Here's an entire HALF SESSION littered with rofls! Start at the fifth post down on THIS PAGE, it should be my post to start the session, and from there read up to p# 21 but don't bother reading that page.

I've got two more stories for you all!

----

This was at the second session of the game I started running a few weeks ago. Finally, I had a full group there (only three were present at the first game), and we were making sure everyone had all the stuff they needed. Two of the players had no dice, so another player let them borrow his two extra things of dice. Which happened to be cursed.

They joked about how they had a 50% chance of their dice being cursed. I rolled some percent dice for that. I determined that my friend Kai's dice were cursed and my friend Kevin's were not. Kevin decided to get a feel for the dice by doing some experimental rolls. The first three were 20's. Kai rolled s**t the entire game except for one roll. My percent rolls were right.

----

We're all familiar with Tensor's Floating Disk, right? Well, the wizard in my group was arguing with the DM about why she should be able to ride her disk into battle. But the way she said it, it sounded like "d**k." I started cracking up.

The argument continued, and each time she said "disk," it continued to sound like "d**k." A couple others in the group caught on to why I was dying, and they were fighting back laughter, too. Neither the wizard or the DM got the joke until it was explained to them. And the wizard denied mispronouncing the word. Right.

Hello all, new member and whatnot. Just had to share an experience from last monday night (I host a D&D session with some friends from work)

I am a fairly understanding DM, and as long as something can be explained logically then I allow it. I also tend to allow anything that can be done by the rules, as long as (again) the player in question can justify it for their character.

Last monday, when my friend's Goliath Fighter hit the pre-reqs for Monkey Grip he became rather giddy. Explaining himself thoroughly, and having had his exposure to giant kin in his character's history (as well as multiple giant dialects for known languages) I decided to allow it.

This is a mercenary campaign, and they choose from a pool of seven different jobs that I design each week. The whole team, including the Goliath with monkey grip (thus wielding a huge warhammer), agreed upon a mission that involved the underdark.

He then had trouble justifying bringing his fifteen foot tall warhammer into a small passage halfway through the delve....

Y'know, every time you try to bring logic/Physics into D&D, God kills a cat-girl.

Good, i hate expanded races for the most part and cat-folk are included. lol

jkjk

You have to find ways to include and exclue each player at times. That was just one of those times. lol

Also, last night's campaign:

My player's decided to take on a Great Wyrm Blue Dragon....they are mostly lv4. Fun stuff. Long story short, they had to recruit people that costs more than what they earned. Turned out great, as it allowed me to create a temp campaign where they are paying this company back. lol

We had just escaped from an evil BBEG.

And had these rings on us that would kill us instantly if removed.
We were traveling with a Drow Sorcerer who had rescued us from the city.
He ended up taking off our rings via magical assistance. Which allowed us to not die.

I then glomped him (Tackle Hug) and exclaimed that I love you. (As a showing of my emotional expression of joy that we were safe, alive, and no longer under threat.)

He turned me into a cat.

I was fighting off an ogre barbarian that had just entered into a rage. The thing had a rusting club (detailed in Savage Species) that had rusted most of our weapons. Since I was a druid armed with wooden weapons, I was alright. But, that didn't protect me from getting the living snot beaten out of me from the club.

I jammed two spears into the ogre to try and do some damage, but nothing really happened that would help me out. We had a party of six, using a fighter, a paladin, me, a cleric of moradin, a monk, and a rogue.

This is when our Monk gets a clever idea. Our GM used the damage to specific areas variant rule, with a house rule concerning getting kicked in the groin. Since our ogre buddy was large size, that gave our monk just the right opening he needed. He flanks the ogre from behind, and rolls a natural 20 on his boot to the ogre's jewels. The monk the decided to use his flurry of blows, again nailing the ogre in the kid factories at least two more times. This is what follows:

DM: The ogre falls over, clutching his groin and gasping for air.
Fighter: I run over to it and stomp my boot on his arm using power attack.
DM: Make an attack roll.
The fighter hits for six points of damage and snaps the ogre's arm.
Paladin: I use my smite ability and stomp on his knee.
The paladin hits, dealing a good amount of damage and crippling the ogre.
Cleric: I kick him the eyes.
The cleric blinds the ogre.
Me: Umm... I smash my quarterstaff on his ribs?
I hit and stun the ogre for the next round.
Rogue: I pull out my crowbar and sneak attack the ogre's jaw.
The ogre is now unable to speak.
Monk: I take the crowbar and bash the ogre in the face before using my flurry of blows to mercilessly beat the crap out of him...

This basically continued until the ogre was a bloody pulp. I just expected the rogue to do something like that, but even the paladin and the cleric just went ghetto on the guy. As a final insult, our rogue teabags the ogre.

Ah...let's see if I can explain some of my stories. Well, to start with every campaign I've been in as a player has been a custom one, so some of the stuff might not always make sense.

First story:
The campaign was set in an alternate history kind of setting where magic was real, but limited (my dm hates full arcane casters and told us we couldn't have any). The initial party (we had a few changes over the course of the game) consisted of a Human Barbarian who was going to become a rage mage later then later just ditched that idea and kept going barbarian. A Half Elf rogue (who we convinced to become a full elf because half elves really just suck). A Human Duskblade (named Pherredin. And he even introduced himself at one point to a diplomat as 'ferredin with a ph'). A human Soulknife (my character, who later took up soulbow and illumine blade). We started at level 3. Now, as it was a custom campaign setting (and my dm wasn't very farmiliar with psionics) we each got to customize our abilities a bit. For my character this meant that his mindblade was an axe instead of a sword. So his base mindblade was a handaxe, then later he could make it a battleaxe and waraxe. Also, when we were making characters I used a dice roller over AIM. My stats turned out as follows: 18, 17, 14, 15, 12, 9. I didn't get to reroll the 9 like I should have, but oh well. His stats were assigned as: 18 str, 14 dex, 15 con, 12 int, 17 wis, and 9 cha.

Now that we've got that explanation part out of the way, I have to mention that all the starting party knew one another as they had grown up in the same place and were trained from childhood by a gigantic group of adventurers who had more or less retired. Of the lot of us, two had concealed abilities. Both the duskblade and my character were sneaky snakes about our abilities. In the first adventure it comes down to a fight on platforms rising from a deep pit, with us coming in one side and a few fighters chasing after us. Pherredin gets his big reveal off by casting kelgore's firebolt and doing some moderate damage to one of the bad guys. Then it came to my turn. I wanted to try and have his big reveal be spectacular, so my character summoned forth his mindblade, expended psionic focus, and threw it (using psionic shot). I rolled 2. There was even a very nice description of what it looked like as my character threw his mindblade into a wall, missing my target entirely and breaking a piece off the stone.

-----------------------
In a different campaign, and somewhat more recently, we were playing a custom setting with a custom class system. I was playing an monk-like guy and was refraining from using all of my abilities as part of his role play. Now, at this point we had a space ship, and had parked at a space station to refuel and screw around. I stayed behind on the ship with some of the npc's we were transporting, then went to leave the ship after everyone else had gone off to do their own thing.
My character opens the door, and is immediately faced by 12 men in black suits, with black sunglasses and assault rifles. It went something like this:
"I open the door to leave the ship" "there's 12 guys-" "I quickly start hitting the button to close the door." "It's going to take a round for the door to close" "I use my surprise action, hit the button multiple times and say 'shitshitshitshitshitshitshit' " "the door closes as they open fire."
I then made use of the passengers on the ship to take out the minions who had come to do battle.

---------------------
Another story from the first campaign.
After the hilariously bad big reveal, we manage to win the fight and escape the area. The party is moving through the woods at one point and get's attacked by assassins. One of the assassins is still hidden, but I managed to get my listen check off on him and the final round of combat went something like this:
"I turn around, expend my focus, and throw my mindblade at him. *roll* nat 20, *roll* 17 + my to hit modifier. *roll* max damage." Now, the wording for psionic shot is that it increases the damage dealt, so this got added into the damage roll before the x3 crit modifier took effect. The dm described the attack as hitting him and causing him to split in two, the two halves falling to the ground in different directions. It was a rather nice come back from 'I miss and hit the wall'.

This was a loooong time ago. In fact, it was one of my first sessions of DnD.

My group and I were surrounded by kobolds (or goblins or something with pointy sticks.) We were fighting back to back when they hit me and immobilized me. Now at the time, we didn't know that I could still attack (we thought I was totally paralyzed.) The entire group of kobolds (or w/e) attacked me and bloodied me. When it came my turn, I was able to move so I attacked and critical'd the kobold in front of me and pushed him back a square. He died and I was allowed a free melee basic because I was a barbarian. So I turned and killed the kobold next to me.

They pretty much fled after that. mrgreen
