A question for eclectics, or those combining paths...

I've always considered myself an eclectic pagan, and have generally followed the Celtic pantheons. However, over the past few years, the Heathen ways and Gods have interested me. As a member of the neo-druid organization ADF, I know I can follow a druid path while following the Norse Gods. I've attempted this, but always go back to the Celtic pantheons. Of course, when I get things going again with the Celtic Gods, it always seems like the Norse Gods try to get my attention again. So, I'm thinking of combining the paths (but not mixing up the Gods together, as that is rude and could go bad), but I'm not really sure how to go about it. Maybe, take turns during the High Holy days, as in one sabbat use the Celtic Gods, and use the Norse for the next. Hmmm, guess I'm just not sure.

So, my question is (of course after I rambled on for a bit), for the eclectics that follow more then one pantheon, or those that follow more then one path, how do you go about it without offending the Gods, or how do you make it work for you in general? (also, I should mention I'm a hard polytheist, so do not see all Gods as one)

Well, I'm not eclectic but maybe I can get the ball rolling with this thread...

I've found if nothing else fails research the gods you wish to worship. Find out what was historically offered, what They detest, and read a little about how They were worshipped.

I've actually figured out what I'm going to do about this.

See, I've been having this strong pull towards heathenism, but was worried about leaving behind the Celtic deities I've followed on and off for a decade. Truth be told, the only Celtic deity I've felt close to for a while has been Ceridwen, and though it makes me feel almost nervous doing so, I think it's time to move on. I feel like She'll understand, and I will still honor Her while I still feel close to Her. If She lets me go, so be it. If not, then I am happy with that as well. After following mostly the same path, with various additions, for a decade, I think it's time to move on. I feel like I'm ready, and I think it would be foolish of me to ignore this calling to the heathen ways and Gods.

Glad you found a solution. There are a couple of heathens floating around the guild here who I'm sure will happily help out with getting a firm foundation for you.
