Equally indigo wings folded to her sides as she looked around, her long tail twitching behind her, barely making it off the ground.*

"Who?" she wondered softly, taking careful steps as to not be noticed, minding to keep herself to the shadows.

*She came to see a strange stallion speaking to... The air? This came across as odd to her, was there something else there? Surely she was just imagining things as she remained within her hiding place upon the other side of the river, her large wings fluttering a little as she tried not to fidget but, being what she was. she couldn't sit still, thinking that someone would see her for sure if she remained still in one place too long...*

----

The warrior mare showed herself. What did she want? And why was she here? He hadn't realized that it was his being a half god that allowed him to see the warrior mare. She was clearly proud as all warriors are. Hell he was proud to of being a half god.

"My name's Raynor Rian." he said then asked "Why are you here?" he stood proud himself. If she still wanted to fight so be it.

Another caught his attention nearby what the hell? They were just popping up everywhere “You come out.” He said looking directly at the one’s hiding place. Not to mention she seemed too timid. He turned his attention back to the Valkyrie. Not good to turn his head on a warrior.

----

"And mine's Lereth Hildr," Lereth replied before casting a glance to the other equus to whom Raynor had directed part of his speech to. Narrowing her eyes slightly Lereth could make out the outline of a female equus with flowing hair in the shadows. Thinking that it would seem improper to appear as air to the femlae equus, Lereth revealed herself while Vidar, sensing that he was not required for the moment disappeared.

"As to what I am doing here, I am merely fulfilling my duty," Lereth replied haughtily.

----

*Spotted, she was caught and there were very little places to go and hide, then again, he could have followed her just about anywhere if wanted. To swallowed hard and was about to step out into the light, casting away the shadows when something else appeared. A stunning white mare with glistening armor... a bewildered look came across her face before she stepped completely out into sight. Letting the sun touch her indigo coat and her long blue mane looking like a waterfall over her shoulders. At times it was annoying to have long hair, but she dwelled with it. Stepping up to the river, she remained upon her own side, watching silently as if a feline had taken her tongue. She couldn't speak to others as freely as she wished, merely watched, her wings fidgeting at her sides...

This wasn't going to go well if anger came across to her, her main idea was to flee if a fight were to come about. Flee like the young coward she was...

----

"And what does fulfilling your duty have to do with me Lereth Hildr?" he inquired of the white armor clad mare seeing her wolf vanish. But couldn't the other equus see her? Raynor wondered if because of his half blood he was able to see her with ease. That was strange.

"What are you” he then asked, He didn’t know much about war or the spirits surrounding it.

Raynor looked to the rather timid equus. He had seen only one other like that and Skadi told him about another unico as they were called. "Thank you," he told her, well at least he could see her. He didn't take kindly to being spied on.

----

Lereth narrowed her eyes at the stallion. Half-blood as he might be, Lereth did not take kindly to strangers. And hadn't he asked what she was here for? Now he was asking what had he to do with it. "Nothing," Lereth replied curtly. Meeting him had caused her to waste precious time. Someone else might have claimed that dying soul before her.

"And I am a Valkyrie," Lereth again replied as curtly as before. " I guide the souls of dead warriors,"

----

*Zahia gave a nod to the stallion before giving another to the Valkyrie, this one was a bit deeper then the other, meant in more then a nod, a bow perhaps? Opening her wings a bit she only folded them again turning toward down river, where she could possibly cross over more safely and not seem as threatening. Trailing her long tail behind her she step a ways before opening her wings to merely glide across the water, landing less them graceful upon the other side...*

"Ouch..." She muttered picking herself up off the ground, a knee scraped up a bit, but nothing she couldn't handle. An 'outcast' could handle anything, BUT talking to others freely...

----

Never had he heard of something like that. Maybe he should keep his ears open wider. "It's a pleasure to meet you then." he said. No doubt she thought he as mortal until he had called her and Lereth realized he had some god blood in him.

"I suppose you have other things to do then Valkyrie." he said "You shouldn't be held up." he said. No doubt she wanted to get away as fast as possible.

"My Mother is the winter goddess Coenea." he added for good measure to the Valkyrie. Next time they met, she wouldn't confuse him for a mere mortal and seek his soul. He still was half a god.

Raynor watched the unico stumble out of the corner of his eye. She seemed ok so he wouldn't ask if she was. "What’s your name?" he inquired of the unico.

----

Whether Lereth was impressed or not at the mention of Cornea, the Goddess of Winter was up to anyone's guess as the valkyrie's face remained impassive. Nevertheless she did arched her neck slightly to show that she had heard the stallion. " Very well then Raynor, son of Cornea, Winter Goddess. I shall take my leave then,"

Spreading her wings, Lereth was about to take flight when a sudden motion behind the winged purple mare caught her attention. It was what she had initially arrived here for. The soul of a recently deceased warrior. Flaring her wings Lereth then made a swift motion for the said soul before it became a lost soul; doomed to forever remain in the mortal realm. Or worse...being claimed by other malicious spirits. "Don't move!" Lereth barked sharply at the female equus.

----

*Turning her head toward the pair, Zahia had started walking toward them, but instantly froze as she was barked at by the armored mare. Eyes blinking a couple of times, she watched them and glanded around without trying to move. Her 'hurt' knee had started to bother a small bit, but she could handle it. Turning her head toward the demi-god she opened her mouth to reply to him.*

"My name's Zahia." She said softly though her voice carried itself to them as if upon the wind, though she had to wonder why the other mare had barked at her to not move... Had she done something wrong? Should she had just remained upon the other shore where it was safest? Many questions, too few answers...

Roses are Roses
Draven & Lereth

Vidar: *notices Draven eyeing him* What is it grass eater? Never seen a wolf before?

----

Draven: *Shakes his head* I have seen many things in my life time, you are hardly unusual... *Falls silent and turns away from the wolf, walking a bit stiff legged as to not let the thorns upon the ivy cut into his hind legs.*

----

Vidar: Turning your back on me are ya, flower boy? That'd be a wrong thing to do.

----

Draven: *Snorts.* And why not? I have no need to 'fight' with you. In any event, I have other things to do. *Keeps walking, hopelessly trying to ignore the wolf behind him.*

----

Vidar: I'll show you why. Herbivor! *Rushes at Draven*

Lereth: Vidar, stop.

Vidar: *abruptly stops but snarls menacingly at Draven* He has insulted me deeply Lereth Valkyrie.

Lereth: It may be so but we do not call attention onto ourselves if we can help it.

----

Draven: *Had stopped and looked back at the wolf that had charged toward him, though it stopped as someone else called out to it.* "Insult you? No, just stating a fact that I have no fight with you, whether or not my back is turned to you. *Lowers his horned head a bit as if in a bow, not quite noticing the Valkyrie whom was still hidden, behind him and out of his line of sight.*

----

Vidar: *snarls* Do not think that I am not capable of inflicting harm onto you. Were it not for my allegiance to Lereth, you'd be dead right now.

Lereth: Vidar. Restrain yourself.

Vidar: As you wish, Lereth. *Slowly disappears*

----

Draven: *Gives a sort of a shrug as if it was nothing.* Death is just another journal in life. *Turning he caught sight of the armored mare.* "Good day Lady Valkyrie. *He bowed to her as if she were of higher rank then he was, then again, He was a fallen instead of the pure angel's figure he once was.* Sorry to have upset your... Pet. *His tone a bit apologetic.* He seems quick to turn a simple meeting into a bloodbath.

----

Lereth: *Eyes Draven coldly* He was born with fighting blood within him. One cannot blame him for wanting to do battle.I fear you have managed to anger not only him but me as well. He is not pet. He is an invaluable alley who has helped me many a time and, I too, was made for battle.

----

Draven: *Merely dips his head again.* "As you say Lady Valkyrie. I am just a wounded soul who seems to always look at the worst of things." *Turns his head away staring up toward the skies, though seems weighted down by the ivy upon his hind legs.* "Everyone is created with a purpose, mine was to fall from being something pure to something half living you could say. As it is, one who guards a field of black roses isn't a proper life, being that the roses themselves cause death if mixed in the right way... *Shaking his head he stepped further away from the mare, his tail twitching a little, though strands snagged upon the thorns of the ivy.*

----

Lereth tilted her head slightly at this remark. "Why do you not leave that accursed place then? Why stay?"

----

*Draven barely shrugged as he stopped once more and turned around to look at the Valkyrie. His dark eyes looking like deep endless pools, empty of what life could have filled them.* "I can not, for the field itself holds something that keeps this body from resting. When I picked a rose, it stole half my soul. Trapping my fate to guarding the flowers so no other fools make the same mistake and fall for the roses' beauty as my young, foolish heart had." He puts simply as his wings shift at his sides, revealing their blackened selves, though the tips had remained white to show what they once had been.

----

"I see...," Lereth replied softly. "Your story...it has been repeated many a time before by foolish lovers; though the outcome may vary. You have my sympathy but not my help, for I do not have the power to undo what you have done. Do your duty well guardian of the black roses for perhaps, salvation may come once the penalty is paid,"

"Or it might not come at all," Vidar muttered as he appeared beside Lereth once more.

"Indeed...sometimes a wrong can never be righted," agreed Lereth nodding her head gently. "But then again, that is not within my jurisdiction as well,"

----

*He had to shake his head as a sigh escaped him, his penalty would never be repaid, not with the tainted limbs that clung to his body. He could never return to the bight skies as he wished, no, he was ground from now until time decided to relieve him of his duties and he passed on.* "I would not want you to help, even if you could have. I take my duty with pride in knowing that I can stop another from making the same mistakes, just as you have your duties. I have endured my banishment this long, I can keep going until fate itself takes the roll." Though trying to sound 'happy' there was hollowness there, sadness of many countless years that seemed to only build up upon each other, still... It was his life or half life, whichever you could call it. And he would live with it, the acid raid didn't hurt anymore, for that he was grateful...*

----

"Fate can be a cruel thing," Lereth replied at Draven's remark. " You may bear this burden with pride, but for how long? A hundred years? A thousand years? Tens of thousands?" Here Lereth paused as if to recollect herself.

"Do not misunderstand. Your deed is indeed a noble one but no one is supposed to suffer for an eternity. And once again I have spoken words that are not mine to say," Lereth remarked dryly. "As of late I seem to be forgetting my place. Lord Death would be most displeased,"

"No he wouldn't," growled Vidar. " You have been with him long enough-,"

"-To know that he is unpredictable," Lereth cut in casting a glace at Vidar. "I thank you for your opinion and I shall keep mine,"

----

"As long as the stars remain in the skies and the earth remains beneath my hooves." He smiled watching them as they seemed to 'fight' over what had to be said.

*Wings fluffing at his sides for a moment, he watched the Valkyrie and her companion come to blows in words before his gaze toward the skies again as they seemed to sort out things. Stepping backwards into the shadows before seeming to vanish, leaving behind what looked like a very deep red rose upon the ground, it's long thornless stem gleaming a deepgreen color, was it left as a gift? Or something else... None the less it seemed to be left got the Valkyrie alone, whether or not she accepted it, was up to her...*

"Perhaps another time you can see the world I have been cast into M'lady Valkyrie, but for right now it may be best you don't..." came Draven's voice as if on the wind from where he had vanished, almost 'daring' someone to follow him...

----

Upon seeing the rose, Lereth's eyes softened for an instant as if recalling a distant memory. Soon however, those eyes hardened as the Valkyrie looked up and was met with emptiness. Stepping past the rose the Valkyrie yelled. "Keeper of the Black Roses! Do not think that I am afraid of your world. Death those roses may cause but I too am a bringer of death!"

Who was he to think that only he was suffering from an error that was done long ago? Who was he to act like as if suffering from one's mistake is something so noble and pure?

----

*There was silence as Draven seemed to had vanished completely into another time, another world all together as it seemed, but his voice did drift back to the same plain as the Valkyrie was upon and sounded very distant, and somewhat distort.*

"If you are so sure M'lady. Then I can not stop you, but take heed that there's more then just roses within this field even if you can not see them." Was what was said as what looked like a small ball of light came toward the Valkyrie soon stopping and opening to give a glimps of the black fields and equally black skies that seemed to weep anything but pure rain. "If you are sure, then I can not stop you come coming as it is the foolish I could only stop, you are far from the foolish mind M'lady."

----

Lereth would have instantly stepped into the said image were it not for one problem. Vidar was blocking her path. "Move aside Vidar," Lereth said as she attempted to take another step forward. "I do not fear the roses,"

"No, Lereth Valkyrie. I shall not. Those roses are accursed. You must not fall victim to them. Immortal as you are, you can still be killed if you attempt to carry out such thoughtless acts as these," Vidar replied baring his teeth to show that he meant business. " I shall not hesitate to hurt you Lereth Valkyrie if it would mean that you'd not be able to enter that realm. Death that risides there is of a different kind. Please...,"

"Vidar...," said Lereth stepping back a step. "I never knew...,"
"Trust me Lereth Valkyrie. Have I not served you long enough to gain that trust?" Vidar asked softly. "Have I not been a good Einherjar?"

"You are more than an Einherjar. You have come to be my friend," Lereth mumured, the fire in her eyes disappearing. "Very well then Vidar, I shall heed your advice,"

Lifting her head to the direction of the void, Lereth called out "Keeper of the Black Roses. It seems that I am unable to come. Perhaps I will when and if the poison rain has stopped,"

----

*There was another silence as the only sounds was the hiss of the acid rains that fell to feed the roses, it was a wonder that even the stallion could have survived within them conditions without becoming harmed as well. Stepping into sight where he could more or less just look back toward Lereth.*

"I am sorry I can not stop the rain, but as the pure rain is vital to your land, the acid is vital to this. When there is a time that it stops, I will call." He said bowing his head, his bangs looking soggy and stuck to his face a bit. "You are wise wolf, don't let anyone tell you other wise, and don't let the foolish like myself cross without some punishment." Draven chuckled shaking his head.

*Draven stepped back a step, as another hiss range though the air as a large black serpent seemed to wind itself up Draven's leg to stare at the others with glassy red eyes, before slithering over Draven's back and back to the ground to vanish into the dark grass. Draven only shook his head at the serpent as it left with only a passing glance and a short message, that the tide was turning and the rain would be stopping soon.*

"The serpent has told me that the rain would be ceasing to fall soon, if one would like to wait. Or I could move the portal to a sheltered place where the rain falls not and is safe for both to pass through." He suggested, not knowing of their choices.

----

"Don't you get it herbivor? Lereth's not going in," Vidar said glaring at the stallion. "Why do you insist that she enters that deathly realm? Do you have an ulterior motive within your mind?"

"Will I not be harm by those thorns?" Lereth asked looking directly at Draven. "Or is it that going there I am able to assist you in some way or another?"

"My lady!" Vidar gasped in astonistment. " Please do not attempt such foolishness. Your place is here, in Eden and not in that forsaken realm,"

----

"The thorns are only a warning that the roses provide, if one doesn't go near the roses, then the thorns are just what they are, thorns. Just as the Roses are roses, they only kill when crushed and wither in pure sunlight. the only thing that could cause harm would be the rains that fall, or the vipers if they feel threatened." He explained looking out over his home, before looking at the wolf. "The choice is hers if she wishes to enter, I only give options. Like I gave her the option to accept my gift, but as it is, it still lays on the ground from whence I placed it." he pointed out.

*Shaking his head, Draven seemed to vanish again from sights, the portal itself had started to shrink away, soon leaving just himself staring at them, his coat still soggy looking before he shook just a little, but nothing came from his coat. No water, no acid, it seemed to be just a normal termer before he just looked at them.*

"I thought showing M'lady a darker corner of Eden and what holds half of my soul. That she might have just been able to help me, to clear that dark place and make it as harmless as a kitten. But it seems that the time is wrong, I have not gained the trust, nor will I ever." He fell silent turning his head to the side. "Do as you will, but my shadow won't darken your paths." With that said, he opened his blackened wings and launched himself into the air, straight up mind you.

----

Ignoring his remark about the rose, Lereth stepped forward and observed the flying figure. "No, you have not earned my trust. Very few have earned that gift. But....," here Lereth paused and flared her wings.

"You have clearly reminded me of the folly of love and this has stirred within me memories I'd much rather forget,"

Saying so, Lereth turned abruptly around walked off, once again passing the rose without so much as a glance to it.

The Darkness Thickens
Aubery & Astha

Aubery: *Snorts baring a fang as he retreats into the darker fringes of the trees, making sure to hide himself well from the light livers.*

Astha : ~just watches with reserved bemusement at the retreating one~

Aubery: *Turns toward a stern looking... Face and only draws himself further into the shadows to where only the small shines in his eyes could be seen.*

Astha : ~stand quietly in her own mixture of shadows...still quite bemused about the little one~

Aubery: Something caught your eye? Do tell me that it's not a waste of my time and everything. *Mutters though trying to sound more dangerous then he could be at this moment... There was also a slight playful tone to his cold voice.*

Astha : Oh..I do gather we could say, something caught my eye for this moment. Now, the matter of whether it is a waste of your time, that is yet to be seen. Hard to tell in these first few moments, yes? ~a simple calm, coolness to her tones...golden eyes drifting through the shadows he stands within~

Aubery: *Gives a huff as he let his large and rather tattered wings open at his sides before folding back to his dark sides to make it seem he was wearing a torn cloak of some sort. A rusty colored eye, never trailing from the female, who's coat seemed to make her stick out... A lot.* Indeed. The only other I've met since my coming was one rather small minded filly chewing upon my tail. And her apparent bodyguard who was less then savory in personality. Might I ask who you are? *Pauses a moment* My name's Aubery.

Astha : ~There is a slight cant to her head as she watches him produce such a display with his wings, the movement causing her braids to shift slightly, the tilt to her hat calling more attention to the movement than anything~ "Chewing upon your tail? Did you kindly chew on her in return?" ~the mare dips her head with a hint of formality~ "Aubery, I am Astharoshe Asran." ~A cool smile shifting a moment~ "Most find it a bit of a mouthful, not quite rolling of the tongue as it were for them. So many simply call me Astha."

Aubery: *Watched the strange, wingless mare who had a dark air about her... As if she was of his own kind... Might have explained his laxed nerve, unlike the other where he was ready to bite.* Unfortunately her bodyguard came to her rescue before I could even get a nibble. *He pouted gently, though it was gone just as fast.* A pleasure meeting you Astha, it's not everyday I meet one of my own, even in dismal weather. *Glances up toward the small ribbons of light that managed to slither past the thick foliage over head* Do wish the sun would not populate the sky so much. It does tend to rattle ones nerves when the hunger comes a calling at such hours when one should be sleeping.

Astha : ~the hint of blood that did course through her, not likely to be quite as pleasant or inviting as...the young filly~ Oh, that is quite a shame. If she was young, I imagine she would have had quite a tender taste to her. It would have only been fair, since she had been chewing upon you. The guardian did not see it that way though, I suspect?" ~a light questioning air hanging upon the words, even if the answer is already surmised~ Yes, there do not seem to be many a foot. It makes for a lonely time, but it also does keep one from having to worry that a fight shall occur over one's choice of meal. ~ a faint glance is given up towards the shading trees~ It does have an unpleasant habbit of coming back about. But one does get used to it over time. It can help to keep a...snack...tucked away for such inconveniences.

Aubery: I'm sure she would have tasted devine, it was just the larger stallion that lingered around her that unnerved me. In a way, he seemed ready to fend off anyone that 'chewed' upon his damsel, though her distress would have been music to mine ears. *At this he gave a fangy smile at the thought. Though at this moment he was hoping to find a meal, no matter the size, though feeding off one of his own wasn't upon the menu... Yet.* I will have to keep that in mind, I have yet to completely adjust to the times I have encountered within this land. I am sure I will become used to it's time lines soon. *He nodded stepping off to the side a little as an ear turned toward a faint sound, more then likely just a bird in the upper branches*

Astha : ~ears perk and turn a bit as her tail gives a almost lazy little swish~ "It would have been a bit more work with him about, certainly she would not have been enjoyed quit so much with him making some attempt to save her. Though...if he were fine, aged right, he might have made for a nice taste himself. " ~there is the faintest of dips, only noticable due to how her hat moves, the red bit of mane shifting just barely upon her head~ "It can be tiresome making those adjustments. But I do advise it, finding a nice filly or foal to groom and keep. They can be quite pleasant in those times a light snack is needed to tide you over til a more proper meal can be found. "

Aubery: *Perking up at the idea of getting a foal or filly at some point to keep as his own personal prey did sound interesting. He would have to make a mental note of that and when the night came, he would have to seek out such a thing.* I'm sure I can lure away a small morsel when the night comes sometime. I will just have to be careful not to alert others. *He nodded as again his attention was drawn upwards. Opening his wings, he lunched himself into the canopy over head, soon small feathers began to rain down. It would seem that he had found a small snack... A lost bluebird...*

Astha : ~a smile tugged at her mouth when the idea seemed to be taken up by the stallion~ It can be quite beneficial as well, to lure in a young one...for you can season them and help them to age properly so that they remain a rather sweet and delightful little source for snacks. They can even become most agreeable, if not eager to fullfill their role. ~the mare's stance shifting a touch sending the long folds along her rump and back legs ruffling a touch. Her head tilting back to watch the launch and attack upon the bird. taking a step back to avoid being rained upon, it could be a difficult thing to get stains out of the white~

Aubery: *Having plucked his snack, the meat was most tender for what it was, the blood of the small bird still stained his dark muzzle as he landed back upon the ground before the mare. His tongue was quick to clean what there was away and along the lightly stained fangs. It would suffice he supposed until arrangements could be made about a young life.* I'm sure it can be, but for the moment, small meals such as the one I had just taken can saten my hunger until further, larger ones can be taken. *He nodded wondering of where he could find a young one this late in the season, surely he would have to wait until after the bad times before seeing ones as young as near newborns.*

Astha : ~there was some interest as she watched the meal taken, small, but it was yet a hunt even if short. And there was always some intrigue in watching another take their meal~ They can be sufficient. ~her head dipping in a motion of agreement~ Though they do tend to be more satisfying and enjoyed when hunger is not as great. There are several families of deer that inhabit the forest, not quite so delightful as a young filly, but the taste is still pleasant and one tends to find them able to sate the hunger with more ease.

Aubery: *watched the mare as she spoke of a herd of deer. He had heard of such things, but thought they were rather hard to catch, unless you could charm on in such a way... He would manage on his own he supposed, he could hunt like any other, even if most his prey turning out to be mere mouthfuls at times.* I'll have to go searching for this herd of deer. They happen to sound divine, though I still have in mind to 'nibble' on that filly that was chewing upon my tail. Bodyguard or not. *He grinned at this thought, ut it was soon hidden from sight as he turned his marked face to the side a little to watch with a single rusty eye.* Do you happen to have a small creature to groom? Not that you have to say, just a curios question I couldn't put aside. *Lowers his head a little as if he were prying too much.*

Astha : "They are often found upon the edge of the clearing at the times where the sun thinks to return and again when it wanes away and gives way to the proper hours. They will linger in the darker hours sometimes as well. " ~a smile forming smoothly at the return to the filly~ She is still needing to return the pleasure, perhaps the bodyguard can be other wise distracted. Surely he would have others to see after. ~another faint shift occurs as the mare moves, adjusting her form, the motions smooth and effortless, gold eyes briefly dancing a glance out to the sunlite field beyond the edges of shadow before being drawn back to him at the question~ I have kept such, yes. My current is grown, but still sweet and most agreeable. It can be difficult sometimes to find one that pleases us and suits to this purpose, but sometimes it is the finding that is most enjoyable.

Aubery: *Took more and more into consideration of what this mare was saying. She certainly was wise, being that she was 'older' then he. A fledgling he was basically, new to the world and still very young indeed. He made mental notes as to where to find the deer and that he could possibly do something to that he could nibble upon a filly called Chessy, though she looked about his age actually. Still...* Back home, the only thing larger then birds to eat were boar and they weren't very tasty, bland at best, we all weren't really allowed to keep personal prey. It was considered against the law and fledglings like myself were left to die if we couldn't hunt for ourselves, I learned quickly and glad i did. *nods, though a shiver traveled down his spine thinking of home, a dark place, a cruel place he was glad to be rid of.*

Astha : ~there was a smooth and gentle cant to her head as he spoke about home, a hint of thought appearing within her expression before it was smoothed away again~ The name alone does not make them sound much appealing. Not pleasant to hunt. Boar just sounds...brutish, it does not flow well off the tongue either, I must say. I am afraid you must forgive me if I offend, but what was once your home does not sound as if they were very..civilized there. " ~ a faint little wuff of a polite snort made at the thought of lacking personal prey~ "It is also rather odd to cast out fledglings so...rudely, if one is to bring about another into our world, there is a measure of responsibility there to take them under one's care and guidance. To teach them and prepare them so they are able to stand upon their own. Admittedly, if there is one that turns out to be most....slow in learning, resistant, none are to troubled if the stain is wiped away."
