if you do the haunted house thing, then I would reccomend that you look into the legalities behind it. I know that for public scare things like that you CANNOT touch people. The second that you do you're liable if someone gets hurt durring the event... which is something that you don't want to deal with.

That also reminds me. Have you guys registered as and LLC with the government yet? That would help you greatly with the sponsors thing.

Because I do belive you have to be 18 to do so. And we have a treasure but she dose not live in Jacksonville.
Plus we need to get a buisness account. Yet again....
So, we will have to maybe find another.. well someone that can do that here.

Sorry about my none existance lately. Since school started back up i haven't had much time for gaia O.o I'm doing my best to get back into convention mode. And I'm tryiong to contact dealers. With not getting home until 2, trying to get a job, nearly passing out from heat exhaustion walking home from the busstop because my parent's won't let me drive to school until next week, and blah blah blah.....

I can still be contacted on AIM 24/7 via my cell. so don't forget that people.
And you honestly have a better chance at catching me on Myspace than Gaia sadly lol

We have started brain storming and desiding on events. B ut untill we get into more detail like panel events video screening. I think we have to be much more positive of or place of destination. And we have to see the hotels. TO know its true capacity and what type of things it can hold. I mean depending on how much each extra room is depends on how many viewing and such we show, panels. Ladida.

Big events. Thats Why I asked everyone to read one of the books and brain storm. Even look outside the wonderland box a bit. To please non theme congoers. Which Im sure will outnumber themed.

So your issue is that you had an 18+ year old who has been kinda MIA since they're not in jacksonville, but you need them to contact people/places since they are of legal age?

Why not just ask a parent? I'm sure one of them wouldn't mind since they know what you're doing.

I mean, I'd love to help (as I'm 20 and from orange park), but I go to school in Tallahassee, and I don't know how often I could be in town to help out. My degree comes first. <3

Before we jump to far ahead of ourselves now I think that I should point out that I'm starting to notice a lack of comunication. I've been talking with Tekkun, who I believe that you guys have listed as a staffer for the con and he said that he's got some things covered in that area.

Also, from what I understand based on talking to him, we have a hotel even.

Am I missing something here?

I've also gotten a preliminary of a website design worked out and well... The flyer Disco already approved.

There is also a hosting service already set up for Janicon here and a Message board in place. All that needs to be done on that end is to perchase the domain name.

I also made a banner to advertise with:

Personally, I think that we're starting to get a little bit disorganize here in the thread and that we should take actual convention planning to the message board that Tekkun set up. Keep this thread here (or delete it and start another one) for promotional purposes only.

Well since this thread is going to be closed and locked within the next few days, let me do a final update.

JaniCon will take place on November 23 - 25, 2007.

Pre-Reg is $20 untill March 1, 2007, then it will be $25. At-door is $30.
