After listening to the details of the enchanting backstory of these amazing gods, and their traditions He wasn't startled when there came a shady-looking figure came over. He was however slightly surprised he knew his name.
"Houjin."This is where you were." Rather than completely shocked, he was pleasantly surprised and was almost tempted to laugh. He knew who this figure was, one of his more loyal generals. Houjin tried really hard not burst into laughter; the poor boy wasn't very much good as at discretion but at least he was a competent soldier.
After Otto apologized to the priest, Houjin went off to exit just outside the gate's temple where there wasn't anyone on sight as the proceeding continued on the other end of the temple, there was only the gaze of the moon as their witness.
"Otto, if you're trying to be discrete I think you are doing the complete opposite of whatever you're trying to do," he left off a chuckle, "you look too much like a Nocte assassin out to kill someone, though it's not enough to convince me so, I can't say the same for the Aquans here. You need tog et out more."
He then proceeded to open the letter but as he read the message, his jolliness started to fade away.
To oh who rules Ignis now.. Houjin?
Who ever you are. Do you think attacking and kidnapping our Queen will end peacefully? I have no means to discuss things in a civil manner, nor do I care what you pitiful scum have to say. I am Prince Cernunnos Kai Beifong, second in line for the throne. As of now, I rule over the Kingdom of Terrae. Either return my sister home or we will unleash hell upon the ruins that remain.
King Cernunnos of Terrae" For a moment, contemplates in silence. His thoughts thinking about his people. Assuming that there are such rogue generals that dare actions as this in his absence, kidnapping the Queen of Terrae is just plain stupidity and suicide; they were in no position to start a war and still recovering. Even if one of them was a war mongering general, he certainly wouldn't wage a losing one. Financial reasons? They already have a good business with Nocte and Lux for their weapons and even sold the finest farming and culinary tools to Terrae.
"This is an obvious frame up. I can't return something that we never stolen in the first place, but I can tell a certain someone is very ambitious to get himself into power. Funny how Prince Cernunnos sounds more like our own Ignis generals despite his 'defensive claims' to be."
Just then, Houjin felt something crawl on his foot--it was a baby turtle. The poor thing as being chased by a giant grab which had only stopped because of his presence. With a small spark, the crab was sent running away back to the shallow. Houjin smiled and picked up the little turtle into the safety of his pocket.
"I think our little friend here just gave me an idea," he then turned to Otto,
"Otto, I am about to put you in a very dangerous position but before you give the Prince my reply, tell our engineers to resume the "
Iron Dragon project", with some slight modifications. I'll tell them about it after I have audience with the king of Aqua. I know we have our differences, but we are still human beings at least. Please use this as proof of my authority."
He then gave Otto a signet--a personal accessory worn only by the king and has a fragment of his life force with a crested small ruby, representing his magic power prevailing over fire.
"Now my reply to the 'kind' prince."
He then turned the back of the scroll and carefully charred out letters, taking care not to burn out the paper to much.
"To Prince Cernunnos Kai Beifong,
First off, know your place in your kingdom. You are not a full ruler of your kingdom..yet, not even a general in command. I say this to you for the sake of your own people and avoid needless lives lost. You know very well what kind of ruler I am dear prince. If there is such atrocities done by my own people, I will help find the culprits behind this and even enlist an envoy Blank Knight as a neutral observer.
However, if you insist to take immediate action and show signs of building up of your forces near or within our borders, I will consider it as an act of aggression. I must fairly warn you, the Ignis you will fight against is not the same Ignis you will fight in the past. War is never a pretty thing my friend, there can be no true victors. If we burn, you shall burn with us.

After writing the message down, he rolled back and gave it to Otto.
"The prince may not listen to the proposal I offer, which, am afraid will put your life in danger, but I must ask you to personally deliver the message itself as a sign of truth and honor being you are one of my most trusted generals. I am confident however, of your combat skills but do what you can to avoid needless killing.
Before you go to Terrae dear general, visit to the Kingdom of Seve first. Speaking with the king or at least the Blank Knight Captain. He is easy to spot as he is always surveying the city with a very distinctive armor. It is at least to show proof to the world, that we, the people of Ignis, have at least tried to reason with the Prince of Terrae, whether we survive this ridiculous war or not."
Houjin breathes a sigh of relief, looking at the peaceful haze of the moon. He had longed anticipated this day, but he never dreamed it would've been in his lifetime. His kingdom and it's people werre very lucky for that at least.
"Oh before I forget," he turned to Otto with a wide grin on his face, "would you like some Aquan seaweed tea? It has a bit of tangy flavor but otherwise good for your skin, at least I've been told so."
