Katniss narrowed her eyes. "Is supposed to tell me that I'm unskillful, useless, pathetic?" she asked angrily. "I said. I. Can. Do. It. By. My. Self." she hissed and continued to stand her ground. "I know exactly what I'm doing, I don't need sponsors!" she growled again. He was really getting more on her nerves than Peeta did at this point.

Haymitch sighed. "You can't do it by yourself. No one can that is why there are two tributes from a district. I have seen tribute after tribute from district twelve slaughtered and I actually think that the two of you have a chance of surviving. Though it isn't going to happen if you stay pig headed like this. You don't have to like my idea or even agree with it but it is still going to happen." He took another drink. This girl was a stubborn one.

Katniss swallowed and stood up straight. "So long as it saves our lives down the line, fine, but I hope you're right, Haymitch," she turned around and left. Entering her room she slammed the door and jumped on the bed screaming into her pillow. Curled into a ball, her eyes screwed shut, blocking the tears, she felt the heaving breaths as she fought against sobs.

Haymitch watched Katniss leave. He shook his head and drank a little more wine. "Stupid kids." He put the bottle away once he heard footsteps coming towards the dining car.

Peeta walked in and looked at Haymitch. "What happened I heard a door slam?" Haymitch told him that it was nothing and wouldn't tell him anything about the plan. He had even confided in Haymitch on his feelings for Katniss. He sighed and figured that he would find out the plan sooner or later.

Memories corsed through Katniss as she laid there, fighting tears and weakness. Her dad leaving for the day, the news of his death. Her little sister, bullies. Peeta. The bread. Her family starving. "No, no I'm not thinking of it!" she groaned holding the pillow to her face.
