maybe we could have a lotto with 2500 tickets 1g a ticket and give out prizes to people based on the random number picker. And dedicate a subforum to be decided how to be used by the lotto ticket buyers.

Random number generators are fine as long as it's not too hard to generate the numbers required, make it to hard and people will give up trying to generate it.
Picking randome members seems a better idea.

Oh Badger, what I meant was the people got tickets in order that they bought tickets and I would pick them off by generating a number between one and how ever many tickets were bought. For example, if someone bought 100 tickets first they would have 1 through 100. And if someone bought 15 tickets right afterwords they would have 101 through 115, and if someone bought 23 tickets after that they would have numbers 116 through 138. And when we do the drawing I would pick with the random generator such as a number between one and 138, "announcing a prize of "picture of inventory item" to (and then the random number would pick the number and that would be the ticket buyer that would get it,) from the numbers that were bought.
I actually think that would be easier than picking from the memberlist because then it wouldn't be biased.
Ok taking that into account I think I'll go ahead and start the lottery. We will have a maximum of 2500 tickets, or less if we decide that no-one else is going to buy tickets. You will get one number ticket per one gold spent on tickets. Payments go to MayBeCloser and when the lotto is finished will be donated by her into the guild (I can't track donations easy unless I actually receive trades for them through that account) add "2000th post contest" to the trade title so that I know they aren't just donations and that you want actual raffle tickets.

aww thats sucks.. it would have been a fun idea.. I think it went wrong because not alot of people think about the stickys.. sad...
and for me.. I forgot about it for a while.. I have suck a bad memory..

I'd suggest then, refund the 50g for the tickets from MayBeCloser, then give out the gifts as part of the talent show. And post advertisements for the talent show in the appropriate gaiaonline forums to draw in more members and competition. Remember I still have the March 06 thank you letter unopened and the gold I had said I would reward, as the main prizes for the talent show, in MayBeCloser's account.
