Malon was right behind Toad, her bow was in her hands in a matter of meer seconds. She fired a few arrows at the mask but they just bounced off. "I should have known..." Her gaze then fell upon a box in the corner of the room. She then pulled out another arrow and fired it tword the box, spliting it open. Inside was a small vial of a blueish liquid, "Perfect..." Malon made her way tword the bottle and grabbed it.

She knew this was going to be the only way... but was it really this simple? "Faith..." she wispered, "I will not let the mask controll you." With this being said she drank the contents. She started to glow and then the glow all flew into her bow, "The end is near mask..."

Malon then pulled out an arrow and loaded it, this time though instead of it just being an arrow it had a glow, it was a light arrow.... She let it fly, it seemed to wistle through the air.

Marx ran toward the tower. Beckoning for Fuzzie to follow, he pulled out his sword, and activated his haste materia. Everything seemed to slow down. A peice of rock was drifting towards him, almost lazily. But he knew in real life it would have caught him off gaurd. He swung his sword around and planted it deeply in the rock. Cracks spread from the hole, almost like glass shattering, until it was cleaved in half. He noticed where the rocks were coming from, a stairwell that looked to be the only way up. He called Fuzzie, and ran up the stair well.

"Idiots," muttered Cure from the bottom of the tower. He espied thje battle through a pair of binoculars. "It's not going to be that easy. This Mask knows how to fight back."

He stowed the binoculars inside his coat. Cure glanced up the stairs. They looked dark, and foreboding, but it was the only way up. "Like this is going to end well."

A piece of debris threatened to smash him. Cure leaped nimbly out of the way. The debris exploded. More came down on him. He ran up the stairs.

"Not gonna end well."

The mask removed Carlos from it's face and endured the arrows with ease. "You people refuse to learn, don't you!? the mangled voice exclaimed. It took advantage of a temporary ceasefire to tear off more pieces to make bombs and throw them at the ground to expose the cave leading up to the summit. Without hesitation, it jumped into the hole, with whistling and strange ticking noises behind it.

It slinked around the cave floors, listening carefully for any noises that indicated an enemy directly above him. He heard a set of fast moving footsteps, followed by smaller, more lightweight steps. Ones he could follow. He followed until it had come to the hole so that he could better see it. It was the mushroom shaped one. Excellent.

The mask placed its hand on the cave roof as the 'shroom jumped over, causing spikes of rock to just out from all sides of the hole to pin the little thing's small body directly in the middle of the hole. It let loose with a bicycle kick that sent him and large splinters of rock flying every which way, knocking the sword out of his hand. The sword fell into the hole in the Earth, and was shortly spit back out in two pieces. The hilt flew to the top of the tower, the blade itself lodged in the side of the tower.

It retreated further into the cave underneath the foolish humans.

Gamer looked up, and noticed the commotion and noise that began to come from the tower. He sighed, and ran through a few scenerios in his head. "It seems he wants us dead now, instead of later... that can't be good." Gamer looked at the object Axle had given him. He focused his thoughts, and before he knew it, he was holding the gravity gun again. Gamer nodded slowly, this would be his main offense and defense.

He pointed the gravity gun toward the ground, tightened his grip on it, and fired. usually, this was used to send objects careening into the distance, but since the object couldn't move; he did. By this method Gamer made good time up the mountain. He stopped, however, when the new bombs started raining down. He used the gravity gun to pick up a nearby rock; it was now a temporary shield. He wasn't able to continue nearly as quickly, but he was safe, at least for the time being. "I've just got to get to the tower..."

He continued his way up the mountain.

Toad hit the ground ever so softly in the cave with the pink shild around him. Seconds later it flicked and disolved. Toad got up, sun staff in hands and waved it around and pointed it to the mask. At first, more sheep named Carlos were shot out but as soon as Toad moved his direction more accurate on Faith, it blasted a beam of light. A sky blue laser struck Faith pushing him back.

Toad saw how the mask allowed Faith to do a 900 twirl in the air and land it on both feet perfectly. At this point, Toad took his staff, struck the bunt of it on the ground. By doing this, 3 giants griffons layed in front of him. Toad then pointed his staff at Faith. The griffons soared through the air and down dashing targeting to butt head Faith.

The mask let out an exasperated sound as the griffin struck squarely on its face. GRIFFINS!? Where did THAT come from!? What the hell is this thing? it thought as it landed back on its feet in time to see the next two griffins rush through the small cave corrdor towards it. It placed its hands on the floor and sent two colossal spikes up to meet the flying beasts. One spike sent the griffin hurtling up out of the cave roof and into the confusion above. The other pinned the second beast to the ceiling, crushing it until it exploded into several tiny points of light.

They're just holograms.... this staff will be mine! It started running towards the fungus when the first griffin shoved it's beak into its backside and sent it flying back up above ground. The griffins regrouped and the would be heroes gathered around brandishing their own form of weapon.

The mask let out a shrill laugh and raised its hands to the sky. Winds whipped up and thick black clouds engulfed the peak. Fog set in, making it nearly impossible to see what's in front of one's own face. The clouds above grumbled. All went silent for a second. Then a flash of lightning illuminated scene and pushed the fog out from the scene for a brief second. However, the lightning had not struck the ranchers, nor the animals. It had struck the mask. A blue electricity jolted up and down it's body, and it glowed a neon blue.

The mask left a translucent blue streak as it jumped up and tackled one of the griffins, taking great pleasure in electrocuting it as it guided it down to a jagegd rock on the sie of the mountain. The sharp point made contact, and the creature vanished, just as the last one had.

The second griffin flew down quickly after, smashing the mask with its thick tail, meeting with a nasty shock in return. The mask grab held of the mountainside with hands and legs until it stopped skidding, and skittered around the mountain, avoiding the griffin's pounding attacks, occasionall meeting it with a formidable kick of its own.

After one such pounding, the mask was able to dodge and jump on the creature's back, shocking it until the thing exploded in a thousand points of light near the summit of the mountain. The mask landed on a ledge and let out a fearsome howl out of pride and spite for those loathsome creatures that wanted to keep the moon away from it...

In a megalomanical rage, the mask lept back up onto the top of the mountain and stared the mortals down. Daring them to make some sort of move.

noise. battle. too much power in one place was a dangerous thing. Gamer made a mad dash to the tower. not to the front, but to the side. It makes no sense to just try to rush inside. Gamer thought to himself, "i don't know where he is, but he more than likely knows where i am.. " He took a few deep breaths to try to calm down, this was not the time to let the constant "run" instinct take over.

Gamer looked up to the top of the mountain, and saw the mask staring right back at him.Frantic, Gamer rushed to the side of the tower and leaned right against it, doing his best to give himself one more moment to think. He looked around to see if there was anything he could use, anything at all that could give him any sort of advantage. There was a cloth, perhaps it had been a tapestry of some sort. Gamer rolled it best he could into a ball, and then held it with the gravity gun. maybe, just maybe, it'd come in handy. only time would tell.

Cure scrambled down back the stairs and pressed his back to the wall. Exploding debris followed after him, expelling out of the tower. He took a flask from his coat, unscrewed it, drank from it, and screwed the cap back on.

Perhaps a different route...

Where were they now? The others had vanished, and the Mask had just leapt onto the top the Mountain. What the hell was going on?

Cure shook his head violently, and took another drink from his flask.

Marx heard a huge scuffle up ahead- was the mask; and Faith; coming down? Whatever it was, the tremulous shaking of the ground, walls, and ceiling was telling him one thing, and one thing only- there was going to be a ton of crap coming through. He threw his sword into the ceiling as hard as he could. Wrapping his legs around Fuzzie, he barely manged to pull himself and Fuzzie up. They would be at least someone safer on the ceiling. Then the rocks came. They were everywhere. Life was one huge vibration, ampliphied and echoing, hitting anything, hitting everything. Thrice rocks nearly hit Marx, and one tiny one caught his sword. they rumbled past for what seemed like hours. Marx hanged, growing tired and tense from hanging from a sword with a dog. And then they stopped. Marx droped down, let go of Fuzzie, and put his sword down. He started walking up the path again, until he found a hole in the roof the went to the top of the tower.
So thats were the rocks came from...
The hole wasn't large, Marx would rather finish going up the stairs than push a dog up it. One more flight, and he was face with a large oak door.

Its now or never...

Malon rushed through a side door and grabbed the side of a set of stairs that went down, Damn... what to do, what to do... Her hand gripping her small bow shook a little. I must think fast. "Damnit!" she yelled and kicked the raling with her foot, it sent a small vibration down the staircase, "If only things were that simple..."

For Axle, things were quite overwhelming. One moment he attempted to speak to his friends, then there was loud crashes and explosions, and he found himself rushing back to the ledge, only to find a massive rock flying towards him.
"Oh CRAP!" Axle cried.
He flashed, and transformed into what looked like a jester, cloathed in back and red, except his legs and feet were large, and they looked inhuman and powerful. He also wore a white mask that had a smile on it. Axle leaped away from the rock and unto the rock wall. He scurried up the wall. He dodged more boulders as he tried to get to the mask. He leaped repeatedly towards the tower, and he saw Gamer nearby. He focused his attention as the mask stood atop a ledge near the top of the mountain.
"Get ready, mask," mumbled Axle.
He leaped high, high into the air far above the mask and the mountain. When he came plummeting down, he wasn't in the same form anymore. He was now a massive, twelve foot tall creature, with white skin, powerful claws, and powerful muscles.

Cure moved quickly up the stairs. He was wasting time. He didn't have time for these acrobatics. Left, right, center, lunge! He always did hate gym while sober.

More rocks fell down around him. Debris shattered everywhere. Cure dived out of the way, and grabbed on the edge of the hole. The entire tower shook, but Cure held on.

Toad hid behind the inside on a cave. He panted.

I was a fool rushing into this fight...I should have waited to come up with a strategy.

Toad looked out in the open. He could see Cure at ease, guns in his hands, Malon with her bow taking cover behind a boulder, and Faith, waiting to make his next move and put us all in check mate. Toad's only weapon as of now was his sun staff and he was not as familiar with its power than he was with exclaiber's...or what used to be excaliber.

He peaked his head out again to see what was happening and found his two pieces of excaliber, just a couple of yards away. He looked up and discovered Faith staring straight at him. Toad ducked his head back.

I'm gonna need those pieces...

Toad then dove to a near by rock and layed low there waiting for someone, hoping not the mask, to make their move.
