Stretching sleepily, Theo awoke in his room in the city pokemon center, on the floor. Eh? How'd that happen? Baw, too tired to think... "Lit-wick!" He heard his fiery companion pout, headbutting into him. ”Ouch!” He protested as he felt the heat of the flame rub up against his skin. Lit. Opening an eye, he stared at her grumpily, then pulled the cover back up and over his eyes. Liiiiitwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick... She pouted some more, this time turning up the heat on her flame and searing his side. "Okay, okay! I'm up, I'm up!" Well, at least something worked. Grumbling a little, he glared at her as he climbed off of the floor and unwrapped himself from the warm confines of the blanket. Glancing over at his cellphone, he saw that it was already eleven thirty. Grumble grumble grumble. Needless to say, Theo hated mornings.

After changing, doing his morning business and whatnot, he exited his room with a small pack slung over his shoulder, still glaring at Litwick.
"Hey Nurse Joy, can you do a quick check up on Litwick here? I don't want to leave before I know she's good to go." He asked as he approached the Alcove City Nurse Joy with a friendly smile. She smiled back and nodded, "Why certainly~" As the pink-haired young man waited for his pokemon friend to get a check-up, he went over to the sitting area until she came back.

Lydia woke up with a calm joy for the morning. At long last, she'd be able to sign up for the pokemon league! Still, she was impressed by everything in the pokemon center. The fact that Nurse Joy didn't charge a thing to care for pokemon, or that trainers got free meals, or even just the thought of how each and every Nurse Joy looked exactly the same. 'I wonder if there was ever a nurse Joy who wasn't a nurse. Or if there was ever one who wasn't named Joy. I mean, what happens with sisters? They can't both be Joy, can they?' She went on to ponder as she made her way to the main entrance of the pokemon center.

"I can't thank you enough Jamie," Nurse Joy said to a boy in front of her counter.

"It's no problem at all Nurse Joy!" The boy replied in awkward happiness. "My dad wants me to help promote some of our newest imports to trainers, so I'd be doing the same thing as you. But there are pokemon who need your care, so it doesn't bother me at all to help!"

"That's very sweet of you Jamie," Joy smiled.

Nurse Joy, I looo-- A chattot sat on Jamie's shoulder, about to let out some big secret until the boy hushed him up, his face completely red. "Aha, ha ha, Hochi and I have been practicing how to make up phrases with words it already knows--for a comedy act!" he tried to save face.

Joy blinked a moment. "Oh. It sounds very interesting. Be sure to let me know if you ever need an audience member," She smiled gracefully before leaving to return to her daily duties.

"I will!" Jamie called. "I'll let you know someday..." Pikachu! Pikachu! There! There! Hochi called out. "Huh?" Jamie looked up. "Hey! Excuse me!"

Three's Company!

Lydia stopped to look over at the boy hurrying to her. "Is something wrong?"

"No no no! Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to know if you were a trainer." Jamie explained.

"Ya, I am," Lydia smiled up proudly. "Actually, I was just about to head to professor Alder's lab and sign up for the Phior pokemon league."

"So that makes you a new trainer then," Jamie guessed, reaching in the box Nurse Joy had given him while Lydia nodded to confirm it. "Nurse Joy wanted me to hand these out to all the new starting trainers," He handed off a potion. At the mention of Nurse Joy, Hochi started off again, Nurse Joy! I looove yooou! Jamie shushed him too late, seeming embarrassed. "Hochi!"

Lydia laughed. "It looks like your Chattot knows a few secrets."

"Sometimes, I wish he didn't..." Jamie sighed. "This is Hochi, by the way. My name is Jamie. I help my dad run the pokemart down the way."

"I'm Lydia, and this is my Pikachu: Voltz," Lydia introduced in return. Pikachu.

"Oh, you're a fellow name rater too," Jamie sounded modestly happy. "Well, that's what I call other trainers who give different names to their pokemon. I guess every trainer has a different style. I like to give names to all the pokemon I catch. Well, that is, if I ever catch anymore. Hochi is my only one, hahaha. But I'm happy to just have him hang around."

"Voltz is my only pokemon too," Lydia said. "I didn't bring any pokeballs with me, heh heh..."

"Seriously? You can't catch many pokemon without any pokeballs," Jamie said in shock.

"You mean you don't get them from the pokemon lab?"

"Nope." Lydia's face dropped. This region was just so different from Kanto. "Well," He glanced around, "I guess it couldn't hurt if I gave you these," He tried to cover that he handed her a few pokeballs.

"Really? You mean it?" Lydia's face lit up.

"I don't think my dad will get mad about this," Jamie said. Buy ten pokeballs! Buy ten! Buy ten! Get one free! Hochi rambled on. "Oh ya! Here," He anded Lydia a different pokeball. It was completely white, except for the red line that marked where the center of it was. "That's a premier ball. It works the same as a pokeball, but it looks pretty cool, doesn't it?"

"Ya, I've never seen one like this before," Lydia said as she stared at it a while longer.

New imports! get 'em while they're here! "I know Hochi!" Jamie fussed as he searched to find a pink looking pokeball. "Here. I'm supposed to hand one of these out to trainers today anyway. It's called a heal ball. It's a pokeball that heals a pokemon that it catches. Pretty handy when you're far from the nearest pokemon center, right?"

"That's so cool! Sounds like it'll help in a sticky situation. I'll be sure to remember that."

"Up until recently, only the specialty pokeball store in Adell got pokeballs like this. But some pokemarts might have them in stock now."

"You keep saying pokemart," Lydia finally said. "But don't you mean a pokemon center?"

"No no, look," He pointed out a window leading down the street. "Pokemarts are where trainers get supplies for their journey. You won't always find a pokemon center, so it's good to be prepared. Just about every town has one. They're the one with the blue roof and pokeball symbol." Lydia stopped to think, putting all the pieces together to make sense of it. "Pokemon centers are all run by a Nurse Joy and have a red roof so that they're easier to find. PokeMarts, however, are run by different people from different towns. The Phior region is small, so a lot of our PokeMart prices are half of what other regions' are. Potions, pokeballs, and even Nectars!"

"What's nectar?" Lydia stopped to give a blank and puzzled expression.

Jamie laughed, "AHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, I thought you were serious when you asked what a nectar was."

"That's what I said."

"What? You mean you're really serious!? You've never heard of pokemon Nectar!? Have you been living in a cave all your life? Nectars are the Phior regions signature pokemon supply product! Other shoppes might have lemonade or soda pop just for pokemon, but they don't come close to Nectar! There's a variety of flavors that pokemon love, and they're really good for your pokemon too!"

"Wow! That sounds amazing! Every store needs something like that!" Lydia gawked.

"So you can see why the local trainers here prefer Nectar over the other pokemon supplies. Pokemon seem happier when they get Nectar as opposed to being stuffed with medicines and vitamins. Not to mention it saves room in your pack when you travel, and even humans can drink it for a boost of energy! But it does get a little expensive... for the price of a hyper potion, you could get only one nectar. So you see why a lot of trainers who come from different regions aren't really Nectar enthusiasts. It's different from normal and costs a little more than some budgets." Jamie explained. Lydia's face fell again. She'd probably never be able to afford something like that! "Anyway, I gotta help Nurse Joy. See ya later!" Jamie picked up the box again, and took off.

"Thanks," Lydia called out.

Morning. It was luck, complete luck that Voltz wasn't too badly hurt. Team Chronos could have done more. Worse. But despite Joy's assurance that her pokemon would be fine by morning, Lydia had a guilt ridden night, unable to sleep. She just waited. She dozed off every once in a while, but they only feel like a few seconds before she woke up again with her guilt. She wasn't sure if the others understood. Maybe they did. But she couldn't find much comfort. She just kept murmuring the same thing over and over: I'm sorry Voltz. I'm so sorry...

Now, she was more careful to pack up her stuff, and made sure that emergency items were easier to get to, rather than stuck at the bottom. It'd be inconvenient when it came to packing and unpacking, but she couldn't risk another incident like yesterday. What was more, was the fact that her pride was hurt. She'd seriously underestimated team Chronos. A couple of victories against them had made her arrogant. She'd figured them to be a bunch of clowns, but aipom alone out-bested her. They weren't the push overs she'd taken them for. And Voltz paid the price for that mistake. So she made a promise to herself before breakfast: Next time, just run. She was scared of Chris and Madison.
