AnastasiaShe listens. You expect the wise to be wiser Fallen from grace
The kiss broke. Her heart rate had begun to pick up. Her nerves were beginning to juggle sparks. What was this strange feeling? Was it right? It couldn't be. If someone walked in, they would only see that she was kissing a woman, which would have summoned an incredibly confusing number of questions on top of who this individual was in the first place.
She tried to gather her thoughts. Somewhere private...? ... Right... this was happening. But to do that, there was something she desperately needed to affirm. Carta suggested an agreement, but it was too vague.
Anastasia began to stand. She pressed her hands to Carta's cheeks and looked with all seriousness to her eyes. "Before I do... Do you promise to stay at my side? I can't let this be a one night stand."
All and all I guess we should have known better...

She'd rather them have privacy and save the embarrassment of eyes staring. Especially since the demoness isn't all entirely welcomed in these walls. How strange and dangerous would that be? She couldn't imagine the possibilities and tension that could arise if someone found Ana with a creature who's ears are pointy and large.
To be concealed in a room, shielded from other eyes... well that just sounded more pleasant.
Carta moved from Anastasia's lap and stood towering over her. She smiled warmly with a nod to be made. "I so heartily promise." She placed her hand on her chest with an affirmed look that she was not lying at all.Take a look in the distance Try and see it all

Anastasia studied Carta's face a while longer. A demon.... a demon that had saved her life. A demon that had been her friend, a guardian these last few nights.... Was it too soon?
Please don't be lying to me...
Anastasia nodded slowly and then motioned for Carta to follow. There was a room, hers, that was safer for them and that would be more secluded. Anastasia only had a vague idea of what to expect.

Cartaphilus ★◆★◆★◆★◆★◆★ ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ Take the time just to listen When the voices screaming are much too loudSuch a turn of events had occurred quite drastically since the departure to Ana's room. Carta was thankful for their new found bond and the fact she found out more about Anastasia than before. Seeing her so bashful was a thing the demoness would explore more often. Especially due to the red look on the human's face. She would not nor dare not let this fiesta of teasing die down soon.
She held Ana's hand tight while they entered the bar. "So before we set up, anything I should expect?" Carta asked with a smile stained across her face. She turned to face Ana more directly with not just one hand clutched but the other as well.
There was such a warmth to this one's hands. Rubbing them with her thumbs, gave her enough feeling to reflect and cherish this warmth. She kinda didn't want to pull away just yet but if customers turned up to see this, it wouldn't look good.OOC: There's your answer lol.Take a look in the distance Try and see it all

Dressed, cleaned, and back in the main tavern again, the few back rooms were left sealed off. Hand in hand with Carta, she began to go through the list of things the tavern needed to open. Clean glasses, a check of the stock, clean wash towels for wiping down tables.
"I don't expect there to be many people. But if there are, we let them keep their boots on and set their coats where they want." Anastasia turned her eyes from the room at large to Carta, who was close, and who held her hand so gently. "A few drinks. Mend wounds if we see them. We're a mending and aid station as well as a tavern."
Or, this place used to be, once upon a time. Perhaps the hospital was better suited for most injures. Even so, if a person could not reach the hospital, this was the next best place.
She tried to calm her breathing.

Carta didn't feel intimidated in the least with others filling this bar. She'll assist and hope that they won't feel threatened for what she was. The glowing silver eyes and pointy ears do give it away but she'll have to reassure those who come that all is well.
"Understandable. I'll do my best, Ana." She squeezed her hand to reassure the female that the demoness was on her side. This day/night should go smoothingly and hopefully, no one will be badly injured. She'd rather not succumb to feeling sinister feelings to someone's untimely demise.
Hearing her partner's rapid breathing, gave notion to the demoness to actually try and calm her further. Being panicky and stressed would not help. Carta's job was to protect her and keep her nerves calm.
Moving one hand, she placed it on Ana's cheek, rubbing it with her thumb. "Breath, Ana. Everything will be fine." She leaned over to place the top of her forehead on Ana's.OOC: Your quotations aren't there. Didn't get notified.Take a look in the distance Try and see it all

Ana swallowed and she nodded. Everything would be fine. ... Nothing, really, had changed. The tavern still stood. She was still human and she still was able to stand and walk, awkward though it felt to. She was still the daughter of fallen hunters and she had her education behind her. She was, by all measures, an adult. So was there a reason for concern or panic?
... No. By these accounts, there was nothing to be afraid of. She lifted a hand to Carta's and touched it. The contact was soothing. The silver gaze was calming.
After a moment, Anastasia nodded again and she lowered her hand. "It will be alright. Yes, thank you."

The demoness did not go against the female's wishes by leaving her in the morning. She stayed as promised and showed true commitment to a relationship flourishing. Would the demoness dare leave? No. That possibility was and will be far from here.
A reassuring selection of words to Ana, pleased Carta as it worked. Nothing should be stressful tonight. An extra pair of hands had been attained and Anastasia should have little to worry about. This is what the demoness would hope for.
She nodded in return, smiling before moving her hand to the female's chin. She raised her face, guiding her to the demoness lips where they held to one another. They remained like this for a few seconds or more until Carta felt it was necessary to pull away. Once done, she left Ana's side and attended to the tables that needed a small polish before customers would arrive.OOC:Take a look in the distance Try and see it all

And so it was between the two. There was reassurance, spoken and silent, and the gentleness did much to help soothe Ana's nerves. At the end of it, Carta turned her attention to the room and began to clean. The light feeling the kiss left lingered on Anastasia's heart for quite a while. Perhaps this wasn't such a bad thing.
Likewise, Anastasia turned her attention to work. There were a few glasses to clean, which would be taken care of in short order. She wanted to check inventory. She decided to see to that after she finished the dishes, dusted, and swept.
One didn't know when others would arrive, or when. But, by tradition, the tavern was open each night until after the witching hour. And even then, one made exceptions for emergencies. A small charm of the building was that the one granted charge of it knew when someone approached who needed help, and they were always aware of intrusions. It was this charm that helped secure this structure, and that undoubtedly kept it safe from lycans and vampires alike.
All and all I guess we should have known better...

AnastasiaShe listens. You expect the wise to be wiser Fallen from grace
The day passed in relative calm and peace. There were no visitors for the entirety of the day. The sun continued its course. A few meal breaks were arranged for them, which included sandwiches and a single drink. (Water was preferred for most of the meals, naturally.)
As the evening drew closer, the night fell. The bar itself would close around midnight, when it was dark. Anastasia looked to the clock now and again. She confirmed the inventory and took note of what needed to be ordered. Unfortunately, there were so few... Such an empty tavern, save for the scant few she expected, the guards that made no large ruckus and carried on duty for the sake of it.
Yet, the evening waned on. The sunlight faded behind the horizon. There was no company to join them and she saw to closing the main entrances. Emergency entrances existed, and those in need would find them, but to all else, the way was barred.
Anastasia went around one last time, wiping down the tables so they were clear and to prevent dust from settling upon them in the night.
All and all I guess we should have known better...
