You have generally the right idea. I remember reading this somewhere: Roxas looks like Ven because his heart was with Sora when he was created. And when Roxas was created he showed signs of actually feeling emotion even though he wasn't supposed to. Because of this there's a bit of speculation, that when Roxas was around, he had Ven's sleeping heart and not Sora. (But he eventually got it back when they united).
But, the bottom line would be, even though he's Sora's Nobody, he has Ven's looks because that's what his heart attributed to him.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. I'm better explaining this in person. And I know I'm a little late in commenting on this, but oh well ^.^"

Well I suppose that's the reason for the resemblance in looks but other than that, I believe that Roxas is entirely Sora's nobody
Nobody's names are an anagram of who they were before so Roxas is Sora's name with an x in it, therefore he is Sora's nobody.
