T'would have seemed better to have gotten a new car... O_o Seriously, with all that done to your vehicle... life savings drained? I've heard and seen each of those problems singularly, but all at once. Ouch... Oh yeah, I am not dead lol. mrgreen How has it been around here?

Nope not really lol. Christmas is too commercialized and it eventually gets to everyone.
Yeah, the car was a pain, but can't afford a new one so just fixed it up all nice.
Back in October the car met the ditch. Had a flat tire, a bent rim, and the ball bearing on the passenger side went. First two were fixed for free within 24 hours. Third one took a long time to figure out. All in all my car still isn't quite right but it runs fine so I'm not complaining haha

I guess cars are like foil or paper. Once you crumple them, they are never the same. I know, I miss my truck, I have a car now... but my truck. Hoo, that was my baby. heart
Nice nice, so how have you been? What else did I miss here? Me? I got me a son now. mrgreen

Lol yeah I know. I only plan on keeping this thing for a couple more years unless my dad actually does fix it up properly like he's been promising for 5+ years. The oil leak will get fixed probably spring/summer but for now I'm staying on top of it smile

Ohhh I get it, "staying on top of it", lol because the oil pan sits under... mrgreen I think we all know where it is. Yeah, the battery completely died over the course of not running for like 4-5 days though. I hear it's none too good for a battery to die in the winter. Damages its capacity or something. I don't know, I'm not a mechanic. It'd be pretty sweet I would think to be one.

Batteries do not like the winter. If given the chance, they will completely freeze and then can only be used as paperweights - completely useless, absolutely no charge or even a hope of ever getting a charge once they're frozen. The cold really slows them down and causes them to lose their charge faster too - that's why having a block heater is good (a battery blanket or whatever is even better I've been told). Typically a car doesn't need to be plugged in until it hits -15 though.
Mine has gone almost the entire winter without being plugged in (definitely not plugged in during the coldest periods). I started the car today and it just sounded cold - which is good because I need my car tomorrow smile

Welp... time to reactivate this thread. Although I think connections are so slow, cause of the winter. Not even internet likes the cold lol. Naw it's been okay, yeah that happened to my battery, its useless. Although 120 bucks for a battery... jeez. Has it almost been a year already? Man time flies when your doing nothing.

It's also REALLY bad for your motor to be cold-started. The oil(winter grade or not) gets cold, thus it gets thick. When means it's harder to move through the cylinders. makeing the engine work twice as hard as it should. Besides, bad for gas mileage too lol. man, school really needs plugins-_-
